PETTY SOUL (█ █ █ █  of Earth)
A soul trapped by Kurt Leondrea (deceased).
Due to the aptitude of the related parties that have trapped the soul, a natural aptitude for poison, soul and dark type magic and ability acquisition will be granted.
Due to the complimentary rare seeds that have been eaten, additional aptitudes have been achieved.
POISON: Legendary-grade aptitude
SOUL: Uncommon-grade aptitude
DARK: Uncommon-grade aptitude
LIGHT: Uncommon-grade aptitude
FIRE: Uncommon-grade aptitude
WATER: Uncommon-grade aptitude
WOOD: No aptitude
METAL: No aptitude
All other ability groups: Common-grade aptitude

I- isn't this bird's soul description way more verbose than mine?!

But yeah! This is it! Poison!!

MAGIC SPEECH activated.
10 MP converted.

"Listen up Furby! You have an incredible aptitude… for poison abilities-" (Scarecrow)

"…Kaw?" (Furby)
I'm not sure why, but I definitely understood that to mean "…Furby?".

"T- that's your name- anyway, fly up there and imagine injecting poison like a snake!" (Scarecrow)

10 mana points seem to be enough to communicate efficiently with the occasional pause.
My voice still sounds creepy, but that hardly matters now.

"K- Kaw ka kaw!!" (Furby)

I don't understand a word you're saying, you bird brain!

(Argh-)
My mana is slowly being drained as I try to keep the spider demon legs from crushing me.

"Trust me… just deeply focus on the image of a snake injecting poison through its fangs!" (Scarecrow)

Furby reluctantly crawled out of my half-burnt shirt and flew out from under the leg currently crushing us.

I'm surprised he actually listened.
Ah- couldn't he just fly away now and leave me to die?

I'm such an idiot, why am I suddenly trusting this bird with my life-

It must be that…
It's the vague sense of familiarity I've been feeling from his presence that's lulled me into a false sense of security.

I better work on a plan B.

Maybe I can use some more wood magic to keep this leg from crushing me for just long enough to make my escape?

I tried to lessen my hold of the foot so I can make a run for it, but that instantly caused several of the wooden pillars around me to crumble.
Thousands of cracks can be seen in the remaining wooden pillars.

(Tsk-)
Looks like my body is doing more heavy lifting then I gave it credit for.

Maybe I can tickle the bottom of this spider demon's foot to death?

"SKREEEEE!!" (???)

Just as I was about to summon a root with wood magic for my tickling strategy, a loud screeching sound came from above.

The foot attempting to crush me lifted slightly-

This is my chance!!

(SCARECROW ESCAPE!)
I use one of my new moves where I run really really fast to escape to safety.

As soon as I was out from under the foot, it was back into the frying pan with all the other spider demons surrounding me.

"Kaw kaw!" (Furby)
It worked- is what I'm imagining he's saying!

I'm genuinely surprised he didn't just fly away actually.

Furby swiftly flew over to one of the other spider demons.

The demons had all began attempting to retreat at some point.

How odd, it looks like a forest is trying to walk away from me.

The tree-like spider demon that Furby flew ontop of shook for a moment.
Furby reappeared and again quickly approached another demon.

He repeated this pattern over and over. Biting every one of the demons.

Suddenly the first one of the spider demons that almost crushed me before began to collapse.

Like dominoes, demon after demon collapsed to the ground.

H- he did it!

Aren't levels kind of meaningless? A level 1 bird just took out a dozen level 100 demons.
Is the difference in abilities more important than levels or something?

I suppose demons born in caves haven't evolved to defend against poisonous birds.

Actually, that makes me wonder, how are these things even born in the first place?
Do they reproduce just like animals back on earth?
I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any type of genitalia on any of these weird demon creatures.
N- not that I've been actively searching...

As I was worrying about something inconsequential, the last of the spider demons collapsed.

A bright glow suddenly filled the cave we're in.

It's radiating from Furby's body.

I recognise this.
There's no doubt about it-

(H- he's e- evolving?!)

The glow filled the cavern for a good long while.

It's as if the sun had come up inside the cave.

When the glow finally settled down. I could see Furby's new body.

He became twice as large and all the excess fat on his body disappeared.
The bird looks a bit more like a prehistoric dinosaur actually.
His beak became stubbier and the large contour feathers that were growing from the back of his head have begun twisting in a curve.

The subtle eyelashes around his eyes have become much more pronounced as well now.

(Hmmm.)
A magnificent looking bird. And that's a compliment coming from a scarecrow.

He's about half my height now.

Looks like I've successfully power levelled a bird.
Not that I did anything really, I just stood around getting crushed by a giant foot.

For some people back on earth that would've been the more enviable position to be in though.
I'm not into being crushed by giant feet though.

I focus on Furby.

Ferdinand (Greater Dark Month Bird ♂) (Imbued with PETTY SOUL)
STATUS: HEALTHY
LVL: 97
HP: 8705/8705
INNATE ABILITY: POISON
A poisonous nocturnal bird thought to be extinct. It's capable of seeing in the dark. The beak can store poison that's excreted when attacking live prey.

Yeah, this pretty much confirms it doesn't it?

This world is prejudice against inanimate scarecrows.

He nearly reached level 100 already. How long would it even take me to get that high level?

It looks like I've accidentally reintroduced an extinct species back into existence as well.

I wonder if the demons in this world evolve based on the type of abilities they obtain.

This is making me want to recruit a whole team of demons that I can evolve into more powerful versions!

"Kaw!" (Furby)

Hmmm?

I couldn't understand what was being said, but the bird body language is obvious.

Furby is pointing his huge wing in the direction of a presence up ahead.

What is it Furby? Is somebody stuck in a well?
