With Song Mu having left, the couple returned to its own world. Yun Bei Fen was naturally eager to try out what he had just comprehended. He raised his hand, looking at Mei Chao Bing questioningly to make sure he hadn’t done anything wrong yet and then started to gather his spiritual energy when he got his nod of approval.

After all the work on being able to construct a shield of energy, making a simple ball that didn’t even need to be sized evenly wasn’t hard for him at all. Thus, in just a few seconds, the first step had already been completed.

Mei Chao Bing nodded with satisfaction. "Very good! Now, the next step would be to throw it." He looked around and then just pointed at a spot on the ground. "Try throwing it there first. I will erect an energy shield there so it won’t cause any damage."

Usually, it probably would be best if he could ask Yun Bei Fen to attack him directly. After all, he would likely use the skill later on to defend himself against other people. But knowing his little bunny, he would never be able to actually throw an attack at him. Asking him to do so was just wasting time.

In fact, he wasn’t sure if Yun Bei Fen wouldn’t start to cry if he even so much as suggested the possibility. He definitely wouldn’t be able to handle seeing his little bunny’s tears. Thus just choosing a random spot was still the better alternative.

Yun Bei Fen nodded, having no problem with that. He raised his hand and then moved it, hoping that the ball would just fly forward like it had before when Mei Chao Bing demonstrated the skill.

Unfortunately, nothing happened. The ball of spiritual energy stayed on his hand, not moving even a hair’s breadth.

Yun Bei Fen blinked his eyes and then turned to look at his hand, an adorably stupid expression on his face.

The corners of Mei Chao Bing’s mouth twitched and he forcibly pressed them down so his little bunny wouldn’t feel that he was laughing at him. Anyway, this was a new thing he was supposed to learn. Naturally, it wouldn’t work out immediately. If it did, his little bunny would be the kind of genius that was seen only once in millions of years.

Yun Bei Fen continued to look at his hand and then just turned back to the spot on the ground, repeating the movement. Naturally, nothing about the outcome changed. He furrowed his brows and then turned to Mei Chao Bing. "It’s not working. It’s stuck."

This time, Mei Chao Bing couldn’t keep himself from smiling. "Yes, that’s exactly what I meant before. You’re generating the shield or the energy ball directly on your hand. What you need to do is learn how to move it. Not by actually moving your hand but by moving the spiritual energy."

"But you moved your hand as well." He had seen that. After all, he had watched really closely what Mei Chao Bing did.

Mei Chao Bing nodded and generated another small energy ball. "That’s true. But I didn’t do that to actually throw it. Watch this." He pointed upward with one finger, a small energy ball sitting at the tip. Focusing on it, he made it move upward and then circle around his hand.

Yun Bei Fen’s eyes turned wide and the spiritual energy ball in his hand disappeared. Instead, he came closer, taking a long look at the little spark above Mei Chao Bing’s hand. "How are you doing this?"

Mei Chao Bing’s smile became even more pronounced. "You don’t move your hand, just the spiritual energy. Think of how you take it in: You have to draw it over to you and then take it into your body. In this case, it’s exactly the other way around. You gather the energy in your body, push it out, and then move it away from you."

Yun Bei Fen nodded like a chicken pecking rice, feeling that it made a lot of sense when Mei Chao Bing said it like this. "Then the movement …?"

"The movement is just there as a kind of guidance. You want to make sure that you throw the energy the right way. Sometimes, it’s easier if you do it with your hand. You make the energy follow the direction of your movement so that it will hit what it is supposed to hit. You don’t necessarily need to do it but especially at the beginning, it is helpful."

Yun Bei Fen nodded, feeling that everything started to make sense now.

Mei Chao Bing took back the spiritual energy he had just used and motioned for Yun Bei Fen to give it another try. "It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work out the first few times. Just keep trying until you get it right."

With Mei Chao Bing’s encouragement, Yun Bei Fen raised his hand again and generated another ball of spiritual energy. Then, he tried to move it. The results … Well, it could not be said that it didn’t work. The spiritual energy did indeed move. It was just that the speed at which it did so was very slow. Also, who knew if it was his intention but the energy was wavering from side to side, obviously not stable at all. The further it got away from his skin, the worse it actually got.

Mei Chao Bing didn’t say anything and just let him try further. Anyway, he had already seen Yun Bei Fen’s way of learning. This right now was him getting a feeling for how to do it. After letting him experiment and then repeat it a couple of times, things would already look much better. So he wasn’t worried at all that his little bunny wouldn’t manage to learn. He just had to give him enough time.
