CHAPTER 28: DEUS EX DRAGONICA

ALPHONSE FARADEISS

2 ½ YEARS AGO

I spread out my arms and commanded the chains to wrap around my Elemental Dragon’s claws. I poured fire, water, earth, air, and electricity to each of those chains, enhancing my dragon’s fists with all elemental properties. With this, I gave all my magical energy towards my dragonoid partner.

“Are you ready to beat the shit out of our enemy, Z?” I smiled.

“Always ready!” Z telepathically said to me.

Glowing golden dust covered my Elemental Dragon until it molded itself into a humanoid giant silhouette made of light. The humanoid light opened its eyes, revealing its red irises filled with determination to defeat the enemy with this ultimate move!

“Haaaaaahhhh!!!” Z shouted with her full force. In the blink of an eye, the giant golden silhouette dashed towards the Monolith Dragon with the speed of light. It enhanced its right fist with fire as it makes a swift uppercut towards the giant dragon’s chin.

The golden silhouette teleported to the left side, and unleashed its left hook with the fist covered with magical water! It was a direct hit to the Monolith Dragon’s cheek, and it was so fast that the Monolith Dragon failed to react or even utter a loud cry.

The golden silhouette then dashed to its right side and prepared a roundhouse kick with its earth-enhanced right foot. It hit the Monolith Dragon’s neck, and the impact was so powerful that the giant dragon was forced to step back.

Connecting the previous attack, the golden silhouette teleported on top of the Monolith Dragon and made a swift ax kick with its left foot enhanced with wind energy. It hit the dragon’s forehead, making a loud metallic clang noise that echoed around the city.

The golden giant silhouette jumped back as it bends its elbows. Lightning surged on its shoulders as it charges towards the enemy with a fast tackle, pushing the Monolith Dragon away.

“GRRRRRUUUUHHH….” The Crimson Dragonfly growled softly.

The Dance of the Five Elements does not stop there, as it is still about to commence its final attack. Five colorful orbs glowed from the golden humanoid silhouette’s body, spawning it from its arms, feet, and forehead, each representing the five basic elements. The colorful orbs swirled as it gathers towards the silhouette’s heart, creating a single gigantic white orb. The silhouette grabbed the white orb with its right fist, charging it with energy, and unleashed a powerful straight punch towards the Monolith Dragon’s chest!

“Haaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!” Z and I shouted with full force.

A powerful shockwave echoed from the Monolith Dragon’s back. The impact was so powerful that all the mechanical armor of the giant dragon was shattered to pieces.

“GRUUUUUUGGGHHHH!!!” The Monolith Dragon cried as it slowly fell down. It caused the collapse of several buildings behind it.

As soon as the Crimson Dragonfly was put down, the golden human silhouette faded into an exhausted girl wearing a witch’s hat. Using the Dracaryx temporarily stops the heartbeats of the dragonoid’s heart, thus also canceling the Vesryn Pulse. Now that Z is in her human form, it’s up to me to save her. I caught her in midair with my arms and carried her like a princess. Then, I used my chains to pull us to the nearest rooftop of the building around.

“Good job, Z.” I smiled at my dragonoid.

“You owe me a vacation.” Z weakly smiled. “A trip to the beach will be good.”

“Yeah, I’m working on it. So rest for now.” I caressed my dragonoid’s head.

As I gave her the warmth and comfort of my hug, my dragonoid closed her eyes as she was put to sleep. Dracaryx ultimately exhausts the dragonoid, so I’ll let her rest for now. The battle is over anyway.

Or so I thought.

Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed, shouting another spell that makes this war a lot more troublesome.

“Extended Clearance Authorized!” Zac Schneider rose from the debris and held his bleeding red eyes. “Deus Ex Dragonica!”

There was a surge of bluish-white light coming from the heavens, and it lit up the fallen Monolith Dragon. The mechanical dragon started repairing its own parts as if the dragon has fast regeneration properties. Forget regeneration, I sensed magical energy building up from the Monolith Dragon’s core. It’s armor thickened as twice as it was, and there are several mech extensions such as the Crimson Dragonfly gaining a tri-horned helmet and two giant mechanical arms spawning on its back. With its newfound power, the Monolith Dragon stood up, ready to continue the battle with twice as much firepower than before.

“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!” The enhanced Monolith Dragon roared. Its shout was so loud that it made a sonic boom that shattered all the glasses in this city.

“What the fuck...” I muttered. Now that my dragonoid have used all her energy, I won’t have any means to fight this ridiculously persistent giant monster.

“I am invincible.” Zac Schneider stood proud on top of his giant robot dragon. He’s wearing this satisfied smile even though his face is full of blood. The Vesryn Pulse and the Dracaryx are clearly wearing him out.

“You’re an arsehole!” I angrily pointed at the evil duke with a dirty finger.

Suddenly, the Crimson Dragonfly charged its mouth with particles and unleashed a photon beam towards me. I don’t have any means to evade, as it was meant to annihilate a couple of blocks in just an instant. But, I still have the means to block because my allies are on my side.

Just before the beam of light reaches me, a certain dragon knight carrying a shield jumped in front. He slammed his shield towards the ground as he shouted his magic’s name.

“Wall of Babylon!”

Gigantic castle walls were magically forged, raising it until it was thirty meters high. The bricked wall has one meter of thickness, but it is more than enough to block the photon blast because the Wall of Babylon itself is enhanced with magical energy, focused to repel any attack. The clash of an unstoppable force and an immovable object only lasted for twelve seconds. After the beam faded, the magical castle wall collapsed.

“Now that you’re useless, I’ll be in charge of the attack and defense.” Xenon smirked at me.

“Cheeky wanker.” I smiled back.

Xenon’s Nexus Barrier Dragon flew towards the Monolith Dragon and unleashed flower-bud-shaped orbs towards the head. As soon as the orbs collided with the Monolith Dragon, the buds would open into giant sakura barriers that would push the gargantuan mech dragon back. It’s not doing any damage at all, but the Crimson Dragonfly is pissed for being pushed to the corner.

“GRAAAAHHH!!!” The Monolith Dragon slammed its claws, trying to swat the flying Nexus Barrier Dragon like a fly.

Xenon’s dragon managed to block the first and second claw. But the Nexus Barrier Dragon completely forgot that the Crimson Dragonfly now has four arms. It barely managed to evade the third claw, but it didn’t see that the fourth claw is ready to smash it down.

“Serena!”

There was no time to think. Seeing those, Xenon’s instincts went active as his adrenaline surged. He jumped forward with his shield in front, charging towards the gigantic claw of the giant monster. With his whole strength, he blocked the giant claw smash with his shield. But it didn’t end well.

“Guhhhhh!!!”

The impact was powerful. There was a strong shockwave as soon as Xenon was launched and crashed to the ground like an asteroid. There was thick smoke on the point of impact. After three seconds, the smoke faded, revealing a crater with the size of a small house. And Xenon’s motionless body was lying there like a ragdoll.

“Xenon!” I cried out loud as I jumped from building to building until I finally arrived at the crash site. His form is horrible as if he had just got hit by a bus. There is blood gushing out from random parts of his body. I couldn’t sense any movement from him. I couldn’t sense any response. I can’t see his eyes because his bangs are covering it, so I don’t know if he’s asleep or dead.

“Senpai!” Serena rushed towards the scene second. Since Xenon sustained fatal damage, the Vesryn Pulse was deactivated, making the Nexus Dragon devolve back to a human form Serena. “Senpai! Senpai!” Serena cried, trying to shake up her dragon knight’s body. But there is no response.

“One dragon knight down, one dragonoid down. Now you two are just pesky weak humans without your slaves and masters.” Zac Schneider laughed as he gazed upon us from below. “You can’t beat me! You can’t beat the Crimson Dragonfly! This is the power of Arcadia!”

Serena bit her lip as she bowed. Tears started racing on her cheeks, and I can see her balling her fists. She slowly turned her gaze towards the fifty-meter-tall dragon and the evil duke sitting on the throne on its forehead.

“You… will… never… get… away… with… this…” Serena sniffed.

Suddenly, I felt a surge of magical energy on Serena. Not just that, but her form immediately changed. Her body was immediately enveloped with a tight white bodysuit to show off her amazing shape, and a pair of white angel wings spawned from her back. Her ears became elongated as if she is an elf. Her shiny black hair transformed into golden blonde. A blue orb appeared from her forehead, and a mark of red V appeared on her chest. Her presence is full of warmth that makes her look identical to a goddess.

Slowly, the transformed Serena levitated in the air. As she tightened her gaze towards the evil duke with her sparkling crimson eyes, Zac Schneider knew certainly that he will be delivered to destination fucked.

“Gott in Himmel...” Zac Schneider was frozen in fear. “Is that... Elform!?”
