Butchery

The child lifted the knife. Her gaze, as sharp and cold as the blade, shone under the fluorescent white of the silent room.

An enthusiastic grin crossed her cherubic face. She sank the knife into her motionless target. The smooth skin split into a bloody grin. Viscous red spattered on the child's pristine, white apron. Clumsily, the child repeated the process until the life beneath her hand was no more than torn flesh and shredded skin.

She could hear her blood pound. The butchery was as exciting as the scent of the freshly torn tomato.
