Eli woke up at 7:00 am. This time, he had no weird dream, and he slept like a baby through the night.

Usually, Eli was rather cranky and tired in the morning. Now, however, he felt less so, almost feeling refreshed even.

He couldn't help but ask himself, "Is this also an effect of just a single point in Vitality? Wow. I wonder what would happen once I have another 19 points in it."

Since Eli felt better this morning, he was also more motivated. After doing his usual morning ritual, he had a bit of spare time, so he watched the news for a bit.

On the television, a reporter was giving the morning news, "...And that concludes the story about Ms. Anderson's dog rescue. Up next is a report about the murder of a 20-years-old female college student named Molly Guidry, whose badly mutilated body was found in an abandoned building in Lafayette. Police are still investigating for possible leads about the murderer and his whereabouts..."

Eli couldn't help but comment, "Fucking murderers. Don't they have anything better to do? Like not making the lives of the rest of us more miserable?"

After 5 more minutes, Eli left the house, greeted by a drizzle. Just on cue, Chloe also exited her house at the same time.

She smiled at him and said jokingly, "Hey there, Mr. Squarepants. You read to go?"

Eli rolled his eyes, "Oh haha, very funny. Let's go."

They both walked to the streetcar stop. As they walked, Chloe looked at Eli from time to time with appraising eyes.

Eli took notice of that and asked, "What? Something on my face?"

Chloe shook her head, "No, it's nothing. It's just that, for some reason, you look a bit better today. Did you do something to your hair? Put on some cosmetic cream, perhaps?"

Eli was a little startled, "She actually noticed it! Play it cool, Eli..."

He said, a bit flustered, "Y-Yeah, I recently tried using a saltwater treatment on my face for my acne. It did wonders."

Chloe took a closer and more careful look at his face. She noticed the change. Yesterday, Eli had a decent amount of acne on his face that was hidden by his beard. Now, however, she noticed that the acne seemed to be fainter. Even his skin seemed a bit smoother.

She got excited as she said, "That's awesome, Eli! Maybe I should recommend it to my friend. She was troubled with her acne problems for months now."

Eli sighed in relief, "Good job, Eli, you managed to lie your way out of this one. For now, at least."

Just like yesterday, nothing major happened along the way, as he safely arrived at the factory. In the changing room, Eli met Mogensha. Unlike Chloe, Mogensha didn't seem to have noticed any obvious changes, or perhaps he did but just selectively ignored it. In either case, Eli was glad that he didn't have to lie again.

After he and Mogensha started the boiling machine, Eli suddenly said, "Mogensha, I would like to man the boilers alone today."

Mogensha shrugged, "Alright, it's your call. When I'm gone, you would need to do this by yourself in any case, so It should be good practice for you. I will be here in case you need an extra pair of hands."

And so, Eli went through another grueling day. However, unlike yesterday, Eli did most of the work, while Mogensha helped on the side. Even with his now increased vitality and fitness, he still felt just as tired as yesterday.

After they finished working, Mogensha patted Eli's shoulder, "Good job today, Eli. I guess I can safely pass on the torch to you."

Eli smiled tiredly and half-joked, "Thanks, not good as you, though."

Mogensha said snappily, "Stop that bootlicking! You ain't getting anything out of me!"

After they both changed their clothes and exited the factory, they saw a young Creole man waiting at the entrance. The man was in his early twenties, 1.85m tall, muscular, and broad-shouldered. He had some of the facial features Mogensha had, a much lighter but still brownish skin tone, brown and curly short hair, and from how the man stared warmly at Mogensha with his brown eyes, Eli deduced that they were close relatives.

The man waved to Mogensha, "Grandpa! I came to pick you up!"

Mogensha smiled broadly and replied, "Be right there! I have someone I would like to introduce you to."

Mogensha turned to Eli and said, "Eli, come. Let me introduce you to my grandson."

Eli was not in a hurry to leave and thought it would be impolite to leave abruptly, so he agreed and followed Mogensha. Soon they arrived next to the young man, who now stared at Eli curiously.

Mogensha introduced them, "Eli, this is Hector, my grandson. Hector, this is Eli, my coworker, and successor of my position in the factory. You are both about the same age, so I hope you get along."

Hector smiled broadly and reached out to shake Eli's hand, "Nice to meet you, Eli. I'm Hector."

Eli shook his hand with a smile and replied, "Hello Hector, nice to meet you too."

The three then chatted for a bit before Eli and Hector exchanged contacts with each other. Hector also gave some parting words, "If you ever want to learn how to fight, come to Nola MMA. I'm a trainer there, and I would give you a 50% off."

After this small episode, Eli didn't immediately go back to his apartment but went to buy some new gym clothes and underwear. He also bought an electronic weight and a measuring tape to measure his height and weight.

By the time he got home, it was already 8:30 pm. After taking a quick shower, Eli started to take measures of his body. The results were that he now weighed 182lb, and his height was 1.705m. He wasn't sure about the accuracy of these measurements, so he planned on comparing them to his measurements after completing the daily quest again.

Eli contemplated, "I see... So the difficulty would increase the better my physical fitness is? Makes sense, I guess."

Unlike yesterday, it started raining outside, so he couldn't run in the city. He was forced to do his sport right at the entrance of his house. The entrance was only 40m long, so he had to do about 31 repetitions of to and fro for walking and running each.

As he was running, Chloe and 3 other neighbors heard the continuous footsteps outside, so they checked it out. When they saw that Eli was running, all 4 of them had different reactions.

Chloe cheered him on while saying, "Good luck!" and then closed the door.

The second neighbor, a nice, muscular guy named Edmond, gave him a high five while saying, "Keep up the good work!".

The third neighbor, a middle-aged lady of average looks that he did not learn the name of yet, just looked at him in indifference before closing the door.

The fourth neighbor, a deadbeat that looked like a creepy stick with the given name Dick, pulled out his phone and took a video of Eli as he ran while laughing like a retard. Eli was honestly tempted to punch the asshole right then and there, but he endured it. He was a civilized man. He only cursed him out loud between gasps while giving him the middle finger, "Fuck you, Dick!"

After Eli finished his running, he took his sweaty self and finished the rest of the exercises. He then received a familiar prompt.

[Today's training is complete. Would you like to redeem the reward now? Yes/No?]

"Yes."

He then received the same reward as yesterday. Two potions. One was a purplish-black potion that tasted like grapes, and the other a red potion that tasted like strawberries.

Eli decided to drink the disgusting one first, the tonic. The main reason was that he didn't want to leave a bad taste in his mouth.

He took the bottle and opened it up, and it let out the disgusting grape juice smell that he hated. Cringing, he steeled his resolve and drank it. Immediately. After finishing the bottle, just like yesterday, he felt a pleasant sensation wash over him. It was pleasant enough that he felt that enduring the bad taste was worth it, but he did feel like it was kind of masochistic, however.

After the tonic finished its work, he took the vitality supplement and drank it as well. After it washed away the bad taste of grapes with strawberry flavor, he immediately felt that his body was being stretched and in pain. The pain was a bit less intense than yesterday, though.

After the transformation finished, just like yesterday, he felt his stomach gurgle. He immediately ran to the bathroom, and after painful minutes, came out of the stinky bathroom. However, Eli did notice something different.

"Is it just me, or was the amount I let out less than yesterday? I felt like I only let out two-thirds. Maybe I have fewer impurities now, so that was why. Also, I seem to have more of that strange energy in me..."

He then paused before he went to measure himself again. The result of last time was 182lb and 1.705m. This time, however, it was 179lb and 1.71m. That means he grew 0.5cm and lost 3lb. Although the weight loss was inaccurate as he sweated a lot and took a dump, it still signified that he lost weight.

At this result, Eli couldn't help but widen his eyes, "Am I really growing taller?! I am also losing weight?! This is fantastic! Hm... If my calculations are correct... I should be 1.8m tall when Vitality hits 20 points! Also, I would slim down to the weight of an athlete. Sweet!"

He imagined himself, tall and ripped, being the secret envy of guys and a chick magnet. He had an inferiority complex about his height, as his father and all his friends were taller than him. His weight also bothered him in his daily life. Now, he was offered a shortcut to becoming thin and a normally impossible option to become taller. Who was he to reject this offer?

After a few minutes of fantasizing, he felt his sweat bothering him, so he went to have a shower. After the shower and eating a late dinner, he checked his system.

Eli smiled, "Sweet, I was right! I really did get a lot of points this time. Let's increase Time Stipend to 10 seconds before focusing on precognition. I really was starting to wonder what it does."

Eli went ahead and placed 5 points in Time Stipend. Changing it from this:

[Time Stipend: Current regen: 5 sec/day. Current max capacity: 5 min. Upgrading it would increase time regen by 1 second and max time capacity by 1 minute. (0/1)]

To this:

[Time Stipend: Current regen: 10 sec/day. Current max capacity: 10 min. Time factor: 2. Upgrading it would increase time regen by 1 second and max time capacity by 1 minute. (0/2)]

Eli blinked and then uttered, "Eh... Something changed there. Time factor? What's that? Also, the price just doubled itself. I guess this is why Saturn wanted me to only raise it to 10 seconds for now. Hm... Oh well. I wonder what is that precognition thing now."

He then checked it, and...

Precognition: Affects the soul, enabling it to tap the river of time, allowing the foreknowledge of future events, as well as increasing the accuracy of pure guesses and danger-sensing. This allows the user to possibly change his own, as well as others' fate. It is completely undetectable and passive. Skill grade: EX.

"Whistle~* this really is a good skill. It's like a better version of spiderman's danger sense. No wonder Saturn wanted me to upgrade this skill. Hm... But what is that grade thing?"

Eli tried to focus on it, and it showed a description.

Skill grade: All skills have grades that determine their general potential. Grades run from G,F,E,D,C,B,A,S,SS,SSS,EX, with G as the lowest, and EX as the highest. The cost of skills increases along with their grade.

Although Eli didn't really understand the ramifications of having an EX-grade skill, he could tell it is a powerful skill.

He shrugged. "Oh well, no need to dwell on it. Let's start putting in points."

Eli then inserted 7 points in precognition. Each time he put a point in it, he had a feeling that something changed in him, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

He frowned as he thought aloud, "This is a strange feeling. I can't really describe it in words... It's just plain weird. Maybe I would sense it once it's created..."

He then thought, "That reminds me, I didn't check my status thoroughly yet. Let's check things from the beginning."

He then started checking his status one by one.

Name - The given or self-created name of a creature.

Eli rolled his eyes, "No shit sherlock. Let's see about my name... Nothing. I guess it wouldn't give me a biography about myself. Let's check race next."

Race: The race of a creature. All races have grades that signify the general potential of their own race. Grades run from K, J, I, H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, EX, with K being the lowest and EX being the highest. To be considered as a lvl 0 creature, a creature's race must be at least H in grade. The higher the creature's grade, the more costly it is to evolve.

Eli raised his eyebrow, "Ok... That doesn't tell me much. Maybe the human race can tell me anything?"

Race: Human: One of the most generic and civilized humanoid creatures in the multiverse. They are average in all aspects and are considered as the most versatile humanoid race. Unlike other demi-human races, humans have 1 extra unique skill slot instead of racial skills or magical attunements. Race grade: G, Racial skills: None, Natural Attunements: None, Available unique skill slots: 3, Base Point value: 1 point.

Eli scratched his beard, "Hah... So, humans are generic and versatile? Jack of all trades, master of none? Well, at least they have the freedom of choice, I guess. It says that Humans are grade G... I don't have anything to reference it to, though... So, from what I understand, humans have 3 unique skill slots instead of 2. From what I saw, 1 or 2 of my unique skills slots are taken since I don't know if Time Stipend counts. Now, all that is left is that Base points Value thing. What the hell does that mean?"

After focusing on it, he got a description...

Base Point value: The base amount of points an adult unevolved lvl 0 creature of this race would give upon death, provided that all the points are funneled perfectly.

"Oh... So that's how many points you would get from killing a human... Wait, WHAT?! So little?! Just today, I got 12 points, and that's like 12 human lives! Doesn't that mean that I would normally need to kill 100 people to reach lvl 1?!"

Eli lost his shit there for a moment until he calmed down again and reasoned, "Yeah, actually, makes sense. I killed like 12 thousand crabs today, and each one of them is worth 0.001 points. I guess that it would be normally impossible. Saturn did say something about that."

After reasoning that out, he checked the gender.

Gender: Denotes to the gender of a creature, usually either male or female. In some rare cases, there are other gender groups.

Eli shrugged, "Meh, just about what you would get from looking it up on google. What about the male gender, then?

Gender: Male: A creature with male genitalia. Able to seed females of compatible races and unable to give birth.

"Welp, that was expected. Yawn~* I'm tired. I guess that is enough for today. I'll get some shut-eye now."

Eli then went to sleep.

Sorry for the late release. I had homework to do, and I was thinking about how to integrate the whole system.

So yeah, I decided to cap the number of unique skills you can have, while racial skills are bound to the race itself. Some elite races might have a higher unique skill cap.
