First of all, I would like to say that this novel will not be on full hiatus. I will still update it, but just very rarely. That is why I called it a half hiatus. Now the reasons I have put this novel on a hold.
1. School Sucks - I despise school like many people my age. Especially for distance learning. I am mostly a straight-A student. I get sometimes get less than an A on tests, but usually, people get a lot of Ds and Fs, so it gets weighted. But sadly, not in distance learning. Everybody except for me cheated on an exam. The teacher was like, "HmM A LoT Of KiDs ArE VeRy SmArT ThIs YeAr ArEn'T ThEy." Barely anybody got less than an A, and our teacher didn't even realize that anybody was cheating. This made it so that there was no weighting, so I got a B on the test. Now, I am grounded for the foreseeable future due to the B I got on the test. I really need to study, so I don't have much time to write. I also am taking a lot of AP classes, so that's something. Blame the American education system.
2. Motivation - I don't have much if any motivation to write this novel. This makes it hard for me to get new ideas. Sorry.
I hope you understand. Thank you all for supporting this novel, and I will see you later!
Ugh, I can tell you that cheating on the tests isn’t worth it. I have seen how things turn out when a class is given answers. They don’t learn anything. Even if you might “forget” things over time, the info is still there. It is so much easier to recall things you have “forgotten” when looking back over something than to relearn it due to never having learned it to begin with.
Thats true, but if it affects my grades in the present, then what's better?
@TheDominator43 Something that I have grown more and more aware, short term benefits do not out weigh long term benefits. If you get a B while doing things correctly, that just means you need to do better next time. Now, the response of your parents was not appropriate given the situation. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that telling them that a lot of your classmates cheated to get their grades won't have a positive result. Anyway, for what it amounts to, being a completely random person on the internet, please believe me that it is not worth it to cheat to get better grades. It makes the grades you make feel less deserved and the accomplishment of getting A's to lose its value. Don't pay attention to what everybody else is doing and just focus on what you are doing. If you have been getting A's before then you can make A's now. You just need to adjust the effort you put in until you are used to how things work with the class. I imagine the class just started in the last month, right? Never expect to get an A on the first test. A B is perfectly acceptable for at the beginning of the school year. Even a B for a final grade is "alright" but if you are shooting for valedictorian then I can see if you wouldn't see it as such. This is coming from somebody who ranked 32nd in a graduating class of 600+ people from high school and then went on to study engineering at Georgia Tech.
@Nfsu218 Thanks for the advice. I will do my best!
If they can cheat so can you, besides you will probably forget most of what you learn anyway, and even if you did remember it's all just worthless knowledge that won't help you anyway, may as well just save yourself some time and do things you enjoy.
Thanks! Ok, I shall cheat on my tests.
@TheDominator43 Good.
@TheDominator43 its the system's fault if people are able to cheat the system, also it is not illegal if you don't get caught
@TheDominator43 Lol bro no that’s not how it works. Doing things just because other people can isnt the way to go. I could go on and on about why but I want to keep this somewhat short, so basically, don’t cheat. I’ve done it before, and sure I graduated from high school, but that didn’t really do me any good. Setting aside the fact that it’s something literally everyone despises, all cheating will do for you is make it easier for you to bad things. You’ll get more out of trying your hardest in life than you will by taking it easy, and you’ll also live a more fulfilling life.
I personally am somewhat of a sadist, and yeah I am a bad person, something I want to work on. I kinda forgot where I was going with this halfway through writing this but well the moral of the story is school sucks but it’s still necessary and while the things you learn won’t stick, the values and skills you learn will. I’m really tired. Hope you do well in them tests. Also good night. Don’t eat the soup.
@SoftScratch The reason why I cheat sometimes is because I don't need to learn anything from high school anyway, which would make studying a waste of time. And because even if I did decide to study I would just forget it again in a few days.
@KingFrito The same thing happens to everyone so you can’t use that as an excuse. In fact, I’d go so far as to say you’re sounding kinda sus!
@SoftScratch this isn't me just making excuses, I know for a fact this is true because when I was younger I had to study and I just always forgot it in a couple days.
@SoftScratch Thanks for the advice!
