Mei Chao Bing finally shook his head and turned serious again. He faced Elder Baili again, his expression hesitant. "Elder, there’s one other matter."

Baili Chao just waved. "If there’s something, then get out with it. There’s no need to hold back."

Mei Chao Bing nodded. "While we were on our way to the border region, I noticed that Fen’er’s sword is … a little old."

Elder Baili looked at his disciple with a gaze that very much said 'I told you so'.

Mei Chao Bing didn’t comment on their silent communication and just continued on. "I promised Fen’er that I would forge a new one for him but if I’m unable to go out without being suspected, that might not be possible for the time being. I’m just afraid that he might be at a disadvantage if he wasn’t well-enough equipped while in the border region. If he needs to fight …"

Elder Baili looked from Mei Chao Bing to Yun Bei Fen and back again. He felt that this youngster wasn’t too bad. He was really looking out for Yun Bei Fen. "Regardless of whether he’s equipped or not, as soon as he meets with somebody and needs to use a sword, he will be in trouble anyway. Not to scold him but his ability with the sword isn’t any good."

Mei Chao Bing glanced at his little bunny who had dejectedly hung his head and rubbed his back. "I can imagine. But he’s still young. He can learn. I can also try and teach him a bit more while we’re here.

"But anyway, a good sword might also help in escaping. I tried to teach him to fly and I think if he just practices a while longer, he will at least be able to achieve that. It’s not a cure-all but it’s at least one possibility to ensure his safety a little more. So I think this is important."

Baili Chao nodded. "Do you know what type of sword you want to forge?"

Mei Chao Bing nodded. "We already talked about it. It would just be a matter of going to get some materials. I just don’t know …"

Baili Chao leaned back and nodded slowly. "This is a dilemma. I wouldn’t suggest you go out. If anything happens in the time you aren’t here, then you will have a very hard time explaining that afterward. How about this? Write down what you need and I’ll send a message to my first disciple. He is currently on a mission but I don’t think it should be asking too much to have him deliver the ingredients."

Mei Chao Bing raised his brows. Among Yun Bei Fen’s senior martial brothers, the first one was the only one he had interacted a little more with. Back when he had been younger, they had been on some missions together where several disciples with different strengths would work together. If he remembered correctly, then Zhi Guan was very strong.

Thinking of that, Mei Chao Bing wasn’t worried that he wouldn’t be able to get the ingredients. He just wasn’t sure if this disciple would be willing to do so. He seemed to be pretty much fixated on practicing the sword. Would he really go and casually look for some materials?

Next to him, Yun Bei Fen perked up. "Then will first senior martial brother come here?"

Mei Chao Bing glanced over and raised his brows. From what Yun Bei Fen had told him before, his relationship with his three senior martial brothers was pretty good. He wouldn’t have expected that his little bunny would be that happy to see one of them though. Well, this was also good.

Baili Chao nodded. "I guess so. It will depend on when he can take care of it though. I don’t know how far he’s gotten with his own mission and if he can just take a break in between. Anyway, you first need to write the list, then I can get a message to him."

Mei Chao Bing nodded. "I’ll write everything down. Thank you, Elder Baili."

Baili Chao waved, wondering if that boy had listened to him before. Obviously, he didn’t need to say his thanks. Anyway, wasn’t this for his own disciple? It was something he was supposed to do. "Yes, yes. I already know. The two of you can go now if there’s nothing else."

Yun Bei Fen leaped to his feet as if he had only waited for this moment and gripped Mei Chao Bing’s hand. "Let’s go!"

Mei Chao Bing glanced at Baili Chao and then got up, giving the Elder a slight bow before he followed Yun Bei Fen out.

Baili Chao looked at the door and sighed. That boy … It seemed his disciple’s taste was still quite good. Even though he had no idea how Yun Bei Fen had been able to see that so many years ago, it was still good that it had turned out this way. Well, maybe this was just a lucky coincidence.

Although … Thinking of what the Sect Master had said, he really doubted that that was the case. No, most likely, there was more to this than they could see at the moment. It made him feel that there might be some relationship with what the demonic practitioners were currently doing. If that was the case … Just what were they trying to do? They would need to find out as soon as possible to formulate a plan. Otherwise, this matter might end in a disaster.

Baili Chao shook his head and then got up, leaving the house to go and visit Elder Xing. Anyway, Mei Chao Bing had brought important information back. He should first discuss with the other Elder and then see if he had any ideas on how to proceed. Even if they didn’t know what the other side was planning exactly, they might at least be able to make some guesses. From there, they could see how to prepare further.
