Chapter 390

"… Let's go to your mother."

Klein said and offered a bar of chocolate to Lemar. The young kid took the candy and nibbled it. Kitsune was staring at the child. She wanted to pinch his bubbly cheeks but she held back. 

They walked towards the hallway and found someone cleaning the house, it was Mrs. Hasvolge. Klein stopped his feet and greeted her. 

"Good morning…"

He muttered and the old woman nodded her head and continued cleaning the dust off the floor. This was the only way to keep her mind clear, away from the memories. Her eyes were lifeless. 

Klein wanted to speak but he knew that it was not his place to do so. He continued walking until he reached Miriam's workplace. 

He found some maids preparing food and bowed their heads at Klein. 

The workplace was wide, and some machinery was there, such as a teleportation device. 

They found Miriam, sitting at the chair, sipping strong black coffee. She usually liked drinking tea but she started hating it when the invasion happened. 

"Klein, I'm waiting for you, and you too, Miss Nine Tails. I know that you want to see me."

Miriam looked at Klein then at Kitsune.

"Mama!!!"

Lemar jumped down and approached his mother with jolly eyes. Miriam weakly smiled and hugged him, kissing his forehead. 

"Sweetheart, Mama is gonna talk with Uncle Klein so can you play with the nanny instead?"

Miriam childishly said but Lemar shook his head. He pouted and clutched his hands on Miriam's dress. He wanted to stay with his mother. His mother was busy these days and he didn't spend much time with her. He missed her. 

"Sweetheart, please."

She begged and Lemar didn't have a choice but to nod while holding his tears. As expected, his mother didn't want to play with him anymore. 

He started running away and screamed. 

"Mama, I hate you!!"

Lemar cried and left them uncomfortable. 

"Um, are you sure you want to leave it like that?"

Klein asked but Miriam just shook her head and bit her lip. She didn't have a choice. She had to do her job, or else another tragedy might happen. 

"Once he gets older, he will understand me… I promise that I will do my best for Lamer once everything is over."

She hoped. 

Klein couldn't judge her. He had known Miriam for a long time, she was childish back in the past, but she was the most mature in all of them too. Much more mature than Christian and Kyle. She was always around, watching over them, making sure that they were all fine. 

"… Are you alright?"

Klein said something that he already knew the answer to. Based on Miriam's expression, she was not alright at all. She was traumatized and Miriam was being honest.

"No, it's still haunting me these days."

She rubbed her shoulders. She recalled how Kyle died. She strongly remembered the moment when she last saw Niña. She is not human if she is not affected. 

It happened months ago so it was understandable. The wounds will take a long time to heal and Miriam was trying her best. 

"You're going to ask me about Christian's location, right? But I think you already know the answer."

Just as expected, Christian was not on Earth. Klein shook his head. 

"Or perhaps you're going to ask about Mikael? Don't worry, he's doing fine right now. His rage fit is controllable and there's Furrneka to calm him down."

She added. 

"Thank you, but I didn't come here personally just to ask that."

Kyle sat on the empty chair. Kitsune wanted to sit on his lap but she settled down on another empty chair.

"Yeah, I know. You want me to ask about the location of the Hidden Dungeon. But if it's not that, you're going to ask me about the future."

Klein didn't speak. He was just waiting for Miriam to say it.

"But before that, I want to welcome our guests. You see, you guys are not the only one who wants to meet me."

The couple sensed that the teleportation device was gathering mana. It didn't take a long time before three people appeared in the place. 

"Lane? Why are you with Jake and Yuuki?"

Klein was confused, it was a strange combination. A literally cold woman and a leveling addict. As the older brother, Klein was worried that Yuuki and Jake would affect Lane. Particularly Jake, this guy was nothing but a piece of crap of experience points.

"Hello sister, hello Kitsune."

Lane greeted the two girls but she just looked at Klein, not answering his question. 

"Gahaha, Miriam did you already explain it to them?"

Jake roarly laughed. After the beating he received from Mikael, this suicidal guy decided to go to the Hidden Dungeon. 

Despite Mikael saying that Jake would die, it didn't stop him from entering. Because Jake was hungry for power and standing more than anyone. Let's not forget to he became a leveling addict to prove the point that he is the strongest. 

"No, it's your job to do that. I'm just here as an audience."

Miriam sipped her coffee, looking at the two sides. 

Klein, who was confused, looked at the three. 

"Okay? What's happening here? Do you want something from us?"

He looked at Lane, the sanest one. 

"Klein, we want to get the--"

"You don't have to explain it anymore Lane."

Before Lane could say it, Yuuki stopped her and raised her hands. She was holding the pair of glowing eyes. 

When Yuuki showed it, all of the people in the place except for Jake were shocked. 

Yuuki was holding the 'Merlin's Eyes' that should be in Kitsune's expansion box. 

"You!!!"

Kitsune was shocked and growled. The atmosphere changed and all of them felt the pressure. She tried to kill Yuuki but the expressionless woman didn't flinch or hide. 

"Kitsune, stop!"

Fortunately, Klein was there to stop her. He grabbed her hands, it took a second before she control her emotions. Instead, Kitsune glared at Yuuki. She was surprised and furious that her belongings had been taken. 

'I will kill her if she looked at my pocketbooks, they are in the expansion box too...'

The pocketbooks were filled with Klein's pictures. From the normal pictures to the disturbing ones, such as when Klein was sleeping or taking bath. What do you expect from a Yandere? Of course, she had picture albums of Klein!!
