With loud coughing two engines started up and soon roared. Two scout hydroplanes accelerated and disappeared in the distance.
“All stations, we are accelerating.” I set ‘Full ahead’ and after a ring the ship leisurely steamed forward.
“Radio, report.”
“Lilith says everything is fine.” (C)
“Secondary tower?”
“A bit smoky but other than that, everything is fine.” (M)
“Main rangefinder?”
“Is it fine? Like, it wobbles here all the time!” (X)
“Supervisor?” I turned to the duke.
“What are you going to do if you end up overwhelmed? The main fleet is far behind, after all.” (D)
“It will be alright. Also, I suggest you do not step outside.”
“Why?” He was confused by my request.
“You will become deaf if you stay there when the firefight begins.”
“If you say so…” He did not try to argue.
In ten minutes time we were already steaming at 30 knots.
Lilith’s POV
This time we found the empire’s capital very fast.
Our task is to find anything worthy of Miss Delight’s power. Most of the work was done by the other plane so I was enjoying the sight.
“Subarea C-C, a fortress. H-B and I-B appear to be a governmental structure. The port is filled with ships. Cannot tell what they are. Over.” (S1)
After a closer look at the port I understood why the empire was said to have the most powerful fleet. Long lines of battleships and galleys were stationed at the roadstead, yet there is something missing…
“Scout 2, stop daydreaming!” (S1)
“Yes! Erhm, Charlotte, are you there?”
“Yes.” (C)
“Tell Miss Delight that the majority of the enemy fleet is here. There are battleships, more than 30, and there are countless galleys.”

Delight’s POV
“All hands, man the battlestations!” It was time for the fight. We are in 30 naval miles so it is time to prepare. The speed was decreased to 24 knots and the guns are now loading.
All of the radars were dead so I will only be corrected by the scouts.
“Get ready! We are about to start!”
I bought technical inspection which lowers my malfunction chances by 25% and prepared to spend a ton of money to buy repair kits.
X turret had a jam, luckily it was quickly solved by the damage control. They even managed to return the radars back to life.
“Let’s drop some lead on those motherf…”

In a distance I saw a pillar of smoke and the planes set course to the port where they started to circle.
“Got it. Scout 2, get ready.” (S1)

“Spread nominal. Two ships were hit.” My baby’s voice was coming seemingly out of nowhere. I looked at the bride to-be and she was looking proud of herself.
“Firing!” I closed my ears to protect myself from the thunderous sound.

The entire ship was shaken and for a second I almost saw the bottom of the sea. Eight huge pipes fell down and in a minute rose again.
“Angle correction, 7’ to the south-west. One target was torn apart, the rest missed.” I hope you will be happy with your choice…
Xera’s POV
In a distance I barely saw the tops of masts of some merchant ships.
“Firing!” I grabbed something and then the ship shook.

I only saw some blue traces flying over the horizon.

“Firing!” I closed my ears before the guns fired.

The pillar of smoke was slowly approaching and every couple of minutes the water near the ships was shooting upwards.

I shot like a full volley at enemy, I fired 8 shells and guess how many hits I got? 2 out of 8
And that didn't even penetrate their hull

1) I had to rewrite the guidelines for the 3rd time but I guess it is worth it.
2) For the parents their child is still a baby, even if the child is already becoming white-haired...
3) C'mon! She has 1/3 of accuracy... also, the spread is actually quite low, as the shells might be landing in a dozen of meters. From 40 km. The targets are smaller, the accuracy is low, the radars ruffle, etc.
@AFP_Writer about salvo Dispersion My experience tells me that BB has the worst Dispersions among all classes and it gets even worse if the enemy are multiple DD and dies from getting pelted by them
@Maple If you ever fired a gun you should know how it works. There is an innate dispersion and it gets worse with the distance. And if the distance is 20-30 km, and if the powder charge is not a tightly packed like in a bullet but a bunch of bags then it gets even more exciting.
Sometimes I just want to scream 'HOW THE F* HAVE YOU MISSED ALL OF THE SHOTS?!' but then you just need to understand that it is just how it works. Real BBs hit like s*, 400 shots with 4% accuracy is just an unbelievably great result.
@Maple You might be hitting target in 50 m with a pistol like an ace but if the target is in 150 m then you will hit it almost never.

@Maple If you have this great accuracy with its guns, or high-altitude level bombing, or fighters strafing with their MGs then I will say it a great result.
If it is anything but that then I will ask you if you bought yourself Rule the Waves 2. Because it is the only place I know where a carrier is less useful than a battleship.

@Maple You don't attack a ship from its side, right? You are not making the dumbest mistake ever by attacking from its side where the most of AA is, RIGHT?
@AFP_Writer my torp style was using terrain as AA blocker then do a X spread of 3 planes on both sides so.....yes
@Maple The first part sounds promising but the second is I'm not sure. The formation attacks were invented not without a reason. Maybe you suffer more losses because of the lack of conentrated airpower?
The AA in your game works like IRL: accuracy affects damage? Or it has some fixed damage it deals?
@AFP_Writer Accuracy affects DPS so if not hitting it won't deal the max DPS that the AA can deal

@Maple In this case I suggest trying to approach the enemy ship from the nose/back to minimize the AA, or to attack from behind an island if it leaves less time in the open. Then, TB should turn to attack from the side and launch from the minimal possible distance. DB should just try to bomb in the same direction the ship goes, the side attack with DB is bad.
@Maple Also, you can try watching some WoWS replays, the attack patterns from there might work out.
