200 level 2 elves vs an ancient red dragon

The army of Eladrin warrior knights was outfitted with weapons and armor provided by Corellon directly, the Emperor of the army was geared and equipped with the finest mage armor and weapons. Everything they had was designed to fight and kill a dragon, a red dragon specifically.

The Emperor had the Dragon Staff of Ahghairon, the Red Dragon Mask, and a Ring of Regeneration as a level 5 Wizard, each of his 199 level 2 Knights (Warriors – Great weapon) had a Dragon Slayer Greatsword.

In the other corner was an Ancient Red Dragon, you know the type, size of a city block of an angry red dragon spewing forth a fountain of flames. However, unlike a normal Red Dragon, this was an unnamed creation and part of the dungeon, as it was a ready-made dungeon raid boss, intended to protect the dungeon core as it is starting off.

The dragon, unsurprisingly had the first action when the army stepped into the room with him, he unleashed his fire breath dealing 84 fire damage to all in a straight line of him, fortunately, the emperor had planned for this and the army was spread out in such a way that only 4 were turned to ash. The 195 survivors then attacked simultaneously with their Dragon Slayer Great Swords. Of the 195 attempts to hit 29 managed to score a hit dealing an average of 18points of damage, for a total of 529points of damage. The emperor also cast a witch bolt with a to-hit of 23 barely hitting the dragon for 4 points of electricity damage.

The Red Dragon in pain and anguish retaliated for he only had 13 hit points left. Using his ability to do a legendary action at the end of the last of the elven attacks, he did a Wing attack which took both his legendary action and his attack action. Causing 105 of the elves to take lethal damage. The 90 remaining Elves then made an opportunity attack, due to the dragon trying to escape combat. 13 elves hit the dragon, dealing over 200 more damage to the great red dragon.

The 90 surviving Eladrin Warriors and the Emperor all ended up at level 7 for their efforts. The emperor easily dispatched the ghostly apparition of the Dungeon Core, took ahold of the dungeon core, and then proceeded with his forces to meet up with the other 110 elves on the main floor of the dungeon, and then to leave it. In the end, the dungeon ended the evening being able to level to 15, but she was in a sour mood from the experience, even if that army power leveled her.

----

Later that morning in the office of the adventurer’s guild.

“So then, if you are joining their party, I’ll have to register you in the guild then I can add you to their party,” Herminia said cautiously, as the fiery red head kind of intimidated her with her presence.

“Sure, what do I fill out, where do I sign, and how many coins do you need,” Annie said while strutting to the reception desk.

“1 silver and place your hand on the Crystal Ball,” Herminia replied working the process for a new member card.

The ball took a bit longer to register green, then she placed the metal bit in the slot and the new dog tag printed.

Name:

Annie O’Kirika Stryfe

Class:

Ranger (1)

Rank:

Bronze

“Cool, so is Bronze like E ranked or something?” Annie asked as she flipped a silver coin perfectly to Herminia’s open hand.

“Uuu, yes, oh Rebecca can I have your card to add her to your party?” Herminia responded then asked, Rebecca. Then looking to Annie, “where I come from throwing money at someone is considered a major insult, I understand you are just trying to play a part, but please be respectful to me and my Job.”

“Oh, sorry, no offense was meant, I was just trying to look cowboy cool,” Annie said apologetically. Annie then placed a gold coin in Herminia’s hand, “here this is to help the guild and an apology for my blunder.”

“Thank you, apology accepted. And your donation will help with recruiting more adventurers.” Herminia replied.

“Oh, cool, by the way, the dungeon is now 15 floors deep, the first 5 levels are aimed at being old west style, cowboy shoot-em-ups, the remaining 10 levels are deadly, very deadly, as vicious as I can make them. My main body will most often be found in the first 5 levels because they are meant to be fun, and a good source of income for the town, the final 10 levels will still be profitable, but I recommend only seasoned veterans make the attempts. As I made new floor death rules for those floors. Not actual death, but a loss of gear, and race and gender change to match the dungeons' lower levels. It’s a random chance of Shifter, Orc, Half-Orc, or Satyr. Don’t ask why, but it just fit with what I did on the lower levels.”

“So, do you want to take a quest or run your dungeon?” Lil’dude asked looking towards Annie, unfortunately, his eyes never focused on her face, but at the point just a foot lower. All the women noticed as the Teenaged Catboy did not understand subtlety yet.

“Actually, as my dungeon is bound by Divine rules, I can not use my own dungeon to level an Avatar. But we should go to my dungeon before heading out of town, as we should update your unusual Instant Fortress which is in your storage space. As a divine being, I can enlarge it and make it multi-bedroom and add additional protection devices to it.  As it’s not an actual Instant fortress I can add more rations to it as well. Since we are going to need a large party to win the quest, I’ll remake it to be a 6-bedroom mansion. With proper battlements, and golem sentries.” Annie started nerding out while describing the upgrades she wanted to do.

“Sure,” Rebecca said, “Herminia, are there any guild quest that involves going to other towns?”

“Ah, yes we have a bronze escort quest, a merchant wagon, he needs as many adventurers as willing and is planning on leaving towards the capitol tomorrow. But you need to have Mounts of some type as he plans on going as quickly as he can.” Herminia responded.

“We’ll take it. We have two devil’s rides, and mine is designed for two.” Rebecca replied, seeing the notice and handing both the notice and her dog tag to Herminia.

Looking to Annie while Herminia prepared the quest for the party, “Well, a part of our upgrade to the house, we should also include a stable for any wagons and horses we escort.” Rebecca said, “It’ll make us worth more as escorts. And with 6 rooms, we should have enough rooms to have guest housing.”

“Sounds cool,” Lil’dude said dreamily, not taking his eyes off the cute red-headed cowgirl. If it was possible his eyes would have hearts in them.

Rebecca then took back her dog tag and quest card from Herminia to see the details on the back.

[Quest: Escort Humphry the Clothier to Portsmouth the capital of the New Angel region, one guard can ride the wagon, any additional guards need horses or other mounts. Successful completion of the quest is 2 silver per guard and a bonus for quickness.

Time and place, the town square in front of the Inn, 1 hour after sunrise, show Guild Quest Card and dog tags.

Minimum Needed 2, Maximum needed 6]

“Well he’s got 3, plus a fortress for protection,” Annie said while looking over Rebecca’s shoulder.

“Indeed” Rebecca.

After taking the quest the trio then had lunch in the Inn, listened to some music, and then took a lazy stroll to the dungeon, to upgrade gear and the fortress.

“Any gear you want to be upgraded, I can do that once in the entryway, just set what needs to be upgraded on the dungeon floor, and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll use the same method of cheese the Elves used.” Annie said.

Once on the dungeon floor, in the great green grassy plain of the first dungeon floor, Rebecca placed her Armor, the portable house “Instant Fortress”, her holy symbol and amulet, and her shield and long sword.

Lil’dude set his daggers and took off his leather jacket and placed it on the ground as well.

After they set their items on the ground, they vanished into the ground, and then they slowly reformed out of brilliant light.

Rebecca received a Holy Avenger Longsword, a Shield +3, an upgraded mansion “instant fortress”, Mizzium Armor Chainmail the looked exactly the same as the armor she took off, and an amulet of the devout +1.

Lil’dude received Leather +3 it looked exactly like his old jacket, and a pair of Daggers +3, however, these daggers looked a lot nicer than his old daggers.

“Those items either have no attunement or just require being a paladin to attune to,” Annie said as the pair grabbed their new gear.

“Nice, I like my new Jacket and blades.” Lil’dude.

“This will work, I wanted to get a Holy Avenger at some point, early is better,” Rebecca said as she stored the Mansion, and equipped her new amulet, sword, shield, and armor.

They then went to test their new gear against a Bison, approaching it in the same way as the day before, unfortunately, Annie was unable to help or benefit from this fight. Stupid divine rules.

Lil’dude started off in stealth at the rear again, this time he hit the bull with a critical hit as his opener. Unfortunately, he only did 9 points of damage, for the offhand attack he missed, he then ran behind Rebecca who was in her defensive stance ready for the charge.

The Bull charged Rebecca, and failed to hit her, Rebecca then hit him with her Holy avenger, dealing 7 damage and killing the bull.

“Well, I hope Herminia can use another bull tonight,” Annie said, “because you just got the town a lot of burgers there.”

The trio then left the dungeon to the guild to sell the bull and call it an evening in the inn. they have an early morning and a long trek starting in the morning.
