“Is everything okay?” Bo opened the door. One large purple eye could be seen by Ku Lo and Feng Huling inside the utility room.
“Yes,” Feng Huling replied, hand shooing him out as she turned back to Ku Lo. “Yes, you would need to be present in some Feng Family and Yin and Yang Sect events as my official partner.”
“That isn’t an issue, a plus even.” Ku Lo wasn’t opposed to this clause. Then again, he not once objected to the idea of acting as her wall against suitors. “I could use those parties as chances to make myself acquainted with people I otherwise couldn’t meet.”
Feng Huling’s sharp eyebrows rose. “Others see trouble, you see a possibility.”
“Problems need to be acknowledged and dealt with. The proposition has its troubles—”
“But there will be compensation for your troubles,” she finished his sentence.
Ku Lo nodded, although knowing nothing of the items promised to him as compensation. “You’ll have my answer tomorrow.”
“hmm?” She tilted her head, frowning. “What do—” she spoke two words before closing her mouth and turning her gaze away from him, who stepped towards the door.
“Fairy Feng, I’ll leave now. Is that okay?”
The response was some unintelligible muttering.
“Let’s meet at the railing, in the evening.” Ku Lo opened and closed the door behind him.
“See you around, ‘Bro’. Take care of her,” Ku Lo said to Bo and his hand patted Bo’s back. However, he didn’t stay there to chat. He began to walk back towards the classroom as Bo chuckled behind him.
Walking there, his mind became torn apart. He didn’t know whether to accept the job or not. He already had Dai Meifen as his ticket to success, so did he need another one? Was he trying to bite more than he could chew? Also, he wasn’t comfortable navigating this new world called Terra and using all of its resources to his advantage.
I hope Meifen can guide me...
Ku Xie would want me to...
“Look who it is.”
“If it isn’t the man who fooled everyone.”
NOT GOOD! Ku Lo crashed out of his deep pondering. His head spun towards the voices and found two familiar people.
“Huang Qingling? Huang Gingge?”
“Ku Lo,” the sisters responded before Huang Qingling took the lead. “How’s your cheek? Did Rin Tin Tin hurt you?”
His hand went for the 'injury' on his cheek. “Hehe...”
“Sister, you’re going to make him run.”
Huang Qingling glanced at Huang Gingge. “Right, and we don’t want that, do we?”
“No, we want him to be our Dual Cultivation partner.”
Ku Lo’s jaw dropped open and his eyes blinked.
“You weren’t supposed to say that yet.” He could hear them talk.
“Oh yeah... my mind was dazzled by his looks again... sorry.”
“At least you put it into words, now I don’t have to,” Huang Qingling said to Huang Gingge before their eyes returned. “Ku Lo, you heard her.”
“T-his... this is—”
“Extortion, yes.” Huang Qingling shrugged like she couldn’t care less.
“Sorry,” Huang Gingge said. “The opening week, it ends in two days.”
“Don’t be sorry, sister. It’s his fault for presenting us a hook on himself.”
Huang Qingling’s words resonated within Ku Lo, for they were true. This is all my fault... I even spoke to them moments before I had that crazy idea.
Huang Qingling presented a paper. “Place your index finger here... here... and here.” She pointed out three spots on the paper. “That’ll do for now.”
Of course, Ku Lo didn’t follow her instructions. “What's in it?” he asked, trying to read the fine print on the contract.
“Whatever we want, as there are no restrictions on us on it. Sounds harsh, but it isn't like you have a choice.”
That’s true, he sighed. What’s on the contract doesn’t matter. I Can't let Dai Meifen know I've fooled her. Without further verbal complaints, he signed the contract with his index finger.
When his signatures were on the paper, the spots glowed for a second.
“My turn.” Huang Gingge pulled out an identical paper.
Ku Lo took a second before deciding it was worth trying to sway this sister. “Huang Gingge, I created the scene to help you. Not to entrap someone innocent.”
“I know,” Huang Gingge said, waving the paper in her hand. “Partly that’s the reason why I do this.”
“Is this the way you repay kindness? With extortion?” His words had little effect on her, not even talking about Huang Qingling.
A short moment of hesitation later, she said, “Sign the paper.”
Ku Lo signed two out of three spots required but would appeal to her once more before signing the third. “Huang Gingge, this is extortion. This is you forcing me. Please, think this through once more. You are a sweet, innocent girl I wanted to protect with any means necessary.”
This time his plea caused her to hesitate. He could even note Huang Gingge’s hand trembled as she glanced towards her sister.
“Humph-” Stepping to the forefront again, Huang Qingling voiced her opinion loud and clear. “Idiot, my sister likes you.”
What?
“Qingling!” Immediately Huang Gingge cried out. “What are you saying?! He’s right here!” Her hand grasped and tugged Huang Qingling’s brown hair downwards.
“Ow! Ow! Ow!” Huang Qingling resisted the pull but still bent. “Y-you two were too s-stupid, I-I had to stop this farce before he would begin to hate you.”
“But. But. But here?”
“Huang Gingge,” he said as his hand halted Huang Qingling’s hair from being pulled further. “You like me?”
“yes.”
Damn, I’m popular here, he thought, freezing there. His mind went through a lot in a few seconds before concluding, I should go for it. What’s the worst that can happen? It’s all to improve my life and cultivation. Heh.
“You’re cute.” As his hand had stopped Huang Gingge from ripping her sister’s hair, it now signed the last signature. “I’ll stick around,” he said, staring into Huang Gingge’s eyes.
Eyes of the same light-blue colour were in a lock until the third person around intervened. “See, sister? Everything went as I had planned.”
“Thank you, sister.”
“Thank you,” Ku Lo thanked her too. “However, can you now tell me what’s with those papers?”
“Why should we?” Huang Qingling said. “Of course, she might tell you something. But all I care about is that you obey when I command.”
“Can’t you be more like your sister?”
“Make me.”
Ku Lo rolled his eyes before they went for Huang Gingge, the girl who was still mesmerised by him. “Hey cutie—”
Words came to a sudden end as a fist punched past his face at a speed faster than a boxer’s hook. “Remember, never play with her heart, or I’ll hunt you down. Remember.”
Having told him so, Huang Qingling took her leave.
There was no response from Ku Lo. Make me? I don’t think so! The hard-learned fact of not sticking your dick in crazy was still fresh on his mind. If she comes around, she will come around.
“You look the same, but your personalities are the opposite,” he said to Huang Gingge.
“She’s not a bad person.” Her damning of the joke forced a shudder in Ku Lo. “But I know you didn’t mean it that way. You have your own weird way with words.”
“Want to go somewhere else?”
…
“The Outer Sect Plaza huh.” Ku Lo eyed the rows of fancy buildings belonging to wealthy businesspeople and the outer sect administration branches. There was also a mass of tents in the middle of the square, forming a bazaar area. This is straight from a fantasy book, though the animals with tails and horns are missing.
“It’s much bigger than the market in Tihandu.” Huang Gingge, who had made sure he knew she wanted to visit this place, was similarly amazed. “But don’t think Tihandu is a small place! We simply don’t care for these things.” What an outsider could hear was this; however, she sure hid the words ‘the men’ right after ‘we’.
“There’s nothing wrong with shopping, even men should do it.” He didn’t even begin with her noting how great and big place her hometown of Tihandu was.
“If so, will you take me?”
“Let’s just browse the goods. I’ll take you to meet someone soon.”
He should have still read the contracts. What is he thinking? I can understand accepting fairy Feng's request, but to not even attempt to read the contracts that he was signing? esteemed Author why do you do this?
He did try.
"What is it?"
But Huang Qingling said it didn't matter. Maybe I didn't word it the best way possible.
@Szaku
True. Can't say there aren't holes in this story.
Spoken to them twice (Once during training. Once during the harassment when Ku Lo tried to act hero for her) Like this changes much.
@Szaku Trying my best
@Hid3Bush Yea I think this interaction is too forced. Not only with the mc not reading the contract, but how is his thinking working in this moment? Which do you think Meifen would be angrier at, the mc lying to her saying someone punched him, or signing what could have been a slave contract with two other women?
One could be seen as a white lie done to protect himself and his "friends." The other is going to end with him "cheating" on her and possibly worse.
Personally I think you should edit/remove this chapter and fix how the sisters come into the harem. Perhaps they find out about his relationship between him and Meifen.
Perhaps they come up to the mc like this without the blackmail, and ask him to be there partner in which he gives the same answer as he gave the fairy, and then Meifen says he can only have one other woman. Fast forward to partners choosing and he sees the sisters getting hassled and he declares that they are his as well to protect them. I would think that Meifen would be much more forgiving/accepting in that situation instead of a blackmail/potential slave.
Plus if the fairy and Meifen finds out that they blackmailed/threatened him to join the harem, will they be as welcoming? Would they not be hostile to these two new women?
Anyway its your story do what you want. I just fell like this event is too forced.
Best of luck
Quoting, @KidBuu699 "Fast forward to partners choosing and he sees the sisters getting hassled and he declares that they are his as well to protect them" End of quote. I wish this was my idea like 4 months ago
Your criticism is very valid. Duly noted. Although, from how I see it, doing this is still better than his plot being revealed. The incident could be big enough for Ku Lo to be expelled from the sect IMO, and if nothing else, he pissed a lot of people in the outer court who would come for some justice.
Reading more of this... This comment will add hundreds of words into an upcoming chapter.
@Szaku Not to insult the author but I am not exactly here for a well thought out reasoning/story/plot. I am here for other "plot" reasons. Its just with the way that he is writing the story its not a pure smut story. It is a blend because he is doing a fairly decent job with the cultivation/sect aspect of the story.
The author just needs to figure out the way the mc thinks/acts. At one point he is glad he escapes one forced relationship but now he jumps into another forced one. At one point he is having the fairy wait for his answer so he can get some outside wisdom(which is wise) yet at the next point he throws that wisdom away by not reading a contract. He can also think of the cons/benefits of entering a relationship with the fairy but can't seem to realize that the "blackmail" that the girls have on him isn't really that big of an issue. Plus, if they reveal it to the enforcement division they will be in trouble too because they lied with him.
@Hid3Bush Story isn't set in stone. You can always edit the story completely or just make small changes. An example of a small change would be to have the scene play out exactly how it was before but make it so the mc doesn't sign.
He calls there bluff, like I said in the other comment they lied too so they will get in trouble as well. Have the one sister that likes him apologize before the choosing ceremony and then he feels bad and decides to save them even though they tried to blackmail him.
Plus I don't think the incident is big enough for hm to be expelled especially with the background we the readers know but what the mc knows. He lied to an elder which is a big offense but the Sect Masters granddaughter kidnapped him. . In no way I would say to try to blackmail the sect master but if I was in his situation I would think the sect master would step in.
Also, there is one thing in cultivation world more important than rules and that is talent. With the talent he has shown with the older lady and in his practice so far I think the sect would ultimately ignore what he did. As long as his talent is great and the crime not severe(murder/theft) I think he would be ok. Revenge against outer sect people could be covered by his teacher/lover and the fairies family.
End note is what we the reader know: With his cultivation talent/root there is no way in hell the sect master would let anything happen to him. Be it expelled from the sect or other outer sect members going for revenge the sect master would not allow it. The mc is the sect's meal ticket as long as his talent remains. So unless the sect master is late saving him and his roots get damaged he will let nothing happen to him.
@KidBuu699
Just finished the addition. 300extra words in the next chapter that revolve around something you said.
But how do they lie with him?
Isn't a big issue. Imagine you piss off tens of superhumans. Those outer sect disciples would handle him if the sect wouldn't. Then he'd lose Feng Huling and Dai Meifen, as who would want to associate with him anymore? Rin Tin Tin?

Problem. Ku Lo doesn't know this. And the sect master wants him out of the sect (To move him into the big sects)
@Hid3Bush "Imagine you piss off tens of superhumans" but you forget you are a superhuman. That your woman is a stronger superhuman then the ones who would come after you.
I also think you are overplaying/overestimating what happened. He told a lie to his lover. Who hasn't told a lie to their lover? I bet Dai Meifen has been lied to before. Is this lie big enough to break there relationship? I highly doubt it. If anything Dai Meifen would be proud/happy about it. Why would she be? The reason is that she can't help her lover publicly without a reason. This lie allowed her to help the person she loves/sleeping with without exposing their relationship.
Also why would he lose Fairy Huling? It is more likely he would lose Dai than he would Huling. For one the Fairy was there when the event happened. So its not the lie for her. Two by being in a relationship with her he is already making an enemy out of a lot of people in the outer sect. She has already mentioned this and considering she was there I doubt any of the people the mc got in trouble were closely associated with her.
Finally outer sect revenge. They can't kill the mc while he is on sect grounds. So unless he leaves he is ok. Most they could do is challenge him to duels/fights. In an devil sect or one that focuses on combat this would be a big concern. However, he is in a dual cultivation sect, they probably don't have rules that force their members to fight. So the mc has a "favor" from the sect master, the fairy girls family, his teacher, and if necessary the ultimate trump card of the sect master's granddaughter(wouldn't use that one). If I was him just with this information alone I would think I would be fine.
However, even with all of this there is one piece of information that is most important. One that I have mentioned a couple of times but not pointed out. One that I think is important in deciding how big of an issue this event is. Drum roll please. . . . . . . . . . The event happened in the Outer Sect with Outer sect people. Why is important? Cause the sect doesn't give a F about the Outer Sect really. They only care about the outer sect to do the menial(less important) jobs and to make the sect some money. Besides those two things the outer sect is only good for weeding out the talented disciples. I think you are putting a lot more importance on the Outer Sect then necessary. Compared to mortals yes they are more important by a long shot but the same could be said about the outer/inner of the sect.
Lastly with your last line I would say you worded that wrong. The sect master does not want him out of the sect. He wants to "sell" the mc to a bigger sect. He wants to be rewarded by those larger sects for willingly having the mc go there. If they discovered his talent they would come and force the sect to let him leave, but if the Sect master gives the word himself then treasure awaits him/the sect.
@KidBuu699
Yeah worded wront. That's what i mean pretty much.
Were at an impasses on other stuff though. We can argue in private, but not here. That ok?
@Hid3Bush Not really an argument more of a difference of opinions. I just think its too much back and forth between the character being smart enough to wait for deals and figure out the Fairy's family situation and then turn around and instantly sign a contract without reading it.
For example what would he do if in the contract it says that he can only be with the sisters. Would he break up with Dai and end things with the fairy.
Big thing is consistency with characters. Just figure out how your character thinks and then use that in his situations. One problem a lot of novels have is this idea. At one moment there mc is a genius who never makes a mistake. The next moment he makes a mistake that could be seen a mile away.
@KidBuu699
I could always throw in that "he didn't think about everything then, and felt pushed". But yeah, imo he has no other choice there, and it isn't like the sisters would give him space to think
Of course hed break the contact if they told him to kill Dai Meifen or something.
@Hid3Bush He had more power in that situation then you think. The girls had a "blade" over his head(which I don't think so) but he also had one above theres. The count down to the partner choosing event is coming. If they are willing to blackmail him when one of them really cares about him, then what kind of person are they trying to run from?
Worst cause scenario comes and he gets kicked out of the sect, the sisters are right back at where they began at.
Also in a world of cultivation would he know if a contract has any magic to it? What happens if it forces him somehow or if he dies from failing it? Doubt the twins could get a contract like that but he doesn't know enough about this world to make those kind of decisions.
@KidBuu699
They could just partner each other
It is shown the contract is indeed magical
To me, they do have a blade on his neck.
@Hid3Bush If they could just partner with each other then why risk destroying the future relationship between the one sister and the mc. From the way she acted she regretted this plan. From the way you wrote the scene there has to be a reason pushing her to do this. Plus if the sisters partnered with each other one would have to do yang. Also if neither of their talent is good what is stopping some senior from coming along and forcing both of them.
@KidBuu699
There are reasons why they do this. About 50chappies left as to why, but they do have their own reasons.
I could answer all of these, but they would be
