Maybe i should sleep instead,

And another of a racoon stealing food from cats.

When i was young i fell right to sleep,

But now there is fight in me.

Even though it will only hurt the following day,

The mind refuses to sleep, trying to regain

Some part of the day lost 

To a very important job. 

The fireworks are gone.

Imagine being someone

Who launches rockets

At 3:00 AM. when i was 

At school there was never

A peep from me, afraid 

A silly word would intrude.

Taught never to disrupt, 

Yet i imagine the rocket

Scientist received 

Those same lessons

Yet there is burning

Above his sky, noise

Radiated across 

The neighborhood.
