[Okay now that class is finished I need to see Rose privately, the rest of you are free for the remainder of the day.] -Lolianne "Sens"ei

 

Clapping her hands to indicate that everyone needed to hurry up my classmate's filtered out of the classroom one by one with my three roommate's giving me various looks on the way out, only Shade seemed bored as if it had nothing to do with her. Waiting a few seconds after they had left Lolianne suddenly threw a piece of chalk at the wall making a small hole which I saw several of my classmate's scurrying away from.

 

[Okay now that the eavesdropper's are gone you can relax, I don't plan on asking about your little stunt earlier but for your sake I hope it was an accident.] - Lolianne "Sens"ei

[If not I'll end you myself!] - Lolianne "Sens"ei

 

I gulped at the sudden change of tone and nodded nervously. Seeing my agreement a smile appeared on her face as she continued.

 

[Good! Just make sure to chant your spells properly in the future.... regardless of whether you need to capiche?] - Lolianne "Sens"ei

[W-Why is it so important? Heee!] - Rose

 

In the middle of asking my question Lolianne suddenly pushed me against the wall, quite an accomplishment considering she was half my size, and spoke in a threatening voice.

After several minute's of walking I had been left at the Principal's office and opening the door found something I hadn't expected. Shade? was sitting behind the desk. Hearing my surprise Shade? smiled.

 

[Ahh! Rose is it? You've met my daughter if I am correct?] - Shade's Mother?

[Daughter? But you...] - Rose

[Look exactly alike? Yes, I assumed that she'd told you about her family quirk. Was I incorrect?] - Shade's Mother

 

As she said this her face shifted slightly before settling on a face similar to Shade's but several years older. Presenting herself as if for inspection she nodded when I didn't seem to react.

 

[Putting the matter of our families particularities I am certainly Shade's mother. You may call me Principal Night, naming sense isn't exactly the best in my family but please bear with it.] - Principal Night

[But Shade never mentioned that you were her mother?] - Rose

[Ahh yeah that one has never forgiven me for leaving her father nevermind the fact that he hasn't contacted her since. Oh but I didn't have you brought here to listen to my familial problems, you're here to finish registration correct?] - Principal Night

[Ah yes!] - Rose

 

Thrown off by the sudden change of subject I answered out of reflex and seemingly satisfied with my answer Principal Night shuffled through some papers before handing me a sheet with a small card with her picture on it.

 

[This is for your own use, make sure not to lose it as replacing it is 1 gold coin, that might not seem like much for a noble like you but it's an entire 3 years salary of the common person so be careful.] - Principal Night

[Now your parents have already signed all the relevant paperwork and we accepted Queen Laura's request for your appointment to S class so I think that's everything for now. Do you have any questions?] - Principal Night

[Wait why would Auntie Laura request for me to join S class?] - Rose

[Hmm... Well she didn't tell me a particular reason why but if I were a betting woman I'd say it's because she knew or at least suspected about your... particular abilities.] - Principal Night

 

Leaning forward as she said this I could have sworn I saw her eyes flash as the temperature of the room dropped. Just as suddenly though the pressure vanished and she leaned back again and smiled.

 

[Don't worry don't worry! Now that you're a student I'll do everything in my power to keep any harm from befalling you. Oh right I'm sure Legal Loli Sensei has already warned you but stay away from the Church of Light, I keep them mostly under control on campus but it's better to err on the side of caution. Bye now!] - Principal Night

[Wait! But I...] - Rose

 

Seemingly done with out conversation she ushered me out of the room and closed the door behind me leaving me reeling with questions as to what exactly had just happened.

[So she told you about our relationship then? Haaaaa...] - Shade

 

We were currently in the cafeteria eating lunch while talking, although calling it a cafeteria was doing it a disservice as it was more similar to a Michelin 5 Star restaurant than anything resembling the word cafeteria. All thoughts as to the affluence of the room were pushed to the side as I brought my roommate's up to speed on what had happened after they left as well as them updating me.

Apparently Lolianne had brought each of my classmate's into her office individually and asked, aka threatened, them into silence regarding my little "accident" during class. Veronica was still rocking back and forth while muttering to herself from the experience.
Shade sighed before continuing our current topic, her mother.

 

[I don't acknowledge that she-harpy as my mother. After what she did to father she's lucky I don't try and murder her myself!] - Shade

[What she did? I thought they separated?] - Rose

[Separated? Is that what she told you? More like she tried to kill him and he was forced to escape!] - Shade

[Oh...] - Rose

 

Not sure how to respond to her outburst an awkward silence came over our table before Shade cleared her throat.

 

[Sorry about that, she always get's me worked up. I didn't mean to take it out of you like that.] - Shade

[Hehe, don't worry about it I understand.] - Rose

[.....] - Malaise

 

Malaise just kept looking back and forth between us, seemingly unsure how to interrupt our conversation without being rude. Making up her mind she clapped her hands to bring attention to herself.

 

[Ahem I think we need to change the subject to something more positive! How about we talk about the upcoming practical test in 2 months?] - Malaise

[HOW IS THA MORE POSITIVE!] - Veronica

 

Malaise's comment seemed to shock her out of her stupor as she seemingly broke through the trauma of Lolianne's treatment. After staring wide eyed at her for a moment we broke into laughter and after a couple seconds of confusion Veronica joined in.

[So do any of you girls want to try a local cake shop in town? I've heard it's... ahh actually I think we'll split up and do our own things today. Right Ver? Shade?] - Malaise

[Wait but I want to go to the... oh! Yeah let's do our own thing today!] - Veronica

[Sure whatever...] - Shade

 

Confused as to the sudden change of pace and their subsequent fast retreat I froze when a familiar voice came from behind me.

 

[I've been looking for you forever, mother contacted me and said she hasn't received a Image Stone message from you yet. Told me to drag you to a terminal if need be.] - Familiar Voice

 

Turning robotically I was faced with the exact person I had feared it would be, face red as I remembered our last meeting. Calm down Rose he's not here for you! Auntie Laura just asked him to remind me! That's all!
Smiling as gracefully as she could she curtsied to Arlen before responding.

[Thank you for reminding me Prince Arlen, I'll make sure to send Auntie Laura a message immediately. Now if there's nothing else.] - Rose

[Ahh... Wai....] - Prince Arlen

 

Leaving behind Arlen with his face that mirrored an abandoned puppy I rushed out of the room his face of disappointment at my response flashing in my mind.

[Judging by your sigh I guess your date with the Prince didn't go well?] - Malaise

[D-Date? I left him there right after you left! W-we didn't go on anything like a d-date!] - Rose

[My bad my bad!] - Malaise

 

Holding her hands up to show that she was harmless the foxgirl smirked at my response. Lowering my raised fists I sighed once more.

 

[Do you mind telling me what's wrong? You can vent if you want. We're all here for you if you need us.] - Malaise

 

Looking at Malaise I noticed Veronica and Shade slightly behind her and while Veronica seemed interested Shade was looking bored in every sense of the term except for the fact that she was inching closer slowly. I smiled at Shade's attempt to seem uninterested as I was starting to feel like I could understand the three of them better. Sighing again I started my explanation.

 

[Okay but don't laugh. Promise?] - Rose

 

Seeing all three of them nod I continued.

 

[Okay so the Shitty Prince wanted to remind me to contact my Aunt through the image stone cause she was apparently worried. That's where you guys left off, I left him right after that to call Auntie Laura. The problem is what she wanted to talk about.] - Rose

[And? What was it?] - Malaise

[Apparently their is going to be a big event in 2 months; dancing, food, the works. And she wants me to attend.] - Rose

[Okay and what's the problem?] - Shade

[With the Prince.] - Rose

 

As soon as I finished my explanation Veronica burst into laughter while Malaise gave her a dirty look. Embarrassed and slightly angry at my woes being made fun of I confronted Veronica.

 

[Hey! Why is that so funny? I'm really worried here!] - Rose

[Soz soz I just don't see what tha big problem is here. If you want him them sleep with him if you don't then kick him to the curb. It's simple.] - Veronica

[I-It's not that easy, my parents and the Queen...] - Rose

[Shhh! Those are just excuses, make up your own mind and if you can't then think about it real hard like super duper hard until you make a decision. When you do then act. Easy right?] - Veronica

Feeling better after Veronica's comments I smiled while watching Veronica attempt to molest Malaise. These people were definitely good people, even Veronica. Despite being the most perverted woman I'd ever met outside of Karen. I wonder how she and my sister were doing...
