When I Grow up

It's warm in Mama's womb, but it's lonely.
I can't wait to meet Mama and Papa, to play tag with other children, to feel the soft kiss of the wind, and to blow on the candles of my birthday cake.
I can't wait to attend school, to hear stories about different worlds, and to wear a beautiful gown at prom, around the arm of my crush.
I can't wait to travel the world, to live among dancing lights and to doze on the warm sand of white beaches.
Maybe I'll be a singer, a scientist, or a lawyer. Or maybe, I'll just stay home with my children and grow old and grey with my lovely partner.
I can't wait...
I can't wait to be born...
... but this will never happen. I am just a daughter, and only sons are kept.
