Mei Chao Bing barely managed to catch himself before they made contact with the treetops. He pulled Yun Bei Fen closer against his chest and turned in the air before he continued to fall. He did make the effort to slow their fall though and naturally, he used some of his spiritual energy to snap the biggest branches before they could collide with them. He couldn’t risk that anything would happen to Yun Bei Fen, after all.
Finally, they crashed into the ground. Mei Chao Bing made a show of groaning and rolling to the side, trapping his little junior in his arms and burying him by half. Then, he pretended to have passed out.
Yun Bei Fen lay below Mei Chao Bing with his eyes wide open. They had just fallen from the sky! Ow, his knees … He reached down and rubbed them, only to find that the fabric of his robe had torn and his skin was scrapped. Oh no! What would senior martial brother Mei say when he saw him like this? Wouldn’t he think he was useless?!
Thinking of him … Yun Bei Fen turned to the side and tried to look into his face but it was buried in his neck, his hair covering most of it. Yun Bei Fen waited but his senior martial brother didn’t get up. In fact, he didn’t move at all.
Yun Bei Fen’s heartbeat picked up. It couldn’t be that something had happened to him, could it?! He reached up and gently shook his shoulder.
"Senior martial brother Mei?"
He didn’t get a reaction. Yun Bei Fen’s eyes widened even further. Oh no! He really was hurt! What should he do now?!
He tried to push Mei Chao Bing off him to at least take a look but the older man was too heavy for him to move from this position. Yun Bei Fen’s eyes teared up. "This is all my fault. I’m so sorry, senior martial brother Mei! You already told me you needed a break from flying so fast but I didn’t say we should descend immediately. Uwu, why didn’t I say it? Now you’re like this … And I can’t even get you any help! I’m not useful at all. I’m just making trouble for you. You shouldn’t have met me at all! It’s all my fault!"
Mei Chao Bing frowned. He had hoped his little bunny would get a little worried on his behalf and maybe try to take care of him, showing off his love so that they could get closer. But how come the little person was instead sobbing his eyes out now?!
He really wanted to go and ask Elder Baili just how he had raised Yun Bei Fen.
Mei Chao Bing made an effort to twitch a little and groan again before shifting to the side, his head now coming to lie a little further from Yun Bei Fen so he would be able to take a look. This should probably calm him down a bit?
Yun Bei Fen froze when the person he was apologizing to moved and even made a sound. He held his breath but called out again when he didn’t hear anything else. "Senior martial brother Mei?"
Mei Chao Bing kept quiet. He had already pretended to this extent. He certainly wouldn’t stop before he hadn’t been rewarded for his effort at least a little!
Yun Bei Fen panicked once again when everything remained silent. This time he could at least turn to the side though. When he did he came face to face with Mei Chao Bing. His breath caught all on its own this time and for a moment, he forgot that he should check for injuries. Instead, he just looked at the person he admired.
Ah, Mei Chao Bing … he was so handsome.
Yun Bei Fen couldn’t help but reach out, his fingertips lightly touching Mei Chao Bing’s cheek. The smooth skin emitted a normal temperature, calming his heart a little. Well, at least it made the rest of his worries go away. His little heart was still beating wildly. He inched closer to him until his breath tickled his neck.
Mei Chao Bing almost shuddered. Somehow he wasn’t too sure anymore if this had been a good idea. What if he couldn’t hold back? Doing something that couldn’t be undone here in the wilderness … that wasn’t the way he should treat Yun Bei Fen.
A certain little rabbit didn’t know the danger he was in. Instead, his hand moved, his fingers brushing along Mei Chao Bing’s cheekbone, his thumb caressing his brow …
Mei Chao Bing was sure that this kind of treatment might even have been able to make him rise if he had died from that fall just now. At least, it made it very hard to suppress his vital energy.
Yun Bei Fen’s fingers followed the straight line of Mei Chao Bing’s nose from the root to the tip and finally arrived at his lips. Touching them, he suddenly felt himself to be at a loss. What was he supposed to do now? These lips … These were the lips that had kissed him right now. For the second time.
He looked at them, noticing that it was a very nice pair of lips. A little thin, a little pale, but somehow they also seemed very manly. And kissing them had felt really good.
Yun Bei Fen retracted his fingers and hesitated but finally, his curiosity won over his common sense. He cupped Mei Chao Bing’s cheeks, leaned down further and gave him another kiss.
Thankfully, he had closed his eyes. Otherwise, he would have seen that a certain someone was only pretending to be hurt because Mei Chao Bing’s eyes sprang right open at the light touch, staring incredulously at Yun Bei Fen.
Seriously, Elder Baili, how did you teach this boy?! Is kissing someone what you should do when the other person is unconscious?! Not that he was complaining though …
Please restore YBF's brain cells I hope his character grows and matures more . So he can use his head and not be so dense, not knowing how to help someone or look out for himself.
Still it was a cute, funny chapter. Thank you. ???
He's still a child at heart and in his head as well. The latter might change but I guess the former will stay true
@yansusustories He can stay a child at heart thats fine lol but he needs more in his brain, more growth and knowledge and experience to handle matters himself, otherwise he would be just a pretty face lol.
What would poor MCB go through always having to shield and protect him from danger of he can't defend himself, and as partners they need to look out for each other.. Story is still amazing btw, you write really well. That just keeps throwing me off lol
@AutumnLeaves Aw, thanks for the compliment!
Tbh, that was kinda the idea behind this story Like, Yun Bei Fen is about twenty for the main part of the story. Half of that time was spent being spoiled by his Master and senior martial brothers and a quarter in closed-door cultivation. He has no experience to speak of so he still behaves like a child or maybe a teen. He first needs to make experiences and go through some trouble before he can shake that off and become as mature as Mei Chao Bing already is thanks to the very different way he grew up. They're kind of polar opposites that may or may not be able to help each other gain what they're missing. Or so I say
@yansusustoriesb Hehe, no problem ?. Hmm. Yeah, that makes since. Growth comes with experience. And he never left the sect. Hehe. I look forward to his growth, maturity and further chapters.. Now I'm just enjoy it lol their so cute. Ah, my heart
@AutumnLeaves Yeah, the fluff is guaranteed with these two
@yansusustories Hehe. Yes. Although, I am intrigued in the angst that will appear in the story. I'm eager to keep reading. I'm eager to ask you and spoil it for myself lol (though you probably wouldn't tell me). But I am trying not to. I wanna enjoy it with spoiling but at the same time... Ah I am indecisive lol. Internal struggle.??
@AutumnLeaves Actually, I unwittingly spoil when asked the right questions. Sometimes even for stuff that hasn't been written yet. There's nothing I can do. It just happens
@yansusustories Ahh. Lol. That's ok. I'm sure its not so bad. ?.
@AutumnLeaves I try to remember giving spoiler warnings so I hope so
@yansusustories Kk. ? ? I'm sure
