Blue butterfly noticed that something was wrong with his expression. She raised her brows and couldn’t help but interrupt her story. “What’s the matter?”

Mei Chao Bing hesitated but then glanced at Yun Bei Fen. “Fen’er’s third senior martial brother seems to have acquired an ability. It’s just that it’s different from what you’ve described so far. Actually, it seems like what he has is the exact same ability the red priest has.” Saying this, he recounted what had happened with Luo Lin and Shen Lei in detail, not even leaving out the tests they had done to see whether he would be able to heal Shen Lei again.

Blue butterfly’s expression was grave and she stayed quiet for a while. Tong Chen had mostly told her about Mei Chao Bing and what the other side might be planning. As for this matter, she hadn’t known about it. Now that it was suddenly brought up, she had trouble wrapping her head around this.

Mei Chao Bing didn’t say anything either. In the grand scheme of things, maybe getting this answer wasn’t that important but he still wanted to know. Actually, finding out about this might also allow them to find out more about what the other side was doing. After all, there had clearly been several of their opponents who had an ability similar to white jade. They still didn’t know what was up with that.

Blue butterfly finally shook her head. “I can’t tell you. Not without seeing him. In fact, it would be best if everyone could take a look.”

Mei Chao Bing didn’t answer and just looked at her. Anyway, this was nothing he could make a decision about. The four guardians … getting them together was clearly something only blue butterfly could do.

She gave a sigh when she saw his gaze. “Don’t look at me like this. It’s not as easy as you think. Yes, I could pull everyone into a dream like this and have them take a look at him but abilities usually rely on spiritual energy as well. In my dreams, your lover’s third senior martial brother won’t be able to use his.”

In fact, there were ways to do that but learning that was difficult, and even the other three guardians struggled with it from time to time despite having had so long to figure it out. She didn’t think a young disciple would be able to best them.

At that, Mei Chao Bing’s brows furrowed. If that wasn’t possible … “Right now, traveling isn’t convenient. I’m afraid senior martial brother Luo won’t be able to go and visit either of the guardians.” Even he wouldn’t have been allowed to return to the Teng Yong Sect if they weren’t so sure that the other side wouldn’t hurt him. Going to see all four guardians, he was afraid that wouldn’t be possible.

He couldn’t help but think of the arrays they were preparing though. “The sects want to set up arrays to make it possible again. After those are finished, he could go. It’d take a couple of days at least though, maybe more than a week.”

Blue butterfly shook her head. “No need. We will solve this on our own.” She got up and put away her chair, casually also taking away the ones that Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen were sitting on.

Mei Chao Bing reacted fast enough and jumped to his feet, hastily reaching out to grab his little bunny’s arm and making sure he didn’t land on the ground. Pulling him back to his feet, he gave blue butterfly a complicated look. “What now?”

“Well, seems like story-time is over. I didn’t actually get to tell you everything I wanted but it’ll have to be enough for now. That senior from your Teng Yong Sect is more important for now. I’ll tell you the rest later.”

Mei Chao Bing nodded. Anyway, he wasn’t even sure anymore where she had been going with that story. He would have liked to know more of the actually important points but maybe it was indeed better to focus on Luo Lin first. They’d probably get more from that. “Then what do we do now?”

Blue butterfly looked from one person to the other and raised her brows. “Right now, where are the two of you?”

Yun Bei Fen blinked his eyes and looked around, not sure how to answer that.

Mei Chao Bing rubbed his head while giving blue butterfly a wry smile. “I am still at the Teng Yong Sect but Fen’er is in the border region.”

“I see. Well, little one, I’m afraid you’ll have to leave first then.” She snapped her fingers and before Yun Bei Fen could say anything, he had been booted from his own dream.

Mei Chao Bing’s brows shot up. “This …”

Blue butterfly smiled and walked over to his side, patting his shoulder. “Well, now, I am going to show you what my ability is actually about.”

Mei Chao Bing had no idea what she was talking about but his intuition told him that this was finally what he had been waiting for.

Blue butterfly picked up a strand of her hair and held it up, watching as the wind blue it before pointing in what seemed to be a random direction. “Let’s go there!” Then, she pulled him along.

Mei Chao Bing quietly followed, his gaze wandering from side to side. The forest brushed past them and in just ten steps, the trees had fallen behind them. Another ten steps and they had covered the expanse of a meadow, making their way to a river that he had noticed when flying from the Teng Yong Sect to the border region.

He didn’t understand how but it seemed that in this dream, they were indeed traveling in the true sense of the word. It was faster than it could ever be in real life. Now, the only thing that remained to be seen was whether it would change anything when they reached their destination.
