Apparently, I had a double release scheduled for today so here you go!

The group went over to the place that Yuan Lei had spotted and stood at its edge for a moment to take a closer look. Standing directly between the smooth ground in front and the rough-looking one behind them, even Di Huan Bo who had been denying what Yuan Lei said before, couldn’t help but admit that there definitely was something wrong with this place. It just couldn’t be natural.

Yang Wu Huang stared at the ground, trying to figure out if this might be the base for some kind of spell. Unfortunately, he really couldn’t come up with anything relevant. He furrowed his brows, not quite sure how to proceed. He had already thrown out the excuse that they couldn’t survey from above because that had been how one of the disciples had been attacked the last time but now, that seemed to be the next logical step.

The other disciples seemed to think of something similar since everyone but Yun Bei Fen looked from Yang Wu Huang to Yuan Lei and then back again, waiting for what these two would be saying now. Clearly, there was a need to do something. They couldn’t just stand here and continue to wait in the hope that something would happen and tell them what they needed to know.

Yang Wu Huang cleared his throat and finally decided on some kind of compromise. "We should probably check this from above. In light of what happened the other time, I would suggest that several people do so together." Looking at the others, he finally motioned at Di Huan Bo, Yuan Lei, and Kui Min. "Looking at everyone’s level, the three of you should go."

This time, nobody argued. Even though Kui Min and Yuan Lei didn’t trust Yang Wu Huang much, they also figured that this would be the best way. With this, Ao Jing and Yang Wu Huang would be left behind as two of the stronger members of the group, while the weaker ones Yun Bei Fen and Yi Ju would not be in too much danger. This was definitely the best way to go about this. They couldn’t argue with that.

The three of them grabbed their swords and rushed into the air, quickly surveying their surroundings in all directions before they returned, shaking the head.

"There’s nothing there, senior martial brother Yang. Just this circular shape. Other than that, there’s nothing out of the ordinary."

Yang Wu Huang furrowed his brows. He certainly hadn’t expected this. It seemed that this whole matter was more difficult to solve than expected.

Ao Jing couldn’t help but speak up and make a suggestion. "Maybe we should go and inform the Elders about this?" In any case, Elder Baili had said that they should return and just report that they had found something if they couldn’t make sense of it themselves. By now, he really couldn’t imagine how they were supposed to continue investigating. Thus, it would be best to leave this be for the moment and just return. In any case, with how far outside they were, they would take quite some time to get back. If they stayed to investigate longer, they might not be able to make it in time.

Yang Wu Huang narrowed his eyes, thinking about his options. Logically speaking, what Ao Jing said was one and probably the best possibility of dealing with this. But to be honest, he wasn’t resigned to it. In his mind, he wasn’t any worse than Mei Chao Bing. So why should he lack behind in his achievements?

He had already failed to surpass him in terms of cultivation speed back then because Elder Feng was cultivating Mei Chao Bing more seriously than his Master done for him, and now, he still wasn’t able to measure up to this traitor in terms of achievements on this mission. This was simply unbearable!

Mei Chao Bing had managed to find the map of the Teng Yong Sect and had also been part of the group that found the mural, so he had been the one who was sent to go and report to the Zhen Yan and Jian Chu Sect despite his status as a traitor’s disciple.

Because of that, Yang Wu Huang had even lost out on the glory of having the achievement of finding a clue. After all, he hadn’t been able to investigate carefully and had needed to sacrifice some of the other disciples so that he could follow Mei Chao Bing’s group. But then, because of Mei Chao Bing’s reaction, he hadn’t been able to join in that glory either. And the investigation of the array that he had found, had now also been given to another group that was then once again was joined by Mei Chao Bing.

How could he feel resigned? By now, he felt that this clearly had to be because of Mei Chao Bing’s relationship with Yun Bei Fen. Somehow, he had managed to seduce Elder Baili’s youngest disciple and thus, had managed to pull the Elder onto his side.

It really wasn’t a wonder. Everybody in the Teng Yong Sect knew that Elder Baili was fiercely protective of his disciples. That was true for the first three and even more so for the last one. Whether it was him or the three older disciples under him, they all loved this little junior to bits. So being able to gain his heart was naturally also getting a handle on these four people’s weaknesses.

Mei Chao Bing had definitely made use of that to gain opportunities. He wouldn’t believe that it was different for even a single moment. In that case, his own situation was truly too unfair but there was nothing he could do to change that. He could only work harder and think of plans to counter this. And right now, the best opportunity he had was to brilliantly solve this situation. Finding a clue that another group had overlooked and then being able to figure out what it meant would definitely be something that would put him at the same level as Mei Chao Bing. Even if Elder Baili didn’t want to accept that, Elder Xing would soon return. Then he could intervene.

Yang Wu Huang who had no idea that both Elder Baili and Elder Xing were already wary of him, imagined a beautiful future. As such, he naturally didn’t listen to Ao Jing and shook his head. "No, I think it is too early to just give up. Let’s first investigate a little more. If we still can’t find any further clues from this, then we can still go back. It won’t be too late by then."
