520. Revelation
And Salvos was gone.
Haec watched as the portal closed overhead, and the pressure on his shoulder eased. Regnorex’s rage calmed. The dark aura that had caused the entire Domain of the Demon King to quake dissipated.
He stood there in silence, but none of the Primeval Demons dared to move. Haec closed his eyes as he lay there, sighing softly. He should have been unhappy— upset that he could no longer cross through to the Mortal Realm.
But he was content. After all, he had finally seen Salvos— the real her— after so long. And that was enough for him.
“It is no matter.”
Regnorex’s words caused Haec to jolt up. The gathered Primeval Demons raised their heads, while the Archdemons still dared not to move. The Demon King strode up the cracked stairway leading up to his throne, his demeanor starkly different than what it was just moments before.
“Levithus had done his duty. The partial merging of the planes has been completed.”
Haec slowly rose to his feet, watching as Regnorex settled onto his vast throne. The gathered Primeval Demons bowed their heads low and listened to their King.
“Desolation will come to an end. The cycle of Advent continues, and Revelation will begin. The Beast shall return to its slumber. The Devil…”
The Demon King paused. For a moment, a black aura flickered around him, and Haec felt the overwhelming fear seeping in once again. But that moment passed.
“The Devil shall has played his tricks once more, but this time, he shall pay for what he has done.”
The Primeval Demons exchanged a fearful glance. Even Haec understood what that entailed. Regnorex simply leaned back on his throne and closed his eyes.
“Soon, the Mortal Realm will understand hell. And I will lead us all to salvation.”
End of Volume 5 Part 5
Author's Notes:
I will be taking a two week break from Salvos public chapters now that volume 5 is finally fucking finished!
This took me over a year of non-stop uploads, where I never went more than 5 days without writing a Salvos chapter. But it's finished! Patreon is currently still posting because they already had their break, so it's honestly the best time to subscribe.
The next chapter will be out some time between the 12th the 14th. But wait-- as I said, patrons will continue to get a chapter during this period, which may seem unfair. However, when they all hit this chapter, they all did face with the same ~14 day break of no chapters.
Anyway, regarding volume 5... in total, Salvos volume 5 was split into five parts and over 600,000 words long. I haven't done the full calculations yet, and when I do, I'll let you guys know what its total tally was. But man, I initially planned for everything that happened in volume 5, and everything that happened in volume 4, to happen in only a single volume. What was initially was supposed to be 200,000 words spiraled out of control to 800,000 words.
I wish I was more concise in my writing. But I know that I wouldn't have been satisfied otherwise. Even though I wrote a few bad chapters over the course of moving countries, I am still happy with how it turned out as a whole.
Volume 6 is going to be incredibly hard to write, honestly. So part of my break is also trying to figure out what I need to write when I return from my break.
It's only two weeks. It's not that long, especially when you can check out Amelia: The Level Zero [Hero] while waiting! It has over 70 chapters now, and it'll continue to update even over the break from Salvos!
I'm also going to have another popularity poll posted tomorrow, because the last one was kinda for the lulz with Salvos included. Stay tuned for that.
Thanks for reading always <3

Well then. The binge has been completed. I have arrived.
I'd say even though from Volume 5 part 2 onwards there were some... disappointing developments and moments that felt a bit contrived due to the necessity of weaving too many plot points together, giving too many POVs for situations that could have been told in a report style format and derailing the personal character development of most of the characters, I still enjoyed the overall experience of reading Salvos.
The way you finished up Volume 5 was also good. We got a good resolution for Belzu and a good resolution to the war with the setting of a new, appropriate plot hook.
Perhaps the thing I'm most looking forward to in Volume 6 is simply being back to focusing the narrative on Salvos. What I've always liked most about this series is her journey of (self-)discovery, her curiosity about the world, her exploration of new cultures and peoples and locations all in the pursuit of becoming more Salvos. The politics and war and stuff kinda started to detract from that aspect of the novel and as such I am excited to follow her on her new journey towards... whatever it is she will do.
PS:. @MelasD: I don't know if you follow the comment threads here but were is best for you to read? I'll probably go for Patreon once I'm a bit better financially situated but is it more helpful for you to have people read on Scribblehub or on RoyalRoad?
I’ve been waiting for the chap all day can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction to salvors being a demon
Nice and congrats
This story is still going strong :)
Now that Salvos came back from vacation she can really start grinding again.
Are you in hiatus or something?
Only five days left
Congrats on completing this volume. Now I found an error in this last chapter
”The Devil shall has played his tricks once more, but this time, he shall pay for what he has done.”
this has a grammatical error. It should be
“The Devil has played his tricks once more, but this time, he shall pay for what he has done.”
So wait a minute, does regnorex truly not fear The devil? Likes does he not know how strong devil boy truly is or what?
Edit: woops, I forgot my congratulations, truly terrible aren't I
No matter, congrats on the finish of the entirety of book 5
I assume that he and the devil are on par. Both are 'Primordial Demons'. Meaning above level 200. The Devil has been sitting around doing nothing for who knows how long, so he probably isn't all that strong as Primordials go. The Beast is probably stronger, honestly.
Reggie's biggest advantage is probably that he can spend cannon fodder on killing Sal, and Sal has no one to help him but Salvos.
@Cipiteca396 fair enough I suppose
I'm thinking that you guys are giving Reggie too much credit... the title Devil is completely different than a Demon King... After all, why Devil won't fight?
Well... I doubt Sal would lose to Reggie.. But I doubt Sal would fight too, since If Sal fought in the Netherworld, it would be ripped apart even by accident... After all, Sal exist in the same time as dragons...
@P_F12
I guess we were thinking this way because of Reggie's confidence and the fact the devil admittedly is just sorta comic relief ( like oh my goodness, it's hard to think of him as this super mega powerful guy when he comes in and jokingly plays as Salvos's dad....only for it to bite him in the butt )
@P_F12 My main issue of thinking of the Devil as being overwhelmingly strong is that he got nervous when the Progenitor Centinel confronted Salvos. If he was terribly powerful, he shouldn't have any issue with wiping the floor with her. It was an even fight. I suspect it would be the same with Reggie.
@Cipiteca396
Thinking about it... Progenitor Centinel was on the same level as Reggie? Since all demons were trying to fight agaisnt Reggie, on the same place as him while thinking they had a chance...
Salvos' reaction to noticing Sal's powers show some of his jokes makes it easy to make others forgot Sal is the Devil and he existed in a time before the planes were closed, while Sal still can pop anywhere without messing, destroying or putting more holes in the planes... So, Sal has a lot of control than we can expect of a Devil trolling Sal with many Dad jokes...
If I understand correctly, Sal is a deity similar to the Faerie Queen, the Spirit Lord, the Beast and yes, the Demon King.
While Sal is undoubtedly very old and powerful, we do not quite now how full divinity works. And then there is the implication to consider that the Demon King is Alexander in some shape or form, probably a fusion of both - a being that draws from a different kind of Divinity entirely.
And yet we know that Sal is not all-powerful. He is left powerless in the face of the corruption. We know that the Dragons, the old Gods ventured forth in their attempt to stop the corruption and did not return.
The Gods are not infallible. And neither is the Devil.
@Salted_Fysh Yea. but we didn't see the Demon King ever fighting the World Corruption to compare the strenghts, which is a good point to compare their strenghts
@P_F12 given that the Dragons were (seemingly) unable to stop the corruption even though they were the wardens of the Nexeus back when planehoppers regularly stopped by and that it still persists despite multiple true deities existing at the current time, I think it's safe to say that none of them are able to deal with the corruption as a whole.
