Thankfully nothing happened on the way there. I really don't have the energy to fight anything right now. But I did Analyze everything on the way. It leveled a couple times, not that it did anything. Surprisingly nothing really looked like this place was another world. It could be that this was some sort of parallel Earth. Since I could also vaguely recognize the trees around me and the day/night cycle felt the same. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that there are two suns? So it is WAY more humid than where I lived. Well, I actually don't remember where I lived. But I pretty sure two suns is one too many. I was drenched in no time. Luckily my suffering got me a skill.

Weak heat resist [2]

After roughly ten minutes I finally saw... multi-colored berries?  Hmm, it appears that slimes can't perceive color. Yeah, I forgot slimes don't have eyes and they navigate with mana and since all of the mana in this area matched. I just naturally assumed that these were going to be normal. I Analyzed it and other than the fact that each berry was a distinctive color. My skill said it was edible and even had different flavors. I tried a red one first since it was my favorite color. The burst of flavor hit me like a truck (Yes I know that's getting old still funny to me tho) I remember having apples before but these tasted perfect. Each one tasted different and just as perfect as the last.

My hunger won over and only after I devoured everything did I come back to my senses. There was a sizable amount of berries, so I now can concentrate on getting out of here. I rechecked Slime's memories and headed towards the nearest exit. On the way, I found out that slimes are really entertaining to play with. Since they are formless, you can do a lot with them. Plus, it looked like Slime enjoyed it too and our connection thread strengthened. I also noticed its memory appeared to be slowly arranging itself together in a semi coherent manner. Before it had no fluid thoughts but now it had some sort of 'thinking' that mostly revolved around me. So I decided to check it's status.

Name: Slime

Race Neutral slime

 Title: N/A

Exp: 16/20

Level: 2

Health: 20

Mana: 0

Affection: 20/100 (Guess this is what caused the boost in Int1Short of intelligence, when I use attributes i'll always use the simplified version)

Skills: Status immunity [10 Max], Dissolve [5], Physical immunity [5], Mana sense [5]

I wonder what happens at 100. I also check my own just to recap.

Name: Healer

Race: Hooman

Title: Coward, Otherworlder

Exp: 10/20

Level: 2

Health: 2

Mana: 5

Skills: Running [6], Commands [5], Matter manipulation [5], Mana sense [4], Analyze [4], Weak heat resist [2], Weak pain resistance [1], Stealth [1], Danger sense [1], Mana control [1], Dismantling [1], Resting [1], Throwing[1]

Level up skills: Taming [2]

Too bad I can really tell what gives me XP. I'm just stuck with trial and error. I waved away all the Windows when another slime wandered into my Mana sense. I slowly headed towards it and when I reached it, I Analyzed it.

Name:N/A

Race Neutral slime

 Title: N/A

Exp: 15/20

Level: 2

Health: 20 [Current Health:20]

Mana: 0

Affection: 0/100

Skills: Status immunity [10 Max], Dissolve [5], Physical immunity [5], Mana sense [5]

XP Reward: 4

Oh! My Analyze just hit [5] and it just got a whole lot more practical. I sent Slime towards it to probe how slimes interact. They just kinda smushed together. But I noticed both of their health bars were plummeting. So I immediately grabbed a nearby stick and drove it as hard as I could into the slime. It didn't do much because of my absence of offensive skills and Physical immunity [5] but it shifted the tide into my Slimes favor. So I let Slime finish it. If I didn't do anything they both would have died and I quite like Slime. I was surprised to see we both got the full XP reward and another Window popped up.

LEVEL UP

Slime Lv 2 ---> Lv 3

Health 20 ---> 25

I feel conflicted that a mobs like a slime have so much health but that just re enforces the tank role. That I had in mind in the first place.

After a couple of uneventful hours I stumble upon a cave and my brain finally registered that its tired. So I decided to crash in there.

Sorry for not posting I had stuff to do and Covid but if everything works out you should have 4(I have Character bio chaps planned so that counts i guess?) chaps spread across my stories over the weekend. Also I have a new story in the works so expect an apocalypse style story like in twoish weeks since I want to actually have chaps in reserve and no I did not forget about that space one maybe I'll have both of then debut on the same day. I would like to say that my writing drive is coming back(I've been thinking of characters, plot lines, romance, how to gel the smut and story. I also probably force myself to write everyday so the wed & fri deadline doesn't feel so life draining since I did ALL of the writing the last day. it's also why I haven't posted) and expect an solid schedule until the next break . Please say something if some skills are missing or miss leveled it's hard to keep track of all of them. Also I won't really spell check this series since the Windows are a pain to spell check

This is how I plan my XP to be

Every level +10 (Ex: 1 lv=10 2lv=20)

after level increments of  10 add 10 XP needed for every Level (Ex: 10 lv= +20  20 lv=+30)

Xp gained is doubled on kill then reduced by 10% every 100 killed(Ex: Slime: 4XP first kill then 1.75XP after 100) and on first sight get same Xp as killing it[modern_footnote]reduced for bosses since we can have him just be a monster connoisseur and be OP [/modern_footnote] (Ex: Bear:20XP)

also stats rely heavily on class (Ex: Healing classes get more mana than health)

The affection stat effect basically everything, how much said person trusts you and how well you understand each other

And the only reason Slime's rose so fast is because it literally has had no friendship before naturally people will raise way slower

what happens at 100 is plot related(I made a rough outline)

Like traditional RPG's every 5th, 10th, and 25th  level  get better benefits

uh fuck now I have to do math for XP

Experimental XP reward table

Name: Kills--> 100 200 300 400
Slime 4XP First Then 2Xp 1.80 1.60 1.40 1.20
Bear 16XP Then 8XP 7.2 6.4 5.6 4.8

jeez the XP drastically drops so farming is gonna be less efficient

Experimental XP level table

Level-->                                    +10                                              +10                                               +10                                          +10

XP required-->                         20                                                30                                                 40                                             50

1 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45
10 50 100 200 300 450 600 800 1,000 1.250

gack! the learning curve is steep but that's based off a basic max level of 100. Healer here gets a skill every level and can just practice to get stat boosts so it kinda balances out AND This gave me the idea of achievement stat boosts. where if he does something really big he gets either levels or skills. plus don't forget about titles
