Chapter Seven

A/N: A new character may appear~~! Have an enjoyable read!

Shoot! It’s begun! My animalistic instincts are flashing warning signs! My inner gut is telling me that it’s going to be dangerous from now on. Why?! God, do you really hate me?! I wanted to at least have a wife!!! Was that too much to ask?! If you’re up there, then the only way to right all of those mistakes that you made is by allowing me to survive this training! You owe me that!
……………….
Somewhere far away.

“Hmmm. What is this feeling that I’m getting? Did I accidentally curse a mortal and they’re telling me to right my mistakes? Pssssh. Of course not! I haven’t done that for millennia! That’s a new record for me!”

Poor Cadmar…..
……………….

I hope that God heard my cry of help! Please allow me to survive this! You must!

“Well then, let’s start this, shall we?”

In contrast to Feeh’s cheerful expression, I was feeling that doom was near me. The smiling Feeh looked more like a Demon King than the father figure that raised me right now. I must survive! With that one goal in mind, I responded to Feeh by saying, "Okay, let’s start.”

“Great! First let’s practice your stance.”

“The basic Krav Maga stance provides a stable platform for attacking, defending, and to move in a threatening tactical situation, which makes it one of the most important Krav Maga training exercises while practicing.”

“Step forward a comfortable distance with your non-dominant leg. So, step forward with your left leg since your right leg is your dominant one.”

“Un, un!”

I did exactly as Feeh told me to do.

“Keep your knees slightly bent and raise up onto the balls of your feet. Your hands should be up in front of you to ward off an imaginary attacker, while your elbows are down and are tight so as to protect your ribs, spleen, and liver. You already know what those are, right?”

“Yup! I’m doing it!”

“You also need to keep your eyes up but tuck your chin slightly to protect the soft places which are targets on your face.”

“Uh, huh!”

“This basic stance should be your reset point for the other physical Krav Maga training exercises. It allows for stable movement, front, back, left, and right, while also priming your body for explosive strikes. From this position, you can maintain or close distance, strike with your hands and feet, defend yourself, or take off at a sprint if you need to run.”

“Run?”

“Yes, Cadmar. There may be a time when you face an enemy that is much stronger than you. That is why you should be prepared to run at any moment in time.”

“Okay, I understand now! Thanks for explaining it to me.”

Surprisingly, this session is going very smoothly. I knew it! My gut feeling was wrong! Hahahaha! Oops, I probably shouldn’t tilt my head back even if I am laughing in my head. Wait, why is Feeh grinning? It isn’t what I’m thinking, right? Right?

“Well then, you seem to be doing good while practicing the stance. Let’s see if your usage of it in actual combat is good or not! Fufufufufu!”

“What’s with that scary laugh?!”

“Cadmar, first lesson in general fighting: Never let your guard down!”

Saying that, Feeh punched my hands that were out in front of me, warding me off from imaginary attackers.

Against Feeh’s buff hands, my weak child hands could do nothing. Feeh’s full powered punch landed and it HURT! I unintentionally let out a groan of pain as I fell to my knees.

Feeh heard that and said with a smile on his face, "Aww! You possibly can’t be hurt from just that, right? I only used ¼ of a percent of my strength after all!”(A/N: 0.0025 of his total strength. That’s in percentage, mind you!)

I felt as if my arms were broken. God, did you abandon me? Did you?

“Oh my, you actually did get hurt! Oops!”

I glared at Feeh. Really, was “oops'' the only thing he could’ve said? He doesn’t even have a shred of being sorry in his eyes. If I wasn’t in pain and didn’t have to clench my teeth to reign in the pain, I would’ve probably said that directly to Feeh.

“Here, let me heal you.”

Saying that, Feeh came close to me and looked at my hands.

“Hmmm, so some damaged cells and some fractured bones. Let’s see, ah yes.”

Feeh then pointed one finger to my arms and a golden light came out of his hands. The light covered my arms and started to shine brighter. Then, it started to dim until there was no more of the golden light. At that same moment, I felt the pain on my hands getting lesser and lesser. I still felt a bit of a tingly feeling on my hand, but it soon went away as well.

I was just about to ask what magic Feeh used but didn’t get to since Feeh interrupted me by saying, "No questions about magic! You can only fight right now! Now, get back to your stance! After I finish counting to ten I will come at you again! One….. two…… three……. four……..five……..”

I quickly got back on my feet and took the stance again. Just in time as well, because Feeh attacked me again. As you may expect, Feeh healed me again. Then repeat.

We repeated that process for a few hours until the sun was starting to set, and I was starting to get tired. I bet that if I were to be put on a bed at this moment, I would fall asleep right away. However, I also seemed to be making progress. My arms didn’t get as hurt as much when Feeh punched them. It also seemed as if Feeh was getting pushed back a bit more than usual.

Though it was only a couple of inches at best, this was still progress! It showed that my efforts weren’t in vain! All those punches I had to endure; it wasn’t for naught! God hasn’t forsaken me!

……………….

Somewhere far away.

“Hmmmm. Really, what is this feeling that I’ve been feeling recently?”

“Did you say anything, my lord?”

“Oh, I didn’t say anything, goddess of luck. Carry on with your turn!”

“Yes! I got a six! That means I’ll be able to go up six squares~~! Ohhh! I get to go up so high because I landed on the snake’s tail! Another snake’s tail! Another~! Ahhh! I’ve gotten to the 100!!!”

“Sigh, this is why I don’t like playing with you, goddess of luck.”

“But my lord, it’s just that you don’t have “luck” on your side~”

You have my best regards, Cadmar…..
……………….

Why do I feel like my life is a lie all of a sudden? Meh! I can’t bother with those thoughts! I need to block Feeh!

“Hehehehehehehe! My boy, you seem to have gotten better! Yay! I’ll be able to toy with you more! Hehehehe!”

“You’re not even trying to hide it now?!”

“What~?”

Even while having this conversation, I was fending off Feeh’s attacks. I was sweating profusely and probably stank like crazy. Even so, I kept blocking the attacks. The punches that landed on me were fewer than when we had started, but I still got hit five times per eight hits. I bet that I had bruises on my body.

On second thought, I probably didn’t, since Feeh healed me right after I got bruised really, really, really badly. That reminds me of another thing that improved while I was fighting— rather fending, but still— Feeh. My recovery speed got faster. This probably happened because I learned how to control the flow of blood in my body.

Whenever I got bruised so badly that I started to bleed, I instinctually slowed down the blood flow in that area. I don’t know when I started to do this, but I do know how I did it— I used magic.

First, I thought of water freezing up and turning into ice. I then thought of the ice being placed on the bruised area. This made it so that the coldness that I had created from the imaginary ice would be directed towards the bruised area.

Because of the coldness that the ice gave off, my blood started to flow more slowly. That meant that there was less blood coming out from my blood vessels. There was a drawback to this, though. I needed to do this right after I got injured, since that was the only moment Feeh couldn’t keep attacking me.

After pulling off an attack, you need to get back in shape so that you can prepare for another one. Feeh wasn’t an exception to this rule and had to use up one second to get back in position. In that one second, I needed to do two things: I had to create coldness from magic and slow down my blood flow, as well as get my stance back.

I had to ready myself right away, because Feeh wouldn’t waste an extra second. He would just punch right away. I had to get back in position quickly, or else I wouldn’t be able to fend off Feeh’s punch. After a few thousand rounds of doing this, my body had been wired to automatically do these things.

“I think that that’s enough for today,” said Feeh, looking at me calmly.

Where was that battle maniac Feeh from a little while ago? It’s as if he’s completely disappeared! He was definitely there a few moments ago!

I wished to respond to Feeh’s statement, but I couldn’t. I was just too tired to respond to Feeh.

If only there was a bed there and some warm food. Ahhh, heaven is probably that, isn’t it? No good! I’m losing my common sense! I need to recover! Quickly, quickly!

I slapped my cheeks(A/N: Not those kinds ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). ), and I got up.

“Water,” I croaked to Feeh.

“Here,” replied Feeh to me, handing me a glass of water that had come out from thin air. Feeh made it with magic.

I gulped down mouthfuls of the water and somehow the glass didn’t get empty. I could’ve sworn that I drank almost 5 times as much water as the glass could contain, but it still didn’t run out of water. No need for questions! Right now, I’ll just enjoy the sensation of cool water going down my throat.

After I drank enough water, I took the glass away from my lips. I thought that it would still contain water, but it actually didn’t. I handed the glass over to Feeh without saying anything, and as soon as it reached Feeh’s fingers, it melted(?) into a liquid-looking thing and slid into Feeh.

I wanted to ask Feeh what had just happened, but he said before I could, "It seems that you are really tired. Go rest up, since I have deemed that tomorrow  is a free day. I have decided upon a schedule for you to follow. Every other day you will learn martial arts with me. Okay?”

All thoughts of questions left my mind when Feeh said the words “Go rest up..” and I muttered to him, "Okay.”

“Then come on. Let’s get you to your room, so that you can sleep. You don’t need to do any chores tonight, nor do you need to shower. Just go rest and do anything you want tomorrow. Go on! I will be coming back to the hut in a bit.”

Just before I went out of the arena, I realized that Feeh had gotten back to wearing his robe. I couldn’t remember at what point in time he had gotten back his robe, but he had. I didn’t turn back to ask questions since I was very tired.

I got to our two-story hut, which I believe shouldn’t be considered a hut, and went straight to my room. I opened the brown door and went straight to my bed. I laid down on it and it only took a few moments for me to fall asleep. Another day passed in my life, and it was another wonderful time that I had, no matter how much pain my body had felt.
