Chapter 41— Extermination completed

 

"Do your best, Valkyrie!"

"Kui! Kui!"

　In response to my words, Valkyrie's sprinting speed increased further.

　I'm doing my best just to cling to her so that I won't be shaken off, but I manage to check back on the boars chasing us by turning my head backwards.

     The wild boars are running to chase after us with a loud noise.

　Apparently, the first individual that was hit by the shotgun I fired is wanting my head.

　He doesn't mean to forgive me for attacking him.

　They've been chasing after Valkyrie and I almost got a  feeling that they wouldn't ever leave.

　The size of their bodies are unusually large, so it is a lot of pressure for those who are chased.

"It's exactly what we're aiming for. Now, jump, Valkyrie!"

　However, this stampede-chase was an event that I had expected.

   Valkyrie shouted as she ran at a tremendous speed.

　Valkyrie used [Body Strengthening].

　I could see the big, wild boars dying at the bottom of the crack while bleeding from their heads.

　The one I attacked and its kin are dead.

　It's a pity, but it can't be helped.

"Okay, let's go home, Valkyrie."

　This was the end of my first battle.

"Well, did you really defeat the wild boar? I can't believe it."

"Hey, Ars. As expected of my younger brother."

　When I returned and reported the extermination of the wild boar to Maddock and my niisan, they were both surprised.

　In fact, Maddock-san didn't expect me to get rid of them all by myself.

　I heard later that he was trying to find a way to get me back into the forest.

"There are other wild boars that are ruining the fields. If they come out again, I'll ask you to come back out to exterminate them."

　What are you talking about, shitty big brother.

　I don't want to make such a big hole every time a raid happens and do a long jump while being chased by wild boars.

　I thought it was over, but it wasn't over at all.
