When the two of them returned, Yun Bei Fen was still training patiently. He had actually noticed that Mei Chao Bing left and had been a little miffed but he also understood that there were things that his senior martial brother needed to do where he just couldn’t accompany him. It was probably something very important if he actually left him alone for that. Thus, he just waited patiently and tried to do his best to make some more progress in the meantime.

Seeing him like this, Mei Chao Bing smiled and then lightly called out. "Fen’er!"

Yun Bei Fen immediately stopped what he was doing and turned around with a big smile, rushing over, and jumping into Mei Chao Bing’s arms. "You’re back!"

Mei Chao Bing couldn’t help but think that his fiance was really too adorable. He leaned down and gave him a kiss, his gaze softening while his heart melted inside. "I am. Your senior martial brother Shen and I went to try something out. You know, he brought something back from the sect when he went to deliver the information. Do you want to have a look?"

Yun Bei Fen actually wasn’t that interested but since Mei Chao Bing looked as if he wanted to show him, he naturally nodded his head obediently.

Shen Lei was able to see what was going on there and couldn’t help but smirk. That little rascal! He actually didn’t care about anything but that senior martial brother Mei of his, didn’t he?

He leaned down, rubbing his head forcefully. "You know, the thing I brought back was something that your senior martial brother Mei asked me to bring back. How does that sound?"

Yun Bei Fen’s eyes widened a bit and he looked up at Mei Chao Bing, only feeling that this matter was getting more interesting.

Mei Chao Bing just laughed and then pulled out the ribbon, showing it to him. "It’s for Xiao Hui. Where is he?"

Yun Bei Fen’s eyes widened and he turned around, looking through the courtyard as if he had once again no idea where his spiritual beast had been left behind. Finally, he managed to spot him in the corner, resting next to Da Hei. Clearly, the little spiritual beast had already figured out just where he would be safest.

Yun Bei Fen yelped and then rushed over, picking him up and bringing him back to Mei Chao Bing with glittering eyes. "He’s here!"

Both Xiao Hui and Da Hei looked up at Mei Chao Bing, the little bunny looking a bit startled while the midnight wolf just lazily closed his eyes again after making sure that Mei Chao Bing was there.

Mei Chao Bing really didn’t quite know what to do with his little bunny when he watched the scene unfold. He should probably take some more time to show him just how to take care of a spiritual beast. It really was a pity that they were currently in the border region. If it had been back at the sect, he would’ve been able to teach him much better when it regarded this kind of thing. Well, it couldn’t be changed.

Holding up the ribbon, he motioned at Xiao Hui’s fur. "It’s a collar for him to wear. You’ll be able to find him with this in case you lose him again. You have to imbue your spiritual energy first though."

Shen Lei glanced at him and then couldn’t help but lean closer. "You forgot the part where you explain to him that his spiritual sense isn’t that evolved and that you could also do it for him."

Mei Chao Bing glanced at him, clearly not quite on board with Shen Lei’s idea even though they had talked about it before.

Yun Bei Fen looked from one person to the other, not quite sure what to do. Naturally, he would always follow Mei Chao Bing’s words before following those of anyone else. This was the case even if the other person was his Master, not to mention Shen Lei. But what Shen Lei said in this case definitely did ring true and if the alternative of having him do something was Mei Chao Bing doing it, then he definitely trusted that Mei Chao Bing would be able to do it better than him. Thus, he was really confused this time.

Seeing Yun Bei Fen’s expression, Mei Chao Bing sighed and reached out, gently rubbing his head. "Well, your senior martial brother Shen isn’t wrong. Right now, your ability to use your spiritual sense isn’t that well-developed. So unless you are close to Xiao Hui, it could still be a bit difficult to use this. My chances would be better. But I’m also thinking that this is only a temporary problem. With time and more practice, I’m sure that you will be able to master this technique. And then, you definitely wouldn’t need me to do it for you."

Shen Lei glanced at Mei Chao Bing, feeling that he was really a bit too humble. Even if he hadn’t noticed before that he was probably hiding his level, a disciple in the late core formation stage was still much stronger than a disciple of Yun Bei Fen’s level. Not to mention his proficiency with his skills.

Yun Bei Fen who only knew three so far definitely wouldn’t be able to catch up anytime soon. After all, the spiritual sense would be honed with every skill you learned to use your spiritual energy for. So it might take years or even decades for him to catch up.

He glanced at the ribbon and then couldn’t help but poke it. "You know that this isn’t the be-all and end-all, right? Junior martial brother Yan made one but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t able to make another one. If Yun Bei Fen really gets better in the future, we can just ask him to make a new one for his little junior. Until then — and especially while we are in the border region — I would really say that it is better if you do it. Imagine if he lost the little bunny somewhere in the demonic faction’s territory. What then? Do you want him to go in there and find him? Isn’t it better for you to do it so he wouldn’t have to brave any danger?"

Yun Bei Fen was still confused but this time, Shen Lei had actually managed to convince Mei Chao Bing.

He sighed and finally twisted the ribbon between his fingers. "Alright, then I’ll do it if you don’t mind, Fen’er."

Yun Bei Fen naturally shook his head. "You go ahead!" In any case, he and Mei Chao Bing doing something was pretty much the same thing. After all, they would always be together.
