Zhi Guan gave the disciples a bit more time to rest before they started to make their way back to the other side of the building. Since they had already taken his way once and were pretty sure that there really weren’t any demonic practitioners around, this stretch of the way didn’t take as much time.

Also, since there were stronger disciples around now, it wasn’t a problem to pick up the younger ones and just fly through the corridors with them, once again cutting down the time they needed significantly. Still, it was already in the early morning hours when they finally made it back to the array.

Yun Bei Fen had fallen asleep in Mei Chao Bing’s arms sometime through the journey, but the other disciples were still wide awake.

Kui Min stared at the back of Zhi Guan’s head, a little unable to believe that she was once again able to accompany him on this kind of journey. Actually, this was already the second time that he was saving her from this kind of situation. Even though she might not have been abducted by demonic practitioners this time, she still felt that being abducted by Yang Wu Huang because he wasn’t willing to listen to the Elders was pretty much the same. She hadn’t felt any safer. Now though, that had changed. When they reached the array, she had to let go of him though, and just took the occasional glance at him.

A few steps away, Shen Lei couldn’t help but watch the two of them, feeling that this was really quite curious. Then again, he knew that despite how Zhi Guan was, he was still popular with the juniors. Well, he was afraid that little girl would be quite disappointed though. Zhi Guan hadn’t given her even a second glance after picking her up. Clearly, there was still nothing in that head of his other than his sword and his own juniors.

At Zhi Guan’s gesture, everyone stepped into the array and imbued their spiritual energy, making the lines light up. Then, after just a heartbeat, they arrived back at the cave and made their way back to the main one where he had had one of the groups wait.

Seeing Zhi Guan and his group come back and even bring some additional people, the disciples that were waiting there couldn’t help but raise their brows. In fact, other than this group that had been told to explore this place further and note down more information about the arrays, there were also some others that had returned early, meaning that there had been quite a bit of information gathered by now.

Zhi Guan nodded at the disciples of his group to go and sit down at the side and rest up, while he and the leader of the Zhen Yan Sect’s disciples went over to discuss with the others, making sure that everyone was up to date on the information they needed.

Making sure to record the information from the others and then telling them about what their group had found, Zhi Guan turned to the disciple of the Zhen Yan Sect. "What are you going to do now?"

She looked back at the disciples of her sect, a pensive expression on her face. "Well, after sending a couple of them back to inform the Elder, there aren’t many left. I’d say it would be best to have the ones going now ask for a few more disciples to be sent back. That way, we can be of more help. Also, by now, there should be enough information to send to the other sects. Maybe we will get some help from them as well.

Zhi Guan nodded. Whatever help they could get, it was a good thing. With each person, there would be a new safety net for the other disciples. "I think that it would be best to wait here until the other groups have returned. If you want to, you can send some disciples in that time. Some of us could also accompany them if that’s better."

The disciple shook her head. "No need. I think that they will be able to take care of that task themselves. But it’s good if you are waiting here. I wouldn’t want to miss out on the rest." She smiled and then gave him a faint nod before she waved two of the disciples over and gave them the task. The disciples immediately went out, taking a copy of the information back to the Zhen Yan Sect.

The leading disciple stayed behind, watching them leave, and then turned back to Zhi Guan. "There’s one thing that I would like to ask about."

Zhi Guan merely nodded, giving her the go-ahead. He clearly wasn’t a person of many words.

The disciple hesitated for a moment, not quite sure how to bring it up. In the end, she sighed. "Asking this might be a bit presumptuous but I was wondering about the thing that happened before in that underground palace." She nodded toward Mei Chao Bing who was sitting with Yun Bei Fen, just holding him while he slept. "This person is …"

Zhi Guan also looked over but wasn’t quite sure how to explain. What she wanted to know was pretty clear. But in any case, since that Yang Wu Huang had already mentioned it at that time, there wasn’t a reason either to hold anything back. "Mei Chao Bing. He was the last disciple taken in by Elder Feng. The day when Elder Feng betrayed our Teng Yong Sect and the righteous faction, he was the one who alarmed everyone."

The disciple of the Zhen Yan Sect nodded. "I see. It cannot have been easy for him."

Zhi Guan gave a rather noncommittal grunt. In any case, he didn’t know Mei Chao Bing’s exact situation. But he really couldn’t imagine that it was anything good. After all, they had just seen how Yang Wu Huang treated him. Clearly, that was not the respect a senior martial brother should get.

To say that this wouldn’t have to do with Elder Feng’s betrayal would be stupid. So it was pretty clear that he had suffered the consequences for what his Master had done even though he had reacted in the right way. He was a bit pitiful when you thought about it like this. "Our Teng Yong Sect has shown you something rather ridiculous back there. I’m sorry."

The disciple shook her head. "There will always be a couple of bad apples in every sect. You should take a closer look at that Yang Wu Huang or whatever he was called though. I feel like he’ll be making more trouble for you if you don’t keep an eye on him. The situation here is definitely something that he should never be involved in."

Zhi Guan nodded, feeling exactly the same as she did. "I wonder why my Master sent him in the first place." This was something that he really couldn’t understand. Hadn’t his Master even mentioned before that this person and his little junior didn’t quite get along? Then why send them somewhere together? That was the question he really wanted an answer to but the was nothing he could do at the moment. Thus, he just kept quiet.

The disciple of the Zhen Yan Sect also didn’t ask any further and just stood to the side, waiting for the disciples of her sect to return.
