A few hours before Obi-Wan's call with Satine.

Atin had opened the cargo bay doors and what met him was a 5 meter tall, 4 legged droid with a cluster of gun barrels in the place a face should be, 4 more mounted on its shoulders and had clawed hands and feet. The droid had blaster damage peppered all over its pale green armoured frame as it stood imposingly at the entrance, daring anyone to enter. Normally, anyone would get a fright seeing this, but Atin had stars in his eyes as he looked at the dormant giant, "No way.....", he identified it instantly as a Basilisk war droid, the same type of droid his ancestors used before switching to jetpacks, they were once seen by them as something akin to an animal companion. Patting it on the shoulder atin spoke out loud "Don't worry, ill wake you up. But first, I need to secure us a way off this rock."

Fixing the J-type communications was probably the easiest in a laundry list of work needed to get it off the ground, but moments after turning it on there was a pop and the cockpit was filled with smoke and the smell of burning electronics. " well, that's completely shot. I hope I at least got a signal out" staring up at the ceiling a wave of hopelessness hit Atin. To take his mind off it he started investigating the rest of the cargo hold in hopes of finding something else as interesting as the Basilisk, as he was walking toward the darker recesses of the room Atin noticed several storage tanks for cooling fluid on conveyor belts, the occasional skeleton and had noticed that life support for this sector had been purposely shut off. Pretty soon he found the reason why, as he got closer to the furthermost corner of the room he had begun feeling sluggish, the closer he got the worse he would feel to the point of gasping for breath as he moved. A dim red glow he didn't notice before revealed a spike-covered metal frame about 10 metres in front of him, staring at the frame gave atin the sensation of being forcibly pulled inside it, as if it wanted to drain him dry. Noticing this he tries retreating but finds that his feet were moving him ever closer it,

"Oh my, that was close"

feeling a pair of hands yank him backwards atin was grateful, but then a wave of rage hit him as he looked at floaty and questioned, "What the hell was that and why didn't you warn me about it!"

"To answer your questions in sequence, there is no data available for the artefact in my database and as to why you haven't been warned, I believe it was sparky's job to give you the grand tour of our humble abode,"

"I swear ill disassemble that droid the first chance I get." Atin mumbles to himself before continuing, "If it's so dangerous why is it still on the ship?"

"simple young master, the artefact keeps Jeff away, along with the other garbage worms who would very much like to eat our home."

"Jeff?" questions atin,

"Jeff is a garbage worm hybrid that escaped from an illegal garbage pit racing operation, well at least that's the theory, we cant be sure of Jeffs origin, only that he's the meanest worm on this side of the planet."

"I want to work on the basilisk in the cargo hold but it'll be inconvenient to wear this mask all the time, I've noticed that the life support systems have been purposefully shut down for this sector, ill fix that first."Atin speaks to floaty as the droid follows.

Floaty speaks up, "I would advise against turning on the life support systems, the young miss is inquisitive by nature and I have no doubt she'll discover the artefact on the same day it's fixed."

"I assume it only affects organics?"

"That would be correct yes."

"Then why don't you and sparky move it to another sector of the ship?"

"That is unfortunately impossible, we lack the raw strength required to move such an object, and the speeder truck is too large to fit into the hallway we need to access in order to do so."

"Not for long" patting the Basilisk on the shoulder, Atin continues. "I can't say anything about combat readiness or independent movement and thought but give me an hour and ill have this thing functional enough to help you.

2 hours later

"the manual input interface took longer than expected but were good to go" handing floaty the datapad Atin continued, " the controls are pretty simple and he won't do anything without your command, he's practically a puppet at this point. I've marked a room on the map for you to store it in, the doors are big enough to get it through, life support is non-existent and welding it shut should prove easy even for an amateur."

"perfect! I will see the task done immediately."

For the next 3 days, atin had worked tirelessly on the basilisk but it still wouldn't function properly, "We're done for today, go get some sleep." stated Atin while facing Miilo, over the past few days the young girl had grown increasingly attached to him, since she had already absorbed all of Floatys lessons there was nothing stopping her from doing as she pleased during the day and after once asking the young girl to pass him a screwdriver she had naturally fallen in as his assistant whenever he was tinkering, handing him whatever tools and components he needed, sometimes before he even had the chance to ask. the moment the duo was about to leave sparky burst through the door, one of his arms missing and fresh blaster scorches adorned his armour plating. "Intruder Bzzzt...cave.......disabling Bzzzzz...traps" was the only thing the droid could say before crashing onto the ground and powering down
