I can’t believe how easy that was like I'd ever forgive a piece of shit like you. Piercing the membrane of the pool, Valery felt her fingers stipend and slow. Suddenly coming to a resolute stop. Hmm, that’s new guess you’re trying to fight back… maybe if I- focusing on the membrane Valery felt an odd warmth overwhelm her. Its presence malleable and new shifting the pools film like lukewarm honey. I would say I’m sorry about this Robert, but I’m really not. Plunging deep into the pool, the oppressive chill ground to a verglas freeze. The pool no longer shifter nor change it sat solid a foreign experience for both Valery and Robert.

Receding from the pool, Valery sat comforted as the typical blank stare appeared on Roberts’ face. “What a fucking moron ‘oh I’m so sorry for giving you a concussion and making you a laughingstock will you ever forgive me’ Jesus”. Rolling her eyes, Valery moved off to the dresser where the bottle loomed quietly, its toxic fumes anxiously vying for an opportunity to escape. Gingerly lifting the bottle, Valery parted the plastic container into Robert’s hands. His empty eyes remained unfocused as the cap fell to the wayside, leaving to bottle to meet his lips and drain away.

Valery sat patient along the bed. Sprawled out in comfort as the boy beside her slowly poisoned himself to death. Though just as she prepared to inject her next command, something screamed against her reach. Its wail child-like and pitiful, but carried by a voice far too familiar. Now; this is interesting.

Robert convulsed, his flesh writhing in its skin. Make it stop make it stop make it fucking stop! While Valery sat bemused watching as Robert’s body sputtered and retched, dribbling drain cleaner across the floor. Taking a tender hand, Valery eased the bottle away from Robert, seeing his body shakily maintain his drinking position, and with a touch Valery sought her last conversation with Robert.

The smooth, seamless surface of the frozen pool sat ruptured. Splinters and sheared apart, leaving dribbling pools of manic thought to form in veracity. Dipping but a pinky in any of the pools was met with a swarm of cutting cries, all scorched with pain and riddled with despair. Oh, so satisfying yet endlessly inconvenient. Recalling the heat she recently felt, Valery began boring through the glacier pool until a genuine connection finally appeared.

W-what, V-Valery? what did you do… everything. everything hurts, it burns! I can barely breathe!

Yes, you might’ve overlooked me by default, but you may see my true words in a darker theme if you catch my drift.

What the fuck are you talking about?!

You see Robert; I read up a bit before I set our brief encounter. You see that pain your feeling that’s your esophagus and stomach slowly melting away and keep in mind with each breath the vapors of the solution are eating away your oxygen.

What are you? What did you fucking do to me?!

I'm not sure what I am, but as for what I did to you, well… there was this girl who tried to kill herself with Drano. She downed a bunch of pain killers but after one gulp she couldn’t go any further. Doctors tried to make her comfortable, but she died a slow, terrible death.

… are you serious?

Oh don’t worry, with how much you drank you’ll probably last half an hour at best.

Why? why are you doing this to me?!

Call it revenge. Call it retribution. It doesn’t matter, cause now it’s time for you to kill your friends.

Valery could sense the tension as the ice fissured beneath her grip P-please! please don’t make me do this. Please, let me go!

Valery nearly fell back in laughter, her nails clawing against the sheer stricken ice. That’s adorable. You thought you had a chance. Pushing against the frozen pool, Valery fell back wards catching herself against the locked door. Taking a moment to steel herself, something warm slowly crested itself against her lip and in a single swift swipe Valery found a small red smear paint her placid skin. Oh great so now I have limits. Gazing up to the motionless Robert, Valery couldn’t help but chuckle as a single tear rolled across his stoic cheek “come on Robert it time for you to go viral”.

Swinging open the door Valery watched Robert leave his mechanical movement sharp and precise and ready to move for the kill. Exuding an exhausted sigh Valery went over to the bottle finding its minimal contents a gleeful sign of what’s to come. Though before she left a glint of light struck against the window, forcing her body to stiffen. Oh shit, did someone see me?! Yet as the light strengthened and faded with the dull roar of an engine, Valery grasped her chest as her panic faintly subsided. With a mirthful grin, Valery slunk away from the room slithering through the party as she watched Robert make his way for the kitchen. Without even a simple glance Valery vanished from the house, her presence minimal at best while her bottle found its way into a nearby storm drain.

Revenge complete, no loose ends, and nothing that can bring me down. Dancing along the sidewalk, Valery looked to the sky. Spying the canopy of stars that blanketed the auspicious darkness, each light cheering her on in a silent twinkling vacuum. Satisfaction, joy, exhilaration, they flooder her veins and coated her soul. It was a feeling beyond anything she knew. It was blinding, so much so she was unaware of the phone that recorded her even now.
