Chapter 405

Titania was stunned when she looked at the person right in front of her. He was handsome and had a cold expression, his lizard-like eyes mesmerized her. 

She gulped as she studied his appearance, the dragon scales on his neck were so hot and she wanted to touch them. When she realized what she was doing, she found that a few guards were following the man. 

Titania immediately understood that the man was an important person. She bowed her head and apologized. She stepped aside to give them a path. 

Marilyn, who was next to her, was confused but she didn't speak and just stayed there. 

However, even though Titania gave way to the Beastmen, they didn't move. To be precise, King Shenten didn't move. He was staring at Titania too. 

"Your Majesty, is everything okay?"

Captain James glanced at the two women. He was eyeing them, he wanted to know why the King was staring at the woman. 

"Are you--"

Before Captain James could speak, King Shenten took a step toward the girl. 

"Um… Sir?"

Titania became timid. She didn't know why but she was acting shy in front of this handsome beast. Even Marilyn raised her brow and looked at Titania with shock.

"You, what's your name."

This was one of the few moments where King Shenten opened his mouth. He got closer to her and Titania instinctively moved backward. 

Titania hiccuped as the King followed suit and didn't give her space to breathe. The guy was staring so close that Titania, a Hunter who had strong hearing sense, could hear the King's beating heart. It was beating so fast. 

Kalman and Captain James looked at each other and realized what was happening. After all, they experienced it too. 

"Your Majesty, could it be that this woman is your Kampi?"

Captain James became excited. At last, they found the King's Kampi!!! And it's a girl!! This means that the woman would become the Queen!!

King Shenten didn't answer but he nodded his head. Indeed, this woman is his Kampi, a beautiful woman at that. 

Well, every high-ranking Hunter is beautiful or handsome because their appearances are optimized to the highest level. 

King Shenten studied the woman from head to toe and Titania shivered at his gaze alone.

"U- um, excuse me but I have to leave. The Saintess needs us--"

"Don't go. No, I forbid you to go."

God damn! He spoke twice, that's an achievement!

Titania didn't know why she was like this. Her heart was aching and beating so fast. 

Yet, just as the Beastmen expected, whenever a pair of Kampi meet each other first the first time, there would be a reaction. 

King Shenten is one of those who can materialize their Spirit just like Furrneka. This time, the Spirit came out of his body of its own accord. 

It was a rooster with the legs of a dragon, a hybrid just like the Basilisk. A Cockatrice. 

The Cockatrice created a howl-like roar and invaded Titania's mana pool. She gasped as the Spirit entered her.

"Ugh-- What is happening, kuu!"

Titania felt that the creature absorbed her Skills, then, the creature gave its Skills too. It was a give-and-take process. She almost fell but strong arms caught her. 

She looked up and found King Shenten staring at her. She felt indescribable feelings. 

The Cockatrice came out of her body and returned to King Shenten as if nothing happened. 

However, Titania felt tired and she gradually closed her eyes. Without any hesitation, King Shenten carried her to the medics to give her proper rest.

"H- hey!! What is going on here?"

Marilyn was lost in the scene. She witnessed a rooster enter their bodies. That itself was suspicious as fuck.   

She tried to stop King Shenten from walking but the guards stopped her. 

"Don't worry, what happened earlier is the phenomenon when a Beastmen that can materialize their Spirits meet their Kampi. It's different from the usual ones."

Kalman explained. 

"I know that Beastmen had this tradition-or-what but I didn't know that it will be like this!"

Marilyn was looking at them. Based on what she knew, a Beastmen and his Kampi would only experience heart attack-like feelings when they meet their Kampi. She didn't know that a rooster would show up and invade their insides!! That's kinda creepy!

"Well, actually, it differs from one another."

Kalman added. He was not sure too. 

"If you are anxious about your friend, you can follow us "

"… Fine."

She didn't have a choice. She was worried. Marilyn contacted her boss, Chairman Renato.

"Yes, my lov-, I mean, yes chairman."

She stuttered and her face was blushing. She said that Titania was going to the medic to have a good rest. The Chairman agreed and passed the job to the others when he heard what happened. It seemed that the King found his partner, but he was shocked that it was Titania. 

As for Marilyn, she subconsciously muttered the words because she was infatuated with the Chairman's voice. Yup, after what happened in Brazil, Marilyn fell in love with the Chairman. 

She was mesmerized by how the Chairman moved his rock... 

Ahem, anyway. 

"Now that I think about it. The conference is still not over. Why are you all here?"

She asked them. Just like usual, the Beastmen didn't listen to her. Instead, Kalman was the representative. 

Kalman scratched his head.

"You see, the King wanted to pee. We are his bodyguards so we have to protect him. However, we can't find the restroom and we stumble here... So, do you know where the restroom is? Because we want to go there."

She looked at them. So they were just going to take a piss, yet what happened was much more shocking. Titania had a heart attack, then found that she was actually a Kampi. The Kampi of the King of the Beastmen. What kind of development is that?
