Outside of the barrier, both Zeldaris and Aversia had stopped their attempts at breaking through the barrier, nothing that they had tried had even managed to scratch the barrier.

They had gone through almost every spell in their arsenal and tried different tactics.

From concentrating their attacks at a single point to attacking almost the entire area of the barrier at the same time.

At first, the two saw it as a challenge, it had been a long time since someone or something could take a hit or two from them, but the longer they tried the more frustrated and panicked they became.

They could see the situation the others were in and were worried about them, especially about Natsu.

“SHIT! How are we supposed to go through this?” Aversia yelled in frustration and anger.

Zeldaris didn´t answer as he tried to come up with an idea, but no matter what he thought of, nothing seemed to be able to penetrate through it.

Letting out her anger and frustration, Aversia punched the barrier.

Aversia looked downward and saw how Erza was facing Midnight, while the others were fighting against Brain.

“I… We can´t just watch as they are fighting for their lives!”

“I know, but as long as the barrier stands, we can´t help them. Our options are limited, we also can´t damage too many of the legs, otherwise, the whole city will collapse.” Zeldaris said helplessly.

Aversia clenched her claws and closed her eyes, trying to suppress her emotions, she hated this feeling of helplessness the most.

“Good… If that is the case, then I will use it…” Aversia said as she opened her eyes and flew into the sky.

Aversia flew far above the city before spreading her wings.

Flames erupted from her body, covering it.

Zeldaris´s eyes widened in shock as he realized what Aversia was planning to do.

“That idiot… Does she really want to use that spell?” Zeldaris said.

Aversia opened her mouth and the flames that were covering her body gathered before her mouth.

A small sphere was formed by the flames and began to grow with every bit of magic power that flowed into it.

“[Chaos Dragon´s Secret Art…]”

Aversia moved her head upward as she released all of her magic power that her body had control over and gathered it into the sphere.

‘More… I need more magic power!’

The scales on Aversia´s body began to grow, covering up more of her body as Aversia began to release the sealed-up magic inside her body.

Scales began to grow onto the front of her upper body, covering up her chest and stomach completely.

The sphere continued to absorb the flames that Aversia unleashed until nothing remained, the sphere was half as big as Aversia herself.

Aversia looked down at the barrier.

“[NOVA FLAME!!!]”

With a roar, the sphere was launched toward the barrier, while Aversia was no longer able to fly and started to fall.

Zeldaris, who had kept his distance so that his body wouldn´t absorb any of the magic of the spell hurriedly flew toward the falling Aversia and caught her in his arms.

Aversia´s body twitched uncontrollably, and her face was pale.

“You damned fool.” Zeldaris said as he saw Aversia´s condition.

Meanwhile, the sphere had reached the barrier and was now clashing against it.

Zeldaris could feel that the sphere became increasingly unstable and would explode at any moment.

Zeldaris clicked his tongue and flew higher into the sky, to get away to safety as fast as possible.

Inside the barrier, Erza, Brain, and everyone else stared at the giant sphere that was clashing against the barrier.

“EVERYONE TAKE COVER!” Erza yelled toward the group as she felt that the sphere was about to explode.

Anna hurriedly tried to create a barrier, while Wendy cast her strongest defense enchantment.

Erza ran toward the others while keeping an eye out on Brain, however, the leader of Oración Seis was too occupied with watching the sphere clash against the barrier to notice anything.

Shortly after Anna finished her barrier and Wendy cast her enchantment, the sphere exploded, and the entire city shook.

A sea of flames covered the entire barrier and to Brain´s horror, cracks appeared on the barrier.

However, the sea of flames soon began to dissipate, and the cracks of the barrier began to disappear as well.

But before the last crack disappeared something flew toward the crack and broke through it.

It was Zeldaris who had wrapped his wings around him and Aversia.

Unveiling his wings, Zeldaris flew toward the roof of the nearest building and carefully let down Aversia on the ground.

He had given her some of his magic to help her recover a bit, but it didn´t help much.

Aversia looked at Zeldaris and signaled him to go.

Zeldaris hesitated for a moment before flying toward the others.

After Zeldaris was gone, Aversia sighed and placed her hand against her head.

“*pant* Even for me *pant* that was too risky… The seal almost broke down.”

Zeldaris didn´t fly toward Erza and the others but toward Natsu, his condition was much more dangerous.

As he arrived, Cobra was standing above Natsu, while holding his head with his hand.

Cobra covered his other arm in poison aimed toward Natsu´s throat.

Happy tried to protect Natsu by jumping between Natsu and Cobra, but that only

But before Cobra could strike, Zeldaris swopped down, grabbed Cobra, and threw him toward the nearest house.

Cobra crashed through the wall of the house and disappeared.

Taking this chance, Zeldaris dug his claws into Natsu´s chest and began to absorb the poison magic that was inside his body.

Happy turned toward Zeldaris and asked, “Is he going to be, ok?”

Zeldaris smiled to reassure Happily.

“Natsu will be fine, he is tougher than he looks. Although the poison had taken a heavy toll on him, but it takes more than that to finish him.” Zeldaris said and turned around toward the direction he threw Cobra at.

“Happy, bring Natsu to the others. Wendy´s healing magic should easily do the trick.” Zeldaris instructed before flying toward the area Cobra had landed.

Cobra emerged from the rubles of the house, at this point getting sick of getting thrown through houses.

However, Cobra was not able to react in time and Zeldaris knocked him out cold with one final blow to the head.

Zeldaris looked down at the unconscious Cobra and sighed.

“Why are there so many fake dragon slayers going around? At this point, it is getting annoying.” Zeldaris said and was about to give Cobra the killing blow.

However, the hissing sound of Cubellios stopped him, causing Zeldaris to look up and see how the giant snake struggled to move toward Cobra before losing consciousness halfway through.

Even after the snake had lost consciousness, Zeldaris couldn´t look away, his eyes could see that the snake´s body was engulfed with some sort of spell.

Interested in what it was, Zeldaris walked over to the snake and touched the head of Cubellios with his hand.

He could feel how his body was devouring the spell and after only a couple of seconds, the body of Cubellios was engulfed in smoke.

Not waiting for the smoke to disappear on its own, Zeldaris beat with his wings and made the smoke disappear, what emerged from within the smoke surprised him quite a lot.

It was the naked body of a young girl with a round face, who seemed to be only a year or two older than Wendy.

Her hair had the same color as her former scales.

Flustered, Zeldaris hurriedly took out a cloak and quickly covered the body of the girl.

“Can´t leave her alone like this… I should take her with me, just to be safe.” Zeldaris thought out loud before carefully picking up the girl and flying toward Erza and the rest.

Erza and Gray were currently fighting against Brain, while Wendy, Eve, and Ren were going against Midnight.

Currently, the battle was going in their favor, Midnight was ill-equipped to go against multiple opponents at once, especially a sky dragon slayer that could simply eat the compressed air slashes that he sent flying toward them.

Brain on the other side was getting cornered thanks to the great teamwork between Erza and Gray.

The two were able to cover each other to the point that Brain hadn´t any opportunities to deal a decisive blow to either of them.

However, Gray, Eve, and Ren were close to their limit and wouldn´t be able to continue like this for much longer.

They needed to end this fight fast, or they would lose the initiative.

As for the remaining dark guild members, Ichiya and Lucy were fighting against them.

Ichiya had been forced to use his final trump card, his power perfume to transform into a giant of a man with muscles that looked like they could bend steel.

However, Ichiya was also almost out of magic power, which is why he was trying to defeat as many as possible before he ran out of power.

Lucy, on the other hand, was fully healed and her magic reserves were full, thanks to Wendy´s healing magic.

She helped Ichiya to cut down the number of enemies as much as possible, but at this rate, it would take them a long time to deal with them.

To make things worse, both Midnight and Brain were well aware of the situation and were now playing it safe, waiting for their moment to attack.

And for Midnight that moment came sooner than later.

Eve tried to freeze Midnight with a blizzard, however, the young mage had underestimated his fatigue and lost his balance.

Wendy tried to help him and rushed to his side, but by doing so, gave Midnight an opening that he gladly took.

Creating a vortex of compressed air blades, Midnight trapped Ren inside his attack and inflicted heavy injuries on him.

Midnight rushed toward Wendy, by far was she the biggest obstacle for him besides Erza.

He prepared his magic to move the ground beneath Wendy and turn them into spears that would impale her.

However, a scaled claw appeared out of nowhere, grabbed his face, and slammed him into the ground.

“AND WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING TO MY LITTLE SISTER?!” roared Zeldaris furiously, officially 110% done with this whole situation.

“Brother!” Wendy exclaimed happily, while Erza and Gray sighed in relief.

Letting go of Midnight´s head, Zeldaris jumped backward toward Wendy and Eve.

“Sorry that it took so long. It´s good to see you again, but we can catch up after all of this is over.” Zeldaris said to Wendy and stroked her head a bit.

He also lied down to the girl and said, “Take her to Anna, I will explain who she is later, but now you two need to go back, I will deal with him.”

Wendy nodded and helped Eve carry the girl.

Zeldaris watched as Midnight slowly stood up, apologizing profoundly and visibly afraid to someone before yelling at Zeldaris.

Meanwhile, Brain tried to disengage Erza and Gray and join his son against Zeldaris, however, the two, especially Erza, made it extremely difficult for him to get away from them.

Zeldaris on the other hand stared at Midnight, his body ready to move at the slightest signal.

Midnight screamed once more and used his magic to create multiple earth spears.

Zeldaris disappeared from his spot, rushing toward Midnight while cutting through every single spear with ease.

In less than a blink of an eye, Zeldaris arrived before Midnight.

“[Chaos Dragon´s Rough Silk]”

Strings made out of flames of chaos pierced through Midnight´s body at multiple places, causing him to yell in pain before falling to the ground, unconscious.

Not even glancing at the fallen Midnight, Zeldaris looked toward the shocked Brain and smiled.

Chaos Dragon´s Secret Art: Nova Flame

The strongest spell of the half-dragons Zeldaris and Aversia. By compressing a large amount of magic power, in the form of grey flames, into a sphere. The sphere will explode shortly after being fired, causing a massive explosion and unleashing the flames inside it, burning and destroying everything in its path. However, this spell has one major flaw, the monstrous amount of magic power that it consumes. This spell consumes most of Zeldaris´s and Aversia´s magic, leaving them vulnerable until they managed to regain their magic power to a certain point.

Reflector

Midnight´s magic allows him to control and manipulate any non-living object. There are almost no limitations to the number of ways he can control and manipulate the object. However, he can only control one object at a time, but even if he gives up his control over an object, the object will not return to normal.
