The group continued their adventure and kept moving beyond fate's expectations.

And Fate had a strange way of acting as it began to make great hindrances at Dyne. Soon, more monsters appeared. There was even some stronger beast. The usual monsters in this area were Twin Tombs, which were green mantis-like monsters with green claws. But Dyne saw various variations of these monsters.

As Gomboo’s were to Gobu Gobu, Dyne knew this was the Twin Tomb's next form. The Mad Mantis.

Serus began to appear. Squads of Gizam and Nightos were there and even began to attack using their magic. But Dyne’s team was as elusive as ever.

Soon, they even saw a Level 2 Nighto and a Level 2 Gizam in the area.

The group shocked Gala, but the power of the Chicken King allowed them to escape easily.

“So even with my preparations, it seems that I will be hard-pressed to get that item?” Dyne wondered. He could see that fate’s actions were cruel.

“He Strafe, you wouldn’t pull a Final Destination move on me, will you?”

“No. The laws and fate that govern this world wouldn’t do something so cheap. You are being trained as a cultivator, and that means you will face cultivator problems. Those Gizams and Nighto are one of the ways to do it. But freak accidents aren’t somethings that occur. Of course, accidents can occur, but with you… I doubt it. You have been planting good seeds, and the laws of the world will reward you for it.”

“Good. At least I wouldn’t have to be so paranoid that the Chicken King would fall off from my suit or something…” Dyne smiled.

Soon the group reached near the forest and could see groups of monsters teeming at the entrance. It was a horrifying sight, and even Vahn and Gala shivered at the number of monsters present. They even believed that the Chicken King wouldn’t be able to protect them from all these monsters. The monsters weren’t even far from each other, but each group stood there like guards.

“Oh?” Dyne noticed something and smiled.

“Patriarch?” Gala was worried why Dyne was smiling.

“I see… It looks like this is the last challenge of fate.” Dyne smiled.

“Am I right, Strafe?” Dyne asked.

“Correct. What you see before you is Fate’s working. It is pro cultivator. While it will hinder you, it is geared to make you grow as a Cultivator. It will create situations where what you want will be presented with great risks. But it maintains the rewards and gives you the chance of claiming it.”

Dyne felt relieved.

“Fate worked to send all these monsters outside of the forest. But this also means that the forest inside will not be as clustered as it would be.” Dyne finally explained this to Gala and Vahn.

“Fate is working?” Meta copied.

“You know of Fate, Meta?”

“Not really. But since I draw power from Noaru Valley, I can sense certain peculiarities.”

“I see. Well, try to sense more. It is still Soul cultivation. Ultimately, your goal is to reach a point that those things won’t affect you.” Dyne smiled.

“I understand. This was also Lord Biron’s legacy. He somehow broke free from the workings of this Fate.”

“Alright. For now, we have to get past that. Any suggestions?” Dyne asked.

“I could summon Zenoir…” Vahn suggested.

“It should give us an opening.”

“Summon Zenoir?” Gala was confused.

“Oh right. Ra-Serus have the power to contain Serus. We’ve defeated a Zenoir and a Gimard so Vahn can summon them for a few seconds to deliver a powerful attack.” Dyne explained.

“Will that power be enough to get us inside?”

“Nope. If we do that, we will get noticed by all of them and get attacked.” Dyne answered.

“The summoning time isn’t convenient, and we would get surrounded and attacked by the monsters by the time you summon the Zenoir. It could kill a few monsters… But that’s just it.”

“Then what do you suggest, Master Dyne?”

“Let me think… First… Gala. Tell me everything you know about this forest, the monsters, and even the ecology of this place.

Gala began to explain what he knew about the monsters.

In this side of the region, the law of the jungle was greatly applied. The Twin Tombs and Mantis kind, the Bees, the large Mushroom monsters would even hunt each other. And apart from that were the Gizams and Nighto that plagued the forest regions. This caused interest and a very chaotic environment in East Voz Forest.

And to make matters worse, was the Basilisk.

After explaining, the group continued to use their camouflage and rested while Meta was constantly on guard.

Dyne was in deep thought. Dyne had learned what he could and deduced the scenario from the memory of the game, Gala's explanation, and his own understanding and theories about the Basilisk.

But the main problem that the group faced was stamina. Dyne had slowly been able to use his Soul energy to leak out. And at this point, Dyne would already use seven percent of his exhaustion through his Soul energy. But this small percentage also prevented his body from overexerting itself.

Dyne didn’t want Vahn and Gala to be too exhausted and decided to use different means in entering the forest.

Finally, Dyne decided on a method.

“Alright, guys. Here’s the plan. I’ll leave the Golden Amulet to you, and I’ll use the Chicken King and move closer. When you see that the coast is clear, sprint inside and hide somewhere in the forest. DIt’s time for some commando moves.” Dyne laughed and made his plans.

Dyne waited for the Mist to get thicker. He could sense a thick Mist approaching as Fate willed it.

This was another part of how Fate moved to attack them. Dyne was expecting the Mist since the thick Mist would have made it harder for their journey.

And right on queue, the Mist arrived.

Dyne silently moved closer and closer. The many creatures and thick grass was perfect for him. This was his home.

Dyne crawled and would sprint at the last moment. During his one week in Biron, he had been focusing on improving his ability to sense. This was the first environment that was Mist-free and had no Genesis Tree to purge the Mist. While the Genesis Tree allowed him to harness and cultivate in the Soul, the problem was it provided a thick amount of Life energy, and what Dyne needed was an environment without Life and Death.

The Fire Seed emitted Mind or Magic and was not soul-based. As such, it was Dyne’s attempt in training. If the Genesis Tree were floaters that help Dyne learn to swim, and the Mist were weights that would drag him down, Biron was the first environment that was neither. And that experience aided Dyne to improve drastically in his Cultivation.

Dyne soul cultivation had always been something that was either Light or Dark. And in Biron Monastery, Dyne could cultivate Neutral. Every night in Biron, Dyne would fall into a state of meditation and continue to cultivate his powers. He was forcing himself to move back from the Light and assume neutral.

And this was the perfect form. His neutral element made it more difficult for Dyne to be detected. And this was important because Grim was very noticeable in the Mist and could attract Serus, who was being controlled by the Dark soul powers of the Mist.

Dyne soon reached near one of the monsters and took out a small flask.

Of the various objects that Dyne procured in Biron Monastery, flammable gases drew Dyne’s attention. So, with his earthly knowledge, Dyne concocted a flammable mix which he could use as a Molotov cocktail.

“Looks like I will be forced to use this.” Dyne sighed. He was the type of hoarding gamer who didn’t want to use items unless necessary. In the game legend of Legaia, he would have ninety-nine pieces of every consumable item in the game and would use only a few magical fruits.

As the Mist covered them, Dyne immediately stood up, and Ginger sent out a small spark of fire, which lit up the small cloth at the top.

And the bottle was thrown to the far side and struck a Lippian.

BOOM!

A small explosion occurred and startled everyone. The monsters then began to chase after where the explosion was.

“AAAAWWWWW” A nearby Lippian was caught in the explosion and had the burning liquid splashed on its side. It howled as the fire raged, and I began to panic and ran around.

The commotion alerted the monsters, and it was here that Dyne found his chance.

He drew out Gimard and rushed towards a Twin Tomb and stabbed.

The powers of a Level Two Gimard was being channeled around Grim, and it enhanced the power of the stab.

“KREEEE!” The Twin Tomb screeched as Dyne continued to run forward and managed to deliver another stab towards another Twin Tomb.

Several gigantic bees that were the size of a small child flew to attack Dyne, but just when one of the bees was about to sting, Dyne had already vanished.

Dyne activated the Chicken King and ran towards another monster and would attack that Monster with Grim.

The monsters all began to chase after Dyne and rushed towards the wild and loud actions and chased after Dyne.

“GO!” Dyne shouted.

Vahn and Gala immediately ran with all their might towards the forest, which was now unguarded by monsters.

No one care to look back, and the thick Mist hindered them.

Even with the Chick King, Dyne found himself surrounded as more and more monsters began to charge and fly towards him.

“It’s now or never!” Dyne gripped Grim hard and channeled a large amount of Brimstone energy towards Grim.

This was one of the more important things that Dyne was practicing. As Grim was now Holy, he was closer to the Elemental Affinity of Dyne, and this allowed Dyne to experiment and even harness Grim’s soul energy. Although Grim was Holy, he could still release a lot of Fire energy.

The soul energy that Dyne released was so much that he even had a Magical Leaf in his mouth to help him recover his MP.

Strafe smiled as he saw it. Even when Dyne was meditating and practicing, Strafe had a hunch that Dyne could now do this.

“Soul and Mind Unity. He’s even more skilled in this than his Soul and Body Unity.” Strafe praised.

As the monsters approached Dyne and surrounded him, Dyne jumped up high, and he was almost smiling. This was his opportunity to do ‘that’ move from ‘that game.’

“Gadwin’s Secret Move! Dragon King Slice!” Dyne shouted as he stabbed Grim to the ground.

Fire and Earth energy erupted from Grim’s blade's tip and created an explosion that shattered the ground underneath.

Rocks and soil exploded outwards and threw many monsters back.

Dyne was no longer around when the dust settled and had already sprinted towards the forest using the Chicken King.

Enemies mentioned in this chapter both assume the level 1 and level 2 form. I won't be putting the level 2 form just yet, but they are basically the same, but with different color schemes like how the Gomboo is with the Gobu Gobu.

And lastly, here is the attack that Dyne used. This is an attack that appears in the PS1 Game, Grandia. The attack is called Dragon Cut, but the character yells the phrase Dyne shouts.
