Chapter 35— Magic architecture

"Hey, Ars. Can I just say this?"

"What is it, Baito-nii?"

"Your hideout is really a piece of crap. It's like a prison, this."

　I was complained to by my brother, Baito-nii, who was supposed to officially help me with my work.

　I succeeded in instantly remembering the shape of the entire building without any deviation.

　There is often a method of displaying a building layout using CGI on a computer, so that method may be close to that.

　The whole graphic view was being inputted into my brain.

　My brother may be surprised if I make this inn that I remember perfectly.

　With that in mind, I decided to conduct an inn reproduction experiment.

　When I tried to make a building with magic for the first time, I fainted because all my magical power was gone.

　However, this time I remembered the whole thing, so I completely remember the internal structure from the stairs to the width of the counter.

　In this way, I built an inn in a terrifying amount of time.

TLN: This chapter was a bit confusing, so let me clear things up. First of all, Ars’ theory of how much magic is needed depends on the “space that the thing created takes up, both inside and outside” is considered to be true, according to Ars. However, Ars kind of thinks about that system like a default system on a website. You see, if you do not know how much you need to use, the space inside of something will also be counted in the creation, if the creation is hollow, such as a building. However, if you know exactly how much space you need inside using magic, then you can think up how much magic you need. 

 

You see, Ars spread out his magic in the original inn to measure everything and to engrave everything into his mind perfectly. In doing so, he found out how much magic was needed to encompass the entire inn. Now, when creating the new inn, he can use that information to determine exactly how much magical power is needed to create the entirety of the inn.

 

Originally, when trying to build a building completely, he only thought about how much magic would be needed for the outside instead of also the inside. That is why when creating the building, the space inside was also accounted for. But after copying the exact ins and outs of the inn into his mind, Ars knows how much magic is needed.
