Killed In Action

The city is quite damaged due to the punishment of the bombs, but the roads do not have much debris yet to travel with my truck. I have managed to move 2 blocks north of the city but the presence of enemies is increasing now. Suddenly an explosion near where I was a few moments before, I can also hear the whistles of the bullets bouncing in the armor of the car, they are shooting me with everything to make me stop. Well, now I'm going to turn right to try to get them away from me, but just as I pass the crossing of roads, the window on the left makes a strange noise, the window was now cracked, it had been without a doubt an enemy sniper, only they would use it with a caliber this big, hell if it had been a normal window right now I'd be dead.

They're trying to block my way out, but I won't let them make it, I'm not going to make it easy for them to catch me. So I start zigzagging the vehicle in the street so that at least their shots miss more. Then another crack, now appeared in the windshield, surely it was again another shot from the same sniper, he had been able to change positions so quickly? I don't think so, surely it is in some building with a good view to the east and that was further north from where the laboratory was, surely it is in one of this street, it must be a fairly tall building. While trying to pay attention to the tall buildings to find the location of the sniper, another noise completely different from the previous ones appeared, a big metallic one, it must have come from something with a caterpillar tractor instead of tires, which cannot be good in a war area. I was right it was a tank right at the next junction in the road and with the turret facing me!

Turning the handbrake I managed to spin the truck into a spin, causing it to change direction so abruptly that the tank shot would miss even by meters. Hell, I had already had thinking about him hitting me, that was too close. After that, I managed to get through it, the good thing about the tanks is that the turret turns a bit slow to target me efficiently here in the city, so I can get to the next intersection and turn south to lose him. "Our fighters are still fighting up there, don't put the mission at risk !!" The commander responded in panic on the radio.

"Helicopter 2 was hit and dropped the load It's in auto rotation, it's going to crash!"

Without a doubt, they were the ones who carried the capsule with Nanami inside! I have to go and help him get her out of here, I can't let someone know what happened! Focus on this.

That is the tank again, the achievement to reach me. What does he have against me? I only carry an armored car, I'm sure there are more important things to pursue in this city right now. Luckily the car was also armored on the bottom and the explosion did not kill me, but the car turned in the air and fell backward, just one block from where the tank was before blowing up. It must have been an anti-personnel mine because if it had been one for vehicles I would no longer be here.

After exiting the wreckage of the vehicle, I managed to run into a house, I checked my cargo, it seemed that it was still in order, but I no longer had many bullets for my rifle, I would have to look for something there. I also checked where the helicopter had fallen on the map, it fell right in the middle of a square close to here, it was surrounded by several buildings, but from what I could see from the window, no one was left alive, the helicopter is on fire, although the capsule fell a few more meters back so it's intact. Okay, from here I can monitor the place and kill the enemies that arrive, I just have to hold this position on until some team comes to pick her up, after all, they have done to get it out of here I don't think they will leave it behind.

After what seemed like 10 minutes of guarding her, something rather unusual appeared instead, if it was weird enough to stand out in the middle of this chaos. She was a girl, dressed normally, casually talking she came walking happily as if it were any normal day in this city, but behaving like this today is completely out of place for anyone. She was approaching right where the capsule was, but even though it may be someone simply lost, I couldn't take any risks, so I yelled at her from my window.

But the girl just turned her face to where I was, but she kept getting closer to the capsule.

"You're being a nuisance" she said playfully.
"They ordered me to get this capsule and I will do that If I do, everyone will be happy at home!"

"I'm sorry but I'm not leaving her to you"I warned her.
"You must get out of here!"

Right after I fired a bullet, close to where she was, it was a warning shot, if she kept walking then now I would have to actually shoot her. But to my surprise the girl did not flinch, she just looked back where the bullet fell and looked back at me, still with her happy face.

"Then consider yourself dead!" she answered in an even more cheerful way.

Just when she finished speaking she flexed her knees, was she getting ready to jump? I do not believe that a normal person is capable of getting here with something like that. Just when I was thinking that she put her hand behind her waist, and grabbed something, I reflected a bit, I knew whatever she was preparing was very strange, nothing good could come of whatever she was trying to do.

In a matter of less than a second, she jumped from the public street she was to the window of the fifth floor of the building I was in. I could barely get my rifle between her weapon and my neck. She had pulled out a fairly long knife, It was pure instinct that saved me from her, I have no other way to describe what just happened.

They looked human-like but clearly weren't, they were more like an android, although they had more mechanical parts that greatly increased their effectiveness in combat. The ones that were different could only be worse, they were prepared for some special task and that they would undoubtedly accomplish very well.

Capable of killing entire groups of soldiers effortlessly and with a smile on their faces, as if this was all just a twisted game that someone taught them. And I would try to face something like that? However to kill a "DOLL" you need a special team, one capable of multiplying your forces, to be able to load with weapons capable of damaging them, and armor capable of withstanding a direct shot from a tank, just like the Arkadia squadron had. Although, I  also had already fought a "DOLL" before. Although of course, I kept it a secret, I didn't want to be assigned impossible missions as a reward, even if on that occasion I won, the truth is I think it was luck like almost most things in war. Why did I end up in this situation? All day has not been to go from bad to worse. And how come I don't better run away from here? This is bad, I only have two bullets left in the magazine and I can't reload this heavy rifle while I'm running for my life. I was doing something silly again, putting my life at risk, more than I already was for someone else, despite everything I've said before. But this is something in common that all the people who have fought on battle have. Everyone puts their lives at risk to save their peers, even if only to get their dead bodies back. I knew that everyone thought the same and that if we had to die rescuing someone, we would not regret that fate. Running quickly I managed to get down to the first floor and as I was crossing the door of the building, I could hear her footsteps, she was right behind me. What should I do? I will have to improvise!

Something inside me told me that she was close to attacking and that she would attack with a side blow trying to split me in half, almost immediately I could only hear the DOLL sword crash right into the wall next to me. I don't have time to move the bolt on of my sniper rifle, my pistol has the safe lock and it will take a long time to remove it, I do not have any other alternative, I put my hand on my chest, right where I kept my last resort,  the combat knife.

"AHHH!!!!"She exclaimed monotonously feigning astonishment.

Since I had her close to me, I managed to hit her with the knife right in the chest, where in theory a heart should be, although I doubt that wound could damage her in any way, it would reduce its mobility a little at least. I'm not afraid of the difference in power, because, with everything that happened today, I feel like I could easily kill a dragon again just like in the old times! I was on Fire! I was sure my eyes were red again from the excitement.

After withdrawing my blade from her, she shrinks for a moment and charges against me again, she is going for my legs! So I pull myself back without a second thought, through the door that led to the street. But as soon as I fell I noticed how there was also now a soldier of the empire next to me, he was just raising his weapon towards me. So in an act of reflex, I threw the knife that I had in my hand. I hit him on the head, falling dead right after. But with that distraction, the DOLL took the opportunity to go with everything towards me, she threw his knife against me, ramming me with his great force. It was so much that I almost finished next to the capsule.

"You were more difficult than I thought, at least I'm thankful for not dying so fast" she teased what she just did.

As soon as she finished speaking, Akane's team appeared. Hell, it took them their damn time to get here. They got close to the capsule as well and taking advantage of the distraction they were creating I tried to bandage the wound as quickly as possible, because from what I was seeing I was losing blood alarmingly fast.

"More people are coming to play!"Said the mystery girl.
"All right! I will play with everyone!"

But despite thinking that I was already considering myself hopefully alive, everything went from bad to worse in the next few moments. Instead of helping me out of this, one of Akane's subordinates shot me in the chest, now doing a fatal wound. Goddammit, this is really bad! you treacherous bitch!

"Arcadia-1 here"
"DOLL order 131415 Stop!" 

"..."
"Are you seriously with the I.S.C?" said the girl with the huge knife in one hand.
"So why are you dressed as an enemy? "
"You are not pretending to know the codes? My orders were clear, nobody comes close to the capsule, without exception!"

"Hell, it didn't work!"
"I will proceed to eliminate it!" exclaimed Akane in response.

Those words only say the least I need to hear right now!

What the fuck is going on? Akane was with the I.S.C? What do they have to do with the DOLL too? Was this a trap?

What the heck is all this!!!

This is wrong, right now I have two really serious injuries, there is a fight to the death near where I am and despite being near people they are going to let me die here.

This is horrible.
