"So the truth is... I don't know..." (Scarecrow)

"..." (Alcazar)
I just told Alcazar the thing I've always wanted to try telling one of these characters from another world.

"If what you're saying is true... then my entire existence is... fictional?" (Alcazar)

Usually, it seems to be a good strategy to stay secretive about your reincarnation, but I feel like if I play my cards right, I should be able to gain a powerful ally here and learn some cool new magic along the way.

So excluding a handful of personal details, I told him about other worlds reincarnations and trucks hitting teenagers over and over again on Earth.

"So you're able to read my status as well then?" (Alcazar)

"Yeah." (Scarecrow)

Alchemy vial (Possessed by PETTY SOUL)
An expertly crafted unbreakable vial.
It’s been modified by Alcazar Prestos (deceased) to respond to mana.
Moulding mana into the vial will change its shape.

I parroted the information from Alcazar's status to him as I read it.

"PETTY? PETTY SOUL?!" (Alcazar)
He threw a tantrum when I mentioned his soul was petty.

"It doesn't show the same details as it did when you had your previous body though." (Scarecrow)
I tried changing the topic.

Alcazar seemed to calm down and pondered something for a moment.

"What a frightening ability..." (Alcazar)

"It says I'm deceased?" (Alcazar)

"...Who's supplying this information?" (Alcazar)

Huh?

Well you know- uuuhm...
That's a good question actually.

Where is this information even coming from?
In the novels I read, it always seemed like the norm that information is readily available to the main character.

"I'll assume from your silence that you've not bothered questioning this before..." (Alcazar)
Alcazar seemed to be reprimanding me for not being more inquisitive whilst looting another corpse.

As Alcazar finished his sentence a massive bolt of lightning struck down from the sky and enveloped his glass body for a moment.

It's as if he had just said the magic words shaz*m.

"Oh? What a rare occurrence-" (Alcazar)

As he finished his sentence another powerful bolt hit him.

"..." (Alcazar)

And another.

"It seems as though the gods themselves don't appreciate this knowledge being spread?" (Alcazar)

Another bolt of lightning hit Alcazar.

◇◆◇

"Where's Julia?" (Scarecrow)

Alcazar and I arrived where Julia, Lucas and Furby's group had been fighting knights.

"GYAAAH!" (Random knight)
I asked Furby, who had just finished defeating the last knight that desperately tried to attack him.
Julia and Lucas seem to have left at some point.

"W- Went that way." (Furby)
Furby pointed his wing towards the direction the army of knights came from originally.

"So is this also a soul reincarnated from this place you called earth?" (Alcazar)

Alcazar, who had begun storing all the bolts of lightning raining down on him in his spatial inventory, realized immediately that Furby must also be reincarnated.
He's sitting on my shoulder again. The intermittent lightning bolts are kind of terrifying, but thanks to Alcazar they disappear in thin air just before hitting us.

I nodded at Alcazar's question.

"..." (Alcazar)

"W- what's that?" (Furby)

Furby pointed his wing at the direction of the lightning bolt that just attempted to hit Alcazar's body.

"The wrath of god? Probably?" (Scarecrow)

"..." (Furby)

"So now what?" (Alcazar)

"Huh?" (Scarecrow)

Ah, come to think of it, I suppose I've achieved all my goals now... I was trying to find a full potion to revive Julia and...

What else was I doing?

Another bolt of lightning tried to strike Alcazar.

Ah! The cavern!
I was trying to take over the entire cavern, that's right.

With all this chaos going on, I nearly forgot about the final depths of the cavern disappearing for some reason.

"I'd like to investigate the deepest part of the cavern again, but let's go visit the royal capital first after picking up all my full potions." (Scarecrow)

First and foremost I should pick up all my loot instead of leaving it lying around all over the place. And after that, I'd like to go find Julia.

"Mmm." (Alcazar)
Alcazar nodded in agreement to my surprise. Seems like he's willing to just tag along with me from now on.

I wander over to one of the dead knights and take off their armour.

Alcazar jumps off my shoulder and begins rummaging through their pockets.

"Looting them for valuables huh? Looks like you're not as hopeless as I thought. But I'd leave armour, it's worth completely pales in comparison to the full potions." (Alcazar)

"I was thinking of using this armour as a disguise to get into the Royal Capital actually." (Scarecrow)

I equip the sturdy looking armour.

"..." (Alcazar)

◇◆◇

I slowly descend using my new afterburner ability.

(Phew...)
It's somewhat tricky to control but incredibly fun to fly around with.

And with this medieval-like armour on, I truly look like an expensive lawsuit waiting to happen.

Furby lands behind me with a nervous look and Alcazar on his head.
A lightning bolt strikes down again as Alcazar casually stores it into his inventory.

"You know, you might be able to fool the gate guards to the Royal Capital with that armour, but how exactly do you expect us to get in?" (Alcazar)

I look at the Furby, the clearly oversized monstrous-looking bird and Alcazar on his head who's still being struck by lightning.

Well, that's definitely an issue...

I pick up another potion and throw it at Alcazar who stores it in his inventory.
This sort of feels like I'm doing community service.

"Don't you have any magic to stop that?" (Scarecrow)
I point at the lightning attempting to strike him down again.

Alcazar pondered something for a moment.

"Well, this does somewhat seem similar to a curse now that I think about it..." (Alcazar)

"Ah!" (Alcazar)
Alcazar pulled out an expensive-looking amulet from his inventory.

"What does this say?" (Alcazar)

Royal Protective Necklace
An expensive necklace adorned with expensive jewels and bustling with mana.
Used to identify members of the royal family.
HIDDEN CURSE: Strike down the wielder if they're not a descendent of the Royal Capital's ruling family.

"...When did you pick that up?" (Scarecrow)

"I found this in the leftovers of that little girl that the knights were calling princess." (Alcazar)

"..." (Sacrecrow)
You had that this entire time?
