The Sect Master watched the two of them for a while before he cleared his throat. Yu Jin didn’t seem to notice. He just continued to slowly paint.

Meanwhile, the other disciple looked up and then leaped to his feet when he saw just who had come to see them. "Sect Master!" He straightened up and put on a smile that seemed a little nervous but also a little eager.

Yuchi Bing Xia smiled back while he couldn’t help but wonder if he should be worried. He hadn’t thought of it before but as his disciple, Yu Jin was probably somebody that people might want to befriend for some kind of benefits they expected to get. He really hoped this wasn’t the case and that this person was indeed spending time with him because he liked to do that but he couldn’t rule that possibility out.

Before he could decide to question this person a little more closely, Yu Jin put away the brush. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he turned around and also got up. He cupped his fists and then bowed. "Master."

Yuchi Bing Xia gave a hum and then went over, glancing at the painting on the table. It was a courtyard with the silhouette of a tree in the back. Some leaves were descending to the ground but right in the middle, there was an empty space. It seemed as if Yu Jin had painted from the outside to the inside and then not been able to finish because he had interrupted him. He couldn’t help but wonder if there was some more meaning to this painting or if it was just something he had done on a whim. He didn’t ask though since there was still an outsider you with them. "Yu Jin, how are you doing?"

Yu Jin nodded, stepping to the side so his Master could sit down if he wanted to. "Very well." He didn’t say anything else and didn’t ask why Yuchi Bing Xia had come either.

The Sect Master sighed and then indeed took a seat. If he didn’t, these two would probably stand the whole time as well. He motioned at the seat opposite him.

The other disciple moved back, leaving the seat to Yu Jin. He glanced at the Sect Master again before he turned to Yu Jin. "Your Master came to see you, I should probably leave then."

Yu Jin looked at him and then turned to his Master, waiting for him to say something as if it wasn’t his decision to make.

Yuchi Bing Xia hesitated. He wanted his disciple to have friends. If this person was somebody he was indeed close to, then it would be nice if they could get along well and spend more time together. Sending this person with him on that mission would be very good. If he could, he would want to have him stay and listen to what the matter was. But unfortunately, he didn’t know anything about this person. Maybe their relationship wasn’t as good as he thought? Then it wouldn’t be good to have him stay around.

In the end, Yuchi Bing Xia gave that other disciple a smile. "I didn’t want to disturb the two of you in your meeting. It’s just that some information came up and I think that it would be good for Yu Jin to be involved in this. I hope you don’t mind."

The other disciple cupped his fists and bowed. "How could I mind this? It is Yu Jin’s luck to have a Master who thinks of him when something comes up. I will take my leave then." He turned to Yu Jin and nodded before he turned around and left the room.

Yu Jin also nodded in response but didn’t say anything. It seemed nothing much had changed in the last five years.

Yuchi Bing Xia sighed when he saw him like this and then leaned back, giving him a long look. "Who was that just now?"

Yu Jin glanced at him before he lowered his gaze again. "Qiguan Cheng Da."

The Sect Master looked at his disciple, waiting for him to elaborate but, unfortunately, Yu Jin didn’t seem to want to do him the favor. He could only smile helplessly. "And who is that Qiguan Cheng Da to you? A friend? Or just an acquaintance?"

Yu Jin kept quiet before he looked at his Master again. "A fellow disciple."

Yuchi Bing Xia’s brows twitched. That was the least informative answer he had ever gotten. Well, if Yu Jin didn’t want to talk about it, he wouldn’t force him. Anyway, the issue at hand was grave. He shouldn’t bother him with anything else now.

The Sect Master took out the letter that Grandmaster Zhangsun had given him and handed it to his disciple. "The Grandmaster’s disciple is currently outside traveling with this fiance. Today, a message of theirs reached us. I think that this is something you should know about."

Yu Jin looked at him blankly and then took the letter, glancing over it. In the end, he just folded the letter up and handed it back, looking at his Master as if waiting for him to say something.

Yuchi Bing Xia really wished his disciple would be a little more communicative. Didn’t he have anything to say? Was he happy to find out that the demonic practitioners were still around so he could take revenge for him or was he sad that his Master still hadn’t been avenged and these people were still running around, alive and well? Was there nothing he wanted to say?

Unfortunately, even though he waited a moment longer, Yu Jin kept quiet. He could only continue. "These should be the same people that you and the others were looking for the last time. It seems that you couldn’t find them because they were hidden below the village. Now that we know, I was thinking of sending you and a few of the others back there to take care of the matter. What do you think about this?"

Yu Jin hesitated but then looked up and shook his head. "Actually, I don’t think this is a good idea."

Yuchi Bing Xia raised his brows. This response … It definitely wasn’t what he had expected. For a moment, he didn’t even know how to react.
