Chapter 5 – Trial of Battle
Streets are full of people. This area ,thanks to UA, pretty decent. Have good security. He observe other people. This is one of his favourite activities.
'It has been 15 years yet I still can't get used to seen mutant type quirk owners. Well it is not that I discriminate them but after all difference in appearance makes it hard to accept. Humans tent to have avoidance toward discrepancy in appearance. This come from instinct, at least I read in a book. I am lucky though. This handsome face of mine worth fortune. ' while inflating his ego, Takashi arrived his class. He sat his seat in back.
'I am excited. Today is the day. Day of Trial Of Battle. Now that I think about it, I am pretty much battle maniac. I didn't have this kind of chance in my previous life so, probably this is the reason for my like of battles. It has been 15 years and I can't remember who matched who. Bakugo-Iida and Midoriya-Uraraka will make big opening match if I am not remembering it wrong. And Shoto will crush his opponent single-handedly but others I can't remember.' while Takashi excitedly thinking about day, class started.
Until noon there wasn't anything particularly important. 'As expected UA, food was pretty delicious.' After noon he's sitting in his seat and waiting excitedly. Why you ask, because...
"IT'S ME!!!" came a strong and cheerful shout. It was All Might. 'Finally it starts.' Takashi look excitedly toward All Might who hanging on door frame.
"THROUGH THE DOOR, LIKE A NORMAL PERSON! HAHAHA!!" everybody start talking excitedly among themself. It was reasonable All Might here like Hollywood star of his previous life. And he is peak of Heroes. Learning from him is priceless.
"FOUNDATİONAL HERO STUDIES! FOR THIS CLASS WE'LL BE BUILDING UP YOUR HERO FOUNDATION THROUGH VARIOUS TRIALS!" said All Might with hero pose. "LET'S GET STRONG START.TODAY IS THE DAY OF THE TRIAL OF BATTLE!!"
"AND TO GO WITH YOUR FIRST BATTLE, WE'VE PREPARED THE GEAR WE HAD YOU SEND IN REQUETS FOR TO MATCH YOUR QUIRKS."
"Our battle gear! Awesome!" everybody got excited after all for hero, their suits are important. 'Like Great Sage Barney Stinson said, Suits Up' smirk in his mind Takashi, like everbody he is also excited. He may have less emotion but he isn't without of it. After all he is just 15 years old.
After putting his suit, Takashi look himself in mirror. He wears black T-shirt and black jean. Over the t-shirt he has black coat. All in all he look like less Hero more model. 'Fufufu, You think so right? But you got it wrong. This coat isn't ordinary coat. It has a lot of secret pocket inside of it.' After all he need a lot of metal and it will weird if he carries metal bars around. His inner pocket is full of metal items.
He is looking others. 'Bakuga looking pretty badass, I have to admit. Iida also pretty cool. Mina looking like rap queen. Aoyama again sparkling, how the hell he do that! Uraraka looking like astronaut. Momo, well rather not make comment. My fragile teenager heart can't take it. Others pretty normal, I guess.And where is Midoriya? Ah, he is coming.'
There, a creature. It looks like green weasel with long ears. It is Midoriya. 'Although he looks weird, I still envy him. He has good mother.'
Uraraka and Midoriya started to talk among themself. 'AHH. Go get room. I am jealous.' thought Takashi watching them with bleeding heart.
"Sensei! Regarding the performance ground we'll be using, is it mock-city from the entrance exam?" asked Iida.
"CLOSE! TAKE TWO STEPS YOU WILL BE THERE. THIS WILL BE INDOOR BATTLE TRAIL." said All Might. "VILLAIN CLEAN-UP USUALLY SEEN OUT IN THE OPEN, BUT STATISTICALLY, THE BETTER PART OF IT IS AN INDOOR JOB."
"FOR THIS TEST YOU'LL SEPERATE INTO VILLAIN AND HERO GROUPS. FOR TWO-ON-TWO BATTLE!"
"FOR THIS TRAINING, WE'LL HAVE SOME VILLAINS GUARD A NUCLEAR WEAPON THEY INTEND ON DEPLOYING. HEROES MUST STOP THEM AND THEIR SCHEME BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!"
"IF THE HEROES CAPTURE THE VILLAINS OR REACH THE NUCLEAR CORE BEFORE THE TIME RUNS OUT, THEY WIN."
"IF THE VILLAINS MANAGE TO KEEP THE CORE THE WHOLE TIME OR CAPTURE THE HEROES, THEY WIN."
"LETS START!!!"
After draws, teams selected.
'Team A Midoriya-Uraraka, Team B Shoto-Mezo, Team C Me-Momo, Team D Iida-Bakugo, Team E Mina-Aoyama, Team F Koji-Sato, Team G Jiro-Kaminari, Team H Tokoyami-Tsuyu, Team I Ojiro-Toru, Team J Kirishima-Sero. Hmm, I teamed up with Momo. Best possible match. Team A have high mobility. Team B, Shoto by himself is enough to overpower others. Team C ,us, well Momo should be create a lot of metal object then I will overpower others, no need complicated tactics. Team D, also have high mobility and thanks to Bakugo they have high destructive power. Team E have pretty destructive power as well. Team F are weakest one. Team G are rather balanced but still lack close combatant. Team H, also pretty good. Team I, if they are hero odds are high chance of their victory with invincibility. Team J are balanced team. All in all strongest teams are B,C,D; rather strong ones are A,E,H,J; others not much threat.' Takashi finished his analysis.
First match will be between Team A and Team D. Rules are simple. Scenario has the villians inside building. After 5 minute the heroes will be let in as well. Everyone also will be watching the matches through surveillance cameras.
Match started and like anime Bakugo rushed to Midoriya. 'If he can't control his emotions like this, his future as a hero will not be very bright. I mean normally they have %70 chance of win but he make the worst choice.' As he expected things developed like in anime. Bakugo and Iida lost. 'Well, He looks like he is going to cry. This is his problem. He never tasted defeat before. But ones he overcame it, hehehe. He will be worthy rival.' thinking about fun future Takashi starting to get excited. 'But Momo is pretty smart. Her analysis over their match is perfect. '
A few minutes ago
"THE BEST IN THIS MATCH WAS IIDA SHOUNEN!!"
"But Sensei they lost, why him?" the one asked was Tsuyu.
"WHO KNOWS WHY!!!" asked dramatically All Might.
"It's because Iida was the one who adapted most the situation." said Momo. "Having watched the fight, Bakugo's behaviour was clearly driven by some personal grudge, and thus totally arbitrary. Furthermore, large-range attack in indoor is just idiotic. Same goes for Midoriya as well."
"Uraraka's game got loose halfway through and her final attack was too reckless."
"Iida while a bit slow for final attack, he devised a proper strategy for his opponents. He noticed match would revolve around core and act according for it."
'Hahaha, look at All Might, he dumbfounded. Probably because she said all necessary things.'
"W-WELL YOU ARE RİGHT!"
Second match was between Team B and Team I. Well, it was one-sided. Shoto freezed whole building and won.
Third match is ours. Team C vs Team F. Momo and I are playing the villians. Before we left for match when I was passing Bakugo, I said in low voice "Plus Ultra" and without looked back I walked away.
Momo and I standing near core. And discussing our plan.
"What is your abilities?" I asked Momo. Although I knew, if I acted like that she will probably think me as stalker.
"My abilities allow me to create inorganic objects. I can't make too big objects and I have to understand their principal to make it." said Momo straightforwardly.
"It is good quirk." it was also his honest opinion. "My quirk allow me to manipulate metal objects. Like.." said and raises his hand toward core. Core started float in air. He looked Momo expressionlessly and said "If you willing to trust me, I have simple plan."
Momo started to observe Takashi. 'He doesn't look like someone who will joke around.'
"Fine, please tell your plan"
"Thank you." said with smile in his mind Takashi after all he can't smile himself.
(All Might POV)
'Well Takashi Shounen what will you do?' think All Might looking Takashi from screen. He is worried about him. After all he isn't best talker. But looking them making plan All Might started to smile.
'Takashi Shounen may not be talkative but he is easily adaptable person. It will be interesting looking at them'
After Takashi and Momo finish their plan, they started preparation. Momo starting to create large number of metal bars. After Momo finished Takashi raise his hand and bars starting to move. He arranged them in rooms strategic points.
The match begin; Ojiro and Toru entered building. They start to move together and from looks of it they planing to play safe.
"Hey, isn't he looks like, he know where his opponents are?" everybody starting to look at Takashi.His hands are in pockets of his coat. He is standing before core and looking toward floor. His eyes moving like following someone.
"Yeah, I think so too."
"Indeed, direction of his eyes are in line with Team I."
"I thought his abilities are metal control. Am I wrong Sensei?"
"HAHAHA! ANSWER OF YOUR QUESTION IS YES AND NO." said All Might. "HIS ABILITY ALLOW HIM CONTROL METAL THROUGH ELECTRO MAGNETIC FORCE. BUT IT ISN'T ALL. HIS QUIRK EFECT HIS NERVES AND THIS ENCHANTED HIS ABILITY TO THINK, REFLEX AND THINKING SPEED. BUT IT ISN'T WHAT HE IS DOING. WHO CAN TELL WHAT HE IS DOING?"
"If I have to guess I would say he is using metals at the base of the building to sense his opponents whereabout." said Shoto. "When they move they cause vibration on metals and he is using this to sense their position."
'Why youngster this days are too smart. He also didn't left me anything to say.' thinked All Might with cold sweat.
"HAHAHA! YOU ARE RIGHT SHOTO SHOUNEN! HE IS USING VIBRATION CAUSED BY THEM TO LOCATE THEIR POSITION. AND NOT JUST THAT HE CAN ALSO USE METAL IN YOUR BLOOD TO LOCATE YOUR POSITION AS WELL."
"Sensei, you're quite knowledgeable about his abilities."
"HAHAHA! OF COURSE I STUDY ABOUT ALL OF YOU." said All Might with cold sweat. 'I got too excited and talk too much.'
After hearing what All Might said everybody belived him. There are stars in their eyes. They felt honoured.
After a while Ojiro and Toru came to to room where core stays. They saw Takashi staying there his hand in his pocket with expressionless face. Takashi after looking his opponents eyes a few seconds rise his hand. Ojiro and Toru become alert seing him making a move. But before they react they find themself bind with metal bars. Match ended pretty quick.
'He is stronger than last time I saw him.' thought All Might himself.
Shoto looked deeply at Takashi and thought 'His abilities are strong but unlike me he need suitable enviroment. If we were match in city it will be a hard fight for me, but otherwise I have higher chance of winning.'
Match ended pretty quick like I thought it will be. I turned toward Momo bow slightly.
"Thank you trusting me."
Momo look rather suprised by my display of power.
"N-No need to thank we have to trust each other as a future heroes." said with smile. I nodded to her with expressionless face.
'This face of mine making hard to be friends with other. I mean if I can give a charming smile here mood between us would be pretty good.' while thinking this kind of nonsense we return the room. After returning room All Might made analysis of our match.
The other matchs ended without big event. And our Trial of Battle came to end.
