Upon the grasping of hands, which it didn't seem to understand I stealthily looked through... her mind for the language they used. It was interesting to say the least, the use of a written language is not used fully, instead they imprint their thought and intentions as they write...

With one more firm shake, we let go.

"Hello... Selendis was it?" I spoke and also projected with a limited use of Mind Magic, it costed so little I wouldn't reach overdraw again.

The two burning sockets where her eyes laid burned bright I guess in the same way they would express shock by widening their eyes.

"I am surprised you know our language let alone the name of a lonely Arch-templar." She replied... "But nonetheless." Slamming her fist into her chest she stated. "I am Arch-templar Selendis of the Donlindagrad City State, current leader of this military operation."

I saluted back, with a closed fist but with my index and middle fingers out almost pointing out Mother's symbol on my side cap. "I am Dungeon Mistress Jean of the DIS Phoenix. Well met." I replied professionally. "But if I may ask, what 'operation' do you speak of?"

Selendis turned, what I believe is their version of tight lipped. "I can't say. Unfortunately."

With a very small use of Earth Magic, I make six stone stools and sat down. "Well then, come please sit and get anyone else." I said and gestured.

Selendis turned and projected in a tightened way, that I found it hard to hear... but she had just told everyone to be at ease and get your representatives forward.

She did sit down, though awkwardly. After a brief time four more appeared, one was the person Medusa pointed out. He wore the most gaudy piece of shit ever... but basing his role off those... Nuns? Is he meant to be a priest? If so... he looked more like a fat brat from a noble family who got his way all the time.

Next was a mage judging from the amount of Mana he is emitting... he had a silk type of robe that was cut short for his arms and legs, and had a decent looking breast plate with gauntlets that looked to have been tailored to aid in his line of work... hmm these people don't use staffs or staves.

The middle one was odd, he smelled like a veteran but seemed skittish. His breast plate looked old and was covered in dents, and scratches. His shoulders had what seems to be epaulettes with several different colors, probably the same way we have award bars. He had a tan and green cloth below his armor and had a sidearm on his hip.

Then was Selendis, her armor was newer... no, better maintained but I could still see where blades cut along her chest plate and her gauntlet had similar cuts. She didn't have any shoulder iconography but her helmet which she took off and rested it on her lap, with a mix of red and blue plumage, and a single golden feather that stuck out straight...

The last one, was clearly an engineer. He wore no armor just a heavy coat with a dozen pockets, and was the only one that had clothing that went down to his knees. He looked the most civilian among them.

"Greetings, all. I am Jean Dungeon Mistress of the DIS Phoenix, I have already met Arch-templar Selendis, so could you all introduce yourselves."

The one to my left scoffed, "If the primitive that needs to spea-!" With a small application of Air Magic I start choking him.

"Now please good sir, let's not be hasty with the insults." I said and released him... I smiled devilishly, "Now again. Names and Titles."

"Haha... she got you good!" The one to my right barked a laugh, "Well then, I am Lead-apprentice Marsalis, until further notice, the highest ranked representative of the Smiths."

I nodded, Selendis passes as I already knew it. Next is the skittish male. "I am First leftenant Polos, highest ranked member of the Home Guard and expected to be such for the foreseeable future."

"I am Belitos, Senior of the Psi-users present."

The last one I knew would be an issue, since he was fuming. "I am Arch-priest Naon and next inline to the High Cardinal position, so I expect to be treated with respect primitive!" His tone was definitely the spoiled brat who got whatever they wanted.

Thankfully one of the Enlistees shouts at him but he couldn't understand her words and the same way she had no idea what he said but based off tone. Thankfully Marsalis did asked what she had said.

With a chuckle I relayed her words. "Watch your tone, alien scum. If you dare to keep talking to the Empress like that we will kill you." The rather jovial tone I had said it to them, made it seem I wasn't joking or exaggerating.

Selendis and the rest other than the obvious catch the discrepancy in my titles, "I am sorry, are you a Dungeon Mistress or an Empress?"

"Technically both, while aboard my ship I am a Mistress but while on solid ground I am an Empress. The two titles are interchangeable... but I prefer... the less flamboyant title of Mistress." I gave a half truth to avoid the annoyance of being unable to lie fully. But I turn fully to look at Naon. "Well, one I have no idea of the important of anyone's positions are here, outside of Polos there since we have a rank that is translated over... yours? I have no idea. Plus respect is earned and not given freely."

He shakes at my words, "Naon, I recommend you don't piss off Mistress Jean." Selendis ordered.

"No let him, I could care less about the words of insects, who don't understand when his betters are talking." I state, and truly ignore him.

"I'll see you dead." He growled softly.

"Then I would simply walk back after reawakening at my ship and kill you myself." I said, "Just for all of you to know, I am immortal, I can't die."

"A bold claim." Selendis said. "And I doubt you would be willing to prove it."

"Well no." I said... but smiling lightly. "Well, the functionality of my immortality is for you to find out... but now, what I am going to say next isn't a question. It's a demand I want answered... what are you going to do to my ship?" My tonal shift from somewhat jovial to dead serious tells them I want answers.

The two military minded keep their minds on the fact I with most likely an off handed mentioned I was immortal... but without proof that could counter my words they have to take it... either as a bluff or as a half-truth and they give my Enlistees behind me wondering if I was referring to my whole race.

Belitos and Marsalis take it in their respective fields of knowledge, one thinking along the lines of cloning maybe, and the other thinking about possession...

But these are what I could gleam from their surface thoughts anything more will be noticed.

The last one... his mind was like a dam after bursting... and he and the church was warned about me arriving...  I was disappointed that his mental defenses were so weak. I watched in mild interest as Naon slowly stood up to his full height of 6'5...

"I have heard enough..." He said, and before Selendis or Polos could do anything that could save his ass. He flicked his wrists the action was met with a pair of blue plasma-esk blades going over his hand and out an extra half foot, my senses told me those did have a chance to kill me within a strike. Using the majority of my remaining Mana to use teleportation magic to send my sabre and flintlock back to the dungeon.

"Think carefully now." I said, as I too rose from my sit.

Naon didn't respond and punched missing me as I guided his hand sending his strike into the ground. I gave him a knee to his head on his way down.

The Enlistees drew, reloaded and were about to start firing when the Nuns sent... lightning... at them, frying a few before they backed up.

With Naon staggered from my strike, running towards the Nuns, and doing so I closeline Polos and Belitos preventing them to act for the moment.

Once among the Nuns, who seemed surprised to be engaged. Punched one in the back of her head, which she collapses. Next one I kick in the back with her scream and crack told me her spine was gone. The last three stared in terror.

Hearing the sound of a mad dash behind me, I grab the closest and turned around with my meat shield and Naon's blades entered her body pushing into Naon... I am even more disappointed he fights like a child with instructors that didn't want to hurt him. And even with my little push I managed to put him on his back.

"Enlistees retreat!" I ordered at them, but was met with a determination as they charged... fine then. Die for me...

While this was going on Selendis and Polos's forces got involved and countercharged my Enlistees. Finishing off the last Nun with a simple snapping of her neck...

Looking about... well at least my troops had died totally.

"You have any idea what you have done?" Naon asked his tone was smiling?

"Nothing at all, simple act of self-defense... blame yourself, who couldn't even kill me in a single strike." I countered.

He gave a belly laugh, suddenly I felt anew presence behind me. Jumping to the side, a scythe like weapon appeared from nothing. After such a male with a slim body covered in a neck to foot body suit with parts cut out around his elbows and other joints. His weapons was a scythe with the same plasma blade.

Giving the new person a smirk I got to my feet. "Lets dance." I taunt, and rushed forward catching his next strike by grabbing the staff of his scythe before he could fully swing it. After getting this close I head butt him, disorientating him in the process and with a better grip I pull it away from him, and toss it aside.

Throwing out a punch he caught my shoulder hitting it harder then I'd expected as I heard it crack.

My dungeon instincts told me that he was worthy of a reward... going low of his next attack I punch his side, making him jolt as my punch was just as hard. With a motion I could just see he drew a dagger from behind his back and slashed out with several precise strikes as I needed to block with my arms...

"Not done yet." I stated dryly and healed with my remaining Mana...

With a nearly imperceptible nod we rushed each other, I punched his right shoulder and with a loud crunch shattered it, while his blade entered my chest... with his left arm he took me and laid my body down gently onto the ground.

With what little of my strength what left I sent a special message to him and him alone. "Come to my ship alone... you have earned a prize. Tell No One."

He seemed slightly confused but gave another imperceptible nod, that I only caught. I relaxed and my sense of what was happening around me ended.

.

(Blood Hunter's Pov)

.

This person... Jean's request was intriguing. She fought like none I had seen before... her form was deceptive, she was far stronger then I had expected.

She had managed to both shatter my shoulder and yet mocked me to go to her ship alone...

Her chest stopped rising she must have passed...

No. As a member of the Blood Hunters I would be remiss to refuse anyone's last request. She said I earned a prize... does she treat this like a game? If her statement of being immortal is true...

Then something fascinating happened, her body and clothes started turning into pure Psi and the motes of pure Psi and headed towards her ship... then what she said is true. I have but one cause of action, reactivating my cloaking field I start my trek towards the ship.

.

(Selendis POV)

.

I grab Naon by the collar of his armor and throw him onto the ground. "Are you a fool?" I asked, my templars form a circle around him preventing him from leaving my wrath.

"What do you mean!? She was a devil from the stars!"

"Cut the shit! We have no idea who she was!"

"Well now she is dead, and thanks to the Blood Hunter my Father hired!"

"Which alone can get you and him arrested!" I countered and kicked him in the side. "Our orders from the High Chancellor said to secure the site, but if!" Kicking him again. "There are anyone alive!" Another kick. "We were told to talk! To! Them!"

Glaring at the bleeding mess I step away towards Jean's body... to find both her and the Blood Hunter are gone...

"Where is her body?!" I asked, thinking about it she sent her weapons away before the fighting? Was she expecting it? No but the blood hunter is also gone but that is a minor concern now.

Suddenly everyone looks over at where her body was...

"Is that what she meant by immortality?" Asked Belitos, "Does she do something akin to what she did to her weapons?"

"No idea, can you see what Psi she may have been using." I commanded and wondered over to the soldiers Jean had brought... "Where they any good?" I asked my second-in-command.

"No... but they had a fire once their leader was attacked that matched ours if not more... and once they grasped they couldn't get through our Psi shields they focused fire on the Home Guard, so they have suffered injuries but no deaths."

"What do you mean a 'fire'?" I inquired, that isn't normally a word he would use.

"Once battle was joined in the close combat they took to using their numbers to overwhelm us, two of ours... to put it simply were drowned by them and had nearly their gauntlets torn from them. Lucky the Home Guard helped filling in the number... but I do not believe we could have one that battle with at least a death without their help." My second-in-command reported.

I am not payed enough for this.
