The novel that Xiu Mo was had been transmigrated into is actually called, Twisted Tomorrows. In fact, there is not one, but two protagonists in this novel. One being Chen Gaung the other being his adoptive brother, Chen Fu. Of course, the villian of this novel is Sheng Li. 

This novel is a story about Chen Gaung's first life as well as what happens after his second chance. However, Twisted Tomorrows is in fact a tragedy. Not a story of a hero going from weak to strong and becoming some type of legend.

No, this story is a tradgedy love story between the unlucky Chen Gaung and the ill Chen Fu. A love thats ill-fated. Although, Xiu Mo debates whether it could truly be called a love story, after all the two never formally get together.

You see, the first half of the novel, Twisted Tomorrows, takes place in ancient times. This half of the story explains Chen Gaung's first life as well as Chen Fu's first life as Fu Xi. 

The novel starts with a flashback to Chen Gaung's past, explaining as to why Chen Gaung considers himself unlucky. 

His mother was a popular prostitute, his father unknown. Due to his birth though, his mother soon fell out of favor and her body started to weaken. Because they were too poor since his mother could bring in no customers, he was unable to get his mother medical treatment, which only lead to her death.

Alone and without money, the young Chen Gaung could only become a beggar since his body was too weak and no one wished to hire him for manual labor. However, begging couldn't fill his belly so the only thing he could do was to steal.

And for once, lady luck blessed him. Because one day when he went out theiving, he stole the purse of Fu Xi, a rich but soft-hearted young master. After getting caught by Fu Xi's servants, Cheng Guang was not beaten and scolded like he had thought, but was instead taken in by the kind Fu Xi to be his servant.

Of course, that was the only time that lady luck had blessed him during that life, because it was soon found out that the gentle and kind Fu Xi was ill with not long to live. However, during their time together, both Chen Gaung and Fu Xi fell in love with one another.

But, Fu Xi was too kind hearted. Knowing that he would die soon and that he could never be with Chen Gaung, he decided to hide his feelings. After all, as long as he didn't speak of his feelings, Chen Gaung could still marry someone else. But, even when knowing he wouldn't live long, Chen Gaung still professed his feelings for Fu Xi.

Of course, Fu Xi rejected him, even if he wished with all of his heart to be with him. Even so, Chen Gaung did not give up, both on his feelings for Fu Xi and on trying to find a way to cure him.

Unable to watch as Chen Gaung worked tirelessly to point of risking his life, the stupid Fu Xi chose to commit suicide, after all it didn't matter if he died today or a month later. However, the kind Fu Xi chose to be a little selfish for once and met with Chen Gaung that night to profess his feelings for him.

The happy Chen Gaung wanted to start a relationship with Fu Xi, but the foolish Fu Xi rejected him. After he left, he committed suicide inside his room, his blood staining the the wood flooring that Chen Gaung had just washed that morning.

Finding Fu Xi dead the next morning, Chen Gaung almost went insane. The grieving parents of Fu Xi blamed Cheng Guang for Fu Xi's death, as a servant had heard their conversation that night. 

As you can guess, only tragedy awaited Chen Gaung, however the story didn't stop there, no, it continued.

Both Chen Gaung and Fu Xi were reborn, though only Chen Gaung had his memories. In this life however, Fu Xi became Chen Fu, Chen Gaung's adoptive brother. 

Once again though, they were left as nothing but a bittersweet tragedy.

Thinking of Twisted Tomorrows, Xiu Mo couldn't help but start to rant silently. That whole novel was nothing but a pit! A deep pit that the author made for all the readers to jump into!

Suddenly, Xiu Mo felt a warm and soft hand touch his cheek, scratching at his heart like a cat paw. Tilting his head up, Xiu Mo met the concerned eyes of Sheng Li. 

With just one look into those eyes, Xiu Mo's heart immediately turned into a puddle of water. With such a sweet little villian with him, Xiu Mo felt comforted just looking at him. Gazing at Sheng Li with eyes brimming with tender emotions, Xiu Mo slowly touched the cute little paw that had been scratching at his heart.

After taking Sheng Li's hand into his own, Xiu Mo once again looked up only to notice that a certain strand of Sheng Li's hair was sticking out. Finding it silly and endearing, Xiu Mo lifted his hand to smooth out Sheng Li's hair gently. (Don't lie, get your tofu stealing hands off him! QAQ)

Chuckling softly to himself, Xiu Mo asked, "How are you so cute?" 

With Xiu Mo's hands wreaking havoc on the top of his head, Sheng Li looked extremely pitiful as he looked blankly at Xiu Mo, his eyes showing how lost he was.

Finding Sheng Li to be too adorable, Xiu Mo couldn't help but want to hug the cute little hamster villian. So, with that in mind, the tofu eating Xiu Mo tugged the silly Sheng Li into his embrace, circling nis waist with his arms into a tight embrace.
