...Kyle lay bare in a field of grass with nothing as far as the eye can see. woke up from the cold draft, confused and alone he looked at his surroundings feeling a cold draft once again, he noticed that he was naked in a field with nothing in his line of sight to cover with, embarrassed at how he must seem from afar.

Well, I’m alive, but why am I naked, better question where the hell am I?

After a few minutes of pondering, Kyle decided to just walk in any random direction hoping this idea won't backfire on him. feeling a shiver down his spine, treading carefully he heard footsteps of something behind him getting closer, looking behind himself he saw nothing with a sigh of relief he turned to continue but standing in front of him was a beast he had never encountered, before he could register what's in front of him his legs giving up on him from the roaring of the beast, averting his eyes from the beast gaze but he felt his mind go blank his consciousness was slipping away from fear. 

hearing the beast stop midway, he felt his face starting to warm up, opening his eyes, he touched his cheek seeing red, he felt his consciousness slipping away from him but he couldn't catch it this time before everything went dark he saw a figure walking towards him standing all bloody near the corpse of the beast.

A shook Kyle woke up in cold sweat, looking at his surroundings he realized he was sleeping on a bed pinching his cheeks, thinking this was a bad dream but it wasn't one, he was fully awake. Moving from the bed he stood in the center of the room looking around noticing the room was dimly light with the window being the only light source walking towards the window curious to see what was outside looking through the window he saw a patch of land that was ripe with vegetables.

I wonder if they have the same food as back home or are their culture different Kyle thought to himself. 

Looking at the walls Kyle noticed the walls were made of wood, looking around the room more he noticed that most of the furniture was made of wood including the floor. On his way out of the room he glided his hand over the desk next to the cabinet, looking at his palm he noticed the dust he collected.

The room probably hasn't been used in a while huh.

Walking down the stairs Kyle following a nice scent, stumbled upon the kitchen, looking around the room, Kyle saw a woman standing next to something that looked like a stove.

"Hello there, do you mind waiting a minute, I’m still not done cooking,” said the lady without looking at Kyle 

"Who are you?" Kyle asked cautiously

"Well, it is common courtesy to state your name when you asked another," asked the lady

"My name is Kyle, and your name is" Kyle questioned

 "I am Alessia, nice to meet you," Alessia said

A silence followed, you could feel the awkwardness in the air, breaking the silence Alessia asked

“Why were you at the walking around the Finnegan fields naked and alone?"

"That, well I just found myself there, then I thought I should find the nearest town" Kyle answered hesitantly while looking down while twiddling his thumbs

Looking at the lady, walking towards the table she sat down setting the food on the table.

"Sit down, you must be hungry," Alessia said

Walking towards the table cautiously Kyle dragged the chair across the stone floor

"Thank you for the food" Kyle mumbled underneath his breath

"You’re welcome, if I didn’t see you in time you would have died, normally people don't venture in that field without some form of a guard,” Alessia said

"I didn’t know that" Kyle answered looking down again

"Considering that you didn’t know about the field, you’re not from this region are you” Alessia questioned

"Yeah" Kyle answered

"Do you know how you got there?" Alessia asked

"Well... I don’t know" Kyle said looking down at the floor

Looking at Kyle Alessia could see he was uncomfortable and decided to drop the topic.

"So where are you gonna go from here, because when I first met you all you had was yourself, " Alessia said

"That may be true but... I'll find a way, I just know it" Kyle answered

"Enjoy your meal also don’t be so tense I didn't do anything to the food, once you’re done meet me outside," Alessia said as she stood up leaving the table

Sitting in the kitchen looking puzzled Kyle decided to finish the free meal he received, walking out the kitchen door feeling rather full, he looked around the patch of land seeing several crops planted.

I wonder if they sell their harvest or it’s a local community thing.

Looking around even further Kyle saw Alessia sitting under a large tree waving at him, treading through the field carefully he reached the monstrous tree.

“The wind feels rather nice doesn't it?” Alessia asked

“It does but why’d you call me here?” Kyle asked

“You looked rather tense, so I thought I should get you to relax,” Alessia said

Looking stunned Kyle failed to ask even further, standing up; Alessia leaned against the tree, looking straight at Kyle.

“You won’t survive out there, if you’re thinking of leaving, then your best bet would be staying here,” Alessia said with a serious tone that shifted the mood

“What did you base your assumption on,” Kyle said

“You couldn’t even fight a simple beast that people half your age could deal with,” Alessia said

"Really, how sure are you about that” Kyle said arrogantly

“How about you fight me and you’ll find out,” Alessia said

Kyle looked at Alessia with confusion but could see the resolve in her eyes. determined to prove her wrong, Kyle dashed forward throwing a right hook, but before Kyle could land a hit, he was gutted straight to the stomach, crawling into a ball and gasping for air, Kyle was in disbelief, looking up to Alessia, she seemed unfazed.

"So, is that the best you can do, if that’s all then you won’t survive out there," Alessia said, looking sternly at Kyle who was still gasping for air

Looking at her Kyle saw a red aura around her.

"What’s wrong cat got your tongue," Alessia said

"You’re quite strong aren't you" Kyle questioned

"Not really, you’re just really weak" Alessia snapped back

Sitting back to catch his breath, Kyle looked at Alessia still confused about what he saw around her.

"So what’s up with the aura around you?" Kyle asked

Looking puzzled Alessia realized that she was red all over, panicking for a bit Alessia started calming down, and the red aura died down. Looking embarrassed Alessia sat down on the grass next to Kyle leaning on the tree.

"Sorry about sometimes I just get fired up you know, " Alessia said laughing nervously 

"So what was the red aura around you, I’ve never seen anything like that before," Kyle asked 

Looking confused at the statement.

"What do you mean," Alessia said sounding confused

"The aura around you, how did you do it," Kyle asked

Looking ever further confused, then it clicked at the realizing of what Kyle as asking 

"Don’t you know anything about mana?" Alessia asked

"I do, but how does that have anything to do with your aura," Alessia asked

"Well, I could tell you but that won’t help," Alessia said

With the trees dancing through the wind Alessia felt the wind blowing on her face and with a smile, she turned to Kyle

"You seem like a nice person, so I could help you find a job around the area because you don’t have anything to your name and maybe I could also teach you something," Alessia said

"Why are you helping me" Kyle questioned

"I also don’t know, I just feel compelled to help you because you seemed helpless when I first saw you "Alessia answered

Looking visible annoyed at the statement, Kyle looked at Alessia standing up next to him extending her arm to Kyle blocking the last golden sun rays of the day.

"Stay with me, and you'll have a roof over your head, I might teach you ways to survive in this world because you look like you need it, “Alessia said

Taking her hand they both walked back to the house.

i know Finnegan is technically a surname and name that means fair, but i wanted to use it in a ironic way when i named the first place Kyle found himself.
