The arrival of the Basilisk shocked the various groups that were fighting for supremacy in the forest.

“Gala, Vahn. Don’t look. I have a feeling that his petrification has to do with the eyes. Hurry!”

Gala and Vahn immediately closed their eyes.

“What was that?!”

“The Basilisk. Didn’t we talk about that?” Dyne frowned at Gala.

“Patriarch. Forgive me. But since I thought Vahn’s petrification was to hide Meta, I thought you lied and that this creature did not exist.” Gala bowed in embarrassment.

“Oh. That’s understandable. It’s real. I faced it. It’s one of the reasons why I managed to form my Elemental Spirit Seed. I have Brimstone. And that guy has powerful Soul energy that can petrify. It’s strong, but it has a drawback… He can’t use it too long. And when he does, it exhausts him too much!” Dyne glanced and observed the attack.

He held on the Earth Jewel, who was working to draw in the Earth Energy.

In this case, Dyne was using it to weaken the petrification effect. But then, the power of Petrification couldn’t reach him, and Dyne sighed and complained. Even though he was looking directly at the eyes of the Basilisk, the soul effects were minimal.

With the appearance of the Basilisk, which was now releasing its Earth energy together with Koru and Peco, the Ra-Seru egg began to glow a bright shine.

“This…? What is this Jedo up to?” Dyne was confused.

“He must be solidifying his element. Lord Dyne, he must be trying to bring back Yami. Or rather to become one with her. That is why he reverted back to an egg and is using those energies to hasten his growth.” Meta explained.

“I see. This makes it easier…” Dyne smiled.

The three groups continued to offer their energy, but the energy that the Basilisk was releasing was slowly drawing the Ra-Seru egg towards the Basilisk!

Koru and Peco cried a strange cry, and their monsters began to move towards the Basilisk.

The Basilisk howled as several smaller snakes suddenly appeared from its bodies and began to attack and bite the many creatures that approached.

“Oh? Basilisk and Gorgons? So are they related…?” Dyne wondered as he could see that the small snakes were like the snakes in Medusa’s head.

The battle was chaotic. Every creature that the small snakes would bite would cause the bitten creature to suffer from immense pains.

It was then that strange soul energy was leaking out of the Basilisk and caused the monsters to slowly become petrified. The small snakes took advantage at the weakness and would kill off the monsters when they got the chance.

Some of the Level 2 Monsters suddenly leaped out and ran towards the Ra-Seru egg. The sudden actions of these monsters caused a chaotic battle.

The plants, the Serus, and the monsters began to attack each other while Soru and Peco moved towards the Ra-Seru egg.

The Ra-Seru egg continued to move closer and closer as if it was a moth being drawn to the biggest fire around.

Koru and Peco went straight for the egg, but suddenly a strange force field appeared. It covered the Ra-Seru egg like an invisible diamond shield that prevented Koru and Peco from reaching it.

Dyne recognized it. It was the same powerful shield that Songi used in the game which prevented the Ra-Seru heroes from reaching a Genesis Tree. Even though the Ra-Seru heroes had already awakened several Genesis Trees, they were still unable to break this shield.

With the shield securing the Ra-Seru egg, the egg slowly moved towards the Basilisk and even began to unleash strange red lights that shot out to help the Basilisk.

“Why is the Basilisk winning?” Meta couldn’t understand. A Maverick was powerful, and yet it lost in this offering of power.

“It’s the Soul. Koru is a Maverick Seru. But they don’t know how to create such potent soul energy. Their ice is simply the resonance of their Soul power of such extreme frost. But the Basilisk’s petrification power is different! Remember… It nearly killed me! It was even so strong that it allowed me to gain enough Earth power to make an Elemental Soul Seed.

The Level 2 Serus and evolved Monsters joined in and attacked the black orb formed to protect the Ra-Seru Egg. Yet, many of them would fight other monsters as they would move in.

The Basilisk was greedily looking at the place. The powerful Mist was now surrounding them, and it was moving closer and closer that it even began to approach the Genesis Tree!

“It’s calling the Mist? Amazing. There is such power?” Dyne was amazed.

“The Death Energy that Jedo is leaking is calling it!” Meta answered.

“But this will make Jedo noticeable. Is this what happened?” Dyne frowned and began to think carefully about the progression of the story.

“I assume that it was Cort or Zeto who would give Jedo to Songi. But most definitely, it was Cort! Is this why Fate is working so hard for me to stop getting Jedo? It involves Cort?” Dyne wondered as he glanced up and could see that the thick fog of Mist approached.

“So this is what was causing that large Mist outside! And this must have been what alerted the Basilisk!” Dyne finally understood.

The Basilisk had many wounds from resisting the wild attacks of the monsters.

The once stony serpentine skin that had some glossier was turning darker and darker. Cracks could be seen appearing all over its body. The number of serpents that it released was already halved. They could not contend with the numerous charge of the monsters.

But the Ra-Seru egg was quickly approaching.

“So this is what it wanted. It was trying to be the king of this forest! He knew that it needed an army. And so it was gathering his forces south of Biron! As a Basilisk, he could command both ostriches and frogs… But Biron was not its goal! It has always been in finding his place in this forest! And Fate worked when I began to move here and must have caused Jedo’s premature awakening.” Dyne finally understood what was going on.

“Your Eyes of Destiny is rather formidable. You can even see through this. I guess, if you can outpace and outsmart Fate, it is your strength.” Strafe communicated.

“This Eyes of Destiny. I can’t explain it, but I seem to understand how things work. Although I need to deduce it a bit... It's as if I can see the future. Were there such people who could escape Fate with this?”

“Why yes. The very enemy that you will face has the greatest Eyes of Destiny in the cultivation world. I’m not surprised that your entry into my world could even create great agitation for him and the galaxies he commands. How did you think he managed to ambush and kill my master? Those with such powers are legends. Even before their severing, they can somehow challenge the workings of Fate." Strafe laughed with excitement. If Dyne was like thins, it improves his chance of repaying vengeance.

“Well… This Legaia is a world that can really help me break away from Fate’s design. Isn’t this what cultivation is about?” Dyne laughed.

“Vahn… Gala. Take these.” Dyne immediately handed them the bag he was carrying and only brought two bottles of Molotov cocktails and a single Incense.

“Master Dyne?” Gala opened his eyes and turned to the items that Dyne gave them.

“In those platinum cards are all the gold I’ve managed to acquire so far. I’ll be doing something risky. I’ll drive their attention and run. They will all chase me. Actually, the entire forest probably will. When it does, you guys reap the harvest of this battle.”

“But Patriarch! You would face it all! Besides, it would be impossible for us to collect whatever spoils there is down there because of the Mist!”

“I have a feeling the Mist that surrounds this place will follow me when I leave. This will make the Genesis Tree a safe place to stay again. And the monsters ought to be too busy so you guys can explore this place and look for stuff. If you feel contented with your harvest, use this Door of Light and these incense and run straight back to Biron!” Dyne explained quickly.

“Lord Dyne… I don’t know what you plan to do. But remember the last time you faced the Basilisk, you nearly died.” Meta reminded.

“And the last time I faced him, I didn’t have an Elemental Soul Seed. Don’t worry. I can live. Besides, I got the Chicken King with me!” Dyne held the Chicken King up.

“What are you going to do, Master Dyne?” Vahn asked.

“How can we help, Patriarch? Even if it costs me my life, I will give it!”

“The best help you guys can get is to bring whatever you find there back home! That amount of gold alone ought to be enough to outfit more Monks and create more weapons! You guys brought your own high-quality cards, right? Not to mention it could help my monsters grow! Vahn, you know what to do. I don’t know when I can return, but rest assured, I will be able to get back!” Dyne smiled.

“Understood, Master Dyne.” Vahn had a confident smile.

“Vahn! You should urge the Patriarch to-“

“He went to Drake Castle alone and stayed there for a month. So this isn’t new. Don’t worry, Gala. Trust your Patriarch” Vahn smiled.

Gala was silent. But these words were often repeated to him by Tetsu. With more of Dyne’s skill being revealed, Gala felt that this ten-year-old child was someone that he couldn't and shouldn't measure by normal standards.

“Vahn's right. I won't dare carry the title 'Patriarch' if I'm weak! Vahn, no matter how long it takes, wait for my coming. And keep on training! You guys should get stronger soon! Do all that we’ve discussed in Biron if you can’t wait for me! Tetsu is already aware of it. Feel free to improve on all those plans in case I don't make it back immediately.” Dyne smiled.

“I will!” Vahn vowed.

Dyne gazed back at the chaos below.

The Ra-Seru egg was now releasing pulses of black attacks that were throwing off the monsters and killing some. There were red flashes of light appearing that stabbed on the monsters as the egg rushed towards the Basilisk.

“Finally…” Dyne smiled as his preparations were complete.

He was carrying a bottle of Molotov cocktail and securely fastened his remaining bottle right behind him to ensure it wouldn’t break. He carried no bag as he left it all at Vahn.

Dyne concentrated at the battle below him. One of his greatest assets as a soldier and assassin was precise timing. He watched the flow of the battle and knew that the Ra-Seru egg and the Basilisk could not always keep up these powerful attacks. It would end. And since the Basilisk had to grab the egg, that invisible shield would eventually break.

“Now!” Dyne decided and broke out of his hidden spot and jumped towards the area where the Basilisk was.

The invisible force field that protected the Ra-Seru egg vanished, and the Basilisk greedily bit down to take it. But Dyne’s timing was too precise.

“Gadwin’s Secret Move! Dragon King Slice!”
