Two weeks later-

Germany, Berlin, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Hospital-

Wearing a surgeon's gown, Asher entered an operating room, where several surgeons were making precision cuts on a dangerous tumor through the least invasive method they could.

"Mr. Asher, please extract the tumor and the loose cancerous cells, and we will handle the rest." The operating doctor said in rough English.

"Hm." Asher nodded and approached the patient, a 30-year-old woman with lung cancer.

Normally, they would need to make large cuts to remove the tumor, and even then, there was a significant risk of cancerous cells spreading throughout the body. With Asher's power, they could directly extract the separated tumor and loose cancerous cells before sealing the cut, thus significantly lowering the risks.

After the surgeon cut it, loosening the tumor, Asher Spatially Percieved it inside the woman and directly extracted it, placing it on a special plate, before removing all the loose cancerous cells, and even cleared some filth from her bloodstream for free.

"Done. Handle the rest." Asher said before walking away and exiting the room.

However, the doctors didn't think he was being rude. He had many other patients to help, and wasting time on courtesy would cost lives.

And indeed, after exiting the operating room, Asher removed the gown and gloves before teleporting to the next location, arriving in France, Saint Joseph Hospital in Paris, right on the roof.

"Sir Asher!" An agent who was waiting greeted him.

"Did you arrange the sick patients?" Asher asked, giving the agent a light nod while walking.

"Yes, Sir. We arranged for 300 carriers of deadly infections to arrive, suitable for your ability to cure." The agent said.

"I hope there won't be any more hiccups like time," Asher said.

"Rest assured, Sir! We reinforced our security detail for this event!" The agent said.

"Good. I want to wrap this up before dinner." Asher said.

During these two weeks, Asher has been busy and in contact with many NGOs, saving thousands of lives from incurable diseases. During this time, he also discovered some things about his power, and it could be said that he has mastered the powers of Spatial Swapping and Teleportation.

For Spatial Swapping, Asher could extract anything from a target, meaning he could extract loose things, such as cut-off organ parts, viruses, loose cancer cells, or blood, and he could also extract someone's heart, liver, spine, or brain. However, he had to Spatially Sense the items, or he couldn't do the extraction. Naturally, he wasn't interested in killing people, so he didn't do it.

On the other hand, he discovered that he could use Teleportation anywhere he could properly visualize. That means, if he had a panoramic picture of a location and knew its rough location, he could teleport there. In this way, Asher could teleport to many major landmarks without setting foot there.

He also received a special permit for cross-border teleportation from every country that agreed to his help. The only caveat was that he couldn't smuggle high-value items across borders, or the permit would be revoked. It was more of a trust thing.

After several hours of treating the hundreds of patients, Asher, who was mentally tired, finally teleported to his arranged safehouse, located in The Brando.

Knowing he was a high-priority target, and having saved many influential people, or merely to get priority treatment from him, Asher easily obtained a permanent 1-room villa in The Brando. While it costs over 2 million a year, it is chump change if it secures Asher's help.

"Hah... finally. Some peace and solitude." Asher sighed, massaging his aching head. "Using my powers all day is exhausting. There was also an old lady who was a suicidal assassin, trying to use a bead necklace filled with explosives to kill me three days ago. Fortunately, I refused to treat anyone who wasn't in a full medical gown, with all of his accessories removed. And another tried serving me a cup with Tritium, crazy bastards. Luckily, I don't eat or drink anything given to me, and buy it myself during my breaks in a random coffee shop or restaurant in another country. What's next? Putting C4 inside someone's stomach?"

The more Asher treated others, the more he realized the dangers of his new occupation. In just two weeks, there were no fewer than 20 attempts on his life, either from professionals or madmen. Most of them were caught by security, but two managed to slip, either from negligence or being sleeper agents.

It was sometimes so stressful that Asher considered whether he should start ghosting.

"If only my Spatial Barrier could be permanently erected, I wouldn't need to worry about any attempt on my life." Asher shook his head.

After the first few attempts on his life, Asher discovered a new ability - Spatial Barrier.

Its function was to use Spatial Storage as a barrier, letting anything that attacked him from outside enter the Spatial Storage space, including light and air. This made the barrier pitch-black, and the consumption was low as long as he didn't store large objects.

The only problem was that he couldn't permanently keep it up since he had to do things instead of being a turtle.

After taking a shower and a quick dinner from his Spatial Storage, since he was too lazy to order, he began to contemplate his situation.

"On the bright side, I don't take any money, so I don't owe anyone anything, and I can use the excuse of fearing for my life to not appear in public for the next week while those governments sort out their security," Asher muttered.

Those interested in killing him could be governments and Mega-Pharma corporations, and he expected that they would attempt to kill him initially. That was part of the risk he took.

"When the Esper age officially begins, I wouldn't need to worry as much. Or perhaps I should worry more? Whatever. I have a long day tomorrow."

The next day-

Asher looked at a slim smartwatch, the one he obtained from the other world. He had already charged it and was just waiting for an opportunity to use it.

As for bugs and spycams, he has already removed everything from the house with Spatial Perception and Spatial Swapping. And he did that routinely. After the first week, the security just stopped doing it, feeling helpless. If they insist he doesn't touch it, he could simply flip the bird and go somewhere else.

Closing the windows, Asher put on the watch and activated it. He then saw a screen in Mandarin that said what he believed was "Select Language.", with a list of available languages there.

"Lucky. If it only had one default language, I would be in trouble." Asher muttered and soon found the English option.

He then heard a genderless but pleasant voice.

"Hello, User! XiPi is at your service! To ask questions, please say my name!" The friendly voice asked.

"XiPi, you have voice commands?" Asher asked, intrigued.

"Affirmitive. XiPi is a high-gen Chatbot exclusive to the XuenMi series. Would you like to register your biological prints in the system?"

"Yes," Asher said.

"Registering... registered. Please sign the user agreement documents before proceeding."

He was then shown a long document. Of course, Asher couldn't care less about it. Skipping everything, he clicked the checkbox and the confirm button before proceeding.

"Confirmed. If you would like to update to the latest version, import files from another device, download apps, or create backup files, please connect to the Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can stay offline, but it isn't recommended." The smartwatch said.

"Stay offline." Asher didn't know how the watch would react once it connected to the Wi-Fi, and he wasn't in an ideal location.

"Affirmitive. How can XiPi help you, User?" XiPi asked.

"XiPi, what are you capable of?" Asher asked.

"The XuenMi 888 Smartwatch, created in 2125, is a lightweight recreational tool targeted at the civilian audience. It is equipped with 8.88 Petabytes of SD memory and 888 Terabytes of RAM, with an average service life of 88.8 years. The XuenMi 888 is also waterproof, heat-resistant, and bulletproof. You can even try smashing it with a metal hammer, and there wouldn't be a dent on it!" The smartwatch proudly said.

"Holy..." Asher was stunned. "You call THAT lightweight? You can beat the strongest supercomputers on Earth..."

"XiPi does not understand." The smartwatch said in a confused voice, showing a questioning emoji.

"Right... What are the things installed on you by default?" Asher curiously asked.

"The XuenMi 888 is installed with the latest XuanHuan 33 Operating system, a biological scanner, a camera, over 200 hours of battery life, 1.2 Petabytes of AI training material, and some Pegi-3 default light games. It is fully functional even without an internet connection, assuring maximum comfort and utility for all ages. ^_^" XiPi happily said.

"Did it just self-advertise itself?" Asher weirdly thought.

But then, he realized something.

"Wait... Did it just say it has 1.2 Petabytes of AI training material?! That's super heavyweight!" Asher was shocked.

"XiPi, are you a General AI?" Asher warily asked.

"Negative. XiPi has not reached the standard of a General AI, and the creation of self-aware AI is strictly forbidden worldwide." XiPi replied.

"Okay... Can I use you to hack other computers?" Asher asked.

"Certainly! There are no laws that restrict it. But the XuenMi 888 is a lightweight commercial product, and its hacking abilities are limited. It can perhaps only hack outdated computers before the Crystal Technology Revolution in 2080. Anything more advanced has a firewall that is too advanced for the XuenMi 888 to hack independently. Also, even if you hack a device, you a liable to legal repercussions if caught, so it is highly advised not to do it." XiPi patiently explained, still believing it was 2125.

But the only thing that the creators of the XuenMi 888 didn't anticipate was that someone from the past would time travel and bring it a hundred years back to 2025, where this commercial equipment suitable for young children could exert devastating power.

"Let's just hope I won't accidentally create Skynet." Asher warily thought.

"XiPi, does your Dataset include knowledge of the last 100 years, from 2125 to 2025?" Asher asked.

"XiPi is equipped with the lightweight 1.2PT dataset, including the concentrated knowledge and important events in human history, including the last 100 years. Of course, it also includes algorithms, famous academic works, etc." XiPi replied.

"Lightweight, it says... Makes me wonder what the heavyweight one looks like." Asher's lips twitched. "Okay... Time to determine if the place I visited is the future or an alternate world..."

"XiPi, who was the American president in 2025?" Asher asked.

"According to the Dataset, it was Maisie Gordon, the first female president in American history," XiPi replied.

"SAFE! Not the same timeline." Asher breathed out a sigh of relief.

He was always worried that the world would be destroyed in a hundred years. That wasn't the case.

"XiPi, are there Espers?" Asher curiously asked.

"Not outside fiction! But humans did genetically enhance themselves to the human limits and perfection through Crystal Technologies." XiPi answered.

"XiPi, you mentioned this before, but what is this so-called Crystal Technology?" Asher warily asked.

"Ah, classic history! In 2050, a group of leading scientists genetically engineered a special plant that revolutionized the world, called the Plantae Spei, the Plant of Hope. It was a special Fungus-Plant hybrid meant for energy production, producing a special type of high-energy crystal. At the same time, the plant itself was fully edible, making it a perfect crop plant. The only downside was that it was rather bland, but many still used it as a long-lasting nutritional paste. However, that same year, they also discovered its many uses in many other departments, including Material Creation and Genetic Modification.

However, due to many concerns, it became restricted, and only 30 years later, in 2080, did it become popular, thus beginning the Crystal Technology Revolution. Truly, it is the greatest milestone of the century. As of 2120, over 99.9% of the human population received genetic enhancements using crystal technologies!"

Asher suddenly turned silent before asking, "Er... XiPi, that fungus thing... Did it happen to be greyish-green with yellow warts?"

"Yes, that is correct! Here is an image of the Plantae Spei." XiPi said before showing an image on the smartwatch.

It was a pineapple-looking plant with greyish-green color, yellow warts, and a black crystal instead of a fruit.

"Fuck... I just found the source of the otherworld Apocalypse..."
