Eli moved the table and chair to the side, clearing up an area for him to perform the summoning. After he was done, he then asked, "Is this good enough?"

Asmodeus answered with her ethereal and otherworldly female voice, {Yes. Now, do the chant I taught you, and the system will recognize it.}

Eli took a deep breath to calm his nerves and then started to recite in a strange language, almost biting his tongue more than once, "₳₴₥ุĐɆɄ₴ ₱Ɽł₦₵Ɇ₱₴ ₥₳₲₦Ʉ₴ ₵ุ₦₵Ʉ₱ł₴₵Ɇ₦₮ł₳Ɇ Vุ₵Ɇ₥ ₥Ɇ₳₥. ₱Ⱡ₳₵Ɇ₮ ₳₵₵ł₱ɆⱤɆ ₴₳₵Ɽł₣ł₵łɄ₥, Ɇ₮ ⱤɆĐł₮Ʉ₴: Đ₳₮Ɇ ₥łⱧł ₳₦ł₥₳₥ ₥Ɇ₳₥ ₦ุ₮₳, ₮Ɇ₦Ɇ₮ɄⱤ."

Somehow, through some miracle, he actually managed to finish this entire daunting spell flawlessly. When he finished the spell, he felt that half of his current mana being drained. After the mana finished getting drained, a prompt sounded in his head.

[You have initiated a familiar contract through the great prince of Lust, Ⱥsm๘đɇᵾs. The sacrifice has already been paid. Ⱥsm๘đɇᵾs has selected a newborn Grey demon as your familiar. As the summoner, you can issue commands on the familiar, and you will have full control over its point allocation. The summoning price is 0.01 points. Once the familiar is soul-bound to you, the contract will permanently occupy one of your unique skill slots until the contract is broken. Do you accept? Yes/No?]

Naturally, Eli accepted. Immediately after, a small flash of light shone in front of him before receding.

[Congradulations on forming a familiar contract with Grey demon(Nameless). Treat it well.]

[You have gained the unique skill Familiar Contract - Summoner (Rank G)]

Along with this prompt, he suddenly felt like he was connected to something. He felt a sense of intimacy, like what you would feel to your longtime pet dog or cat. He immediately knew that it was his familiar. Looking in front of him, he saw a small grey ball the size of half a toe. As it was really too small, he couldn't really see any other details, so he couldn't help but crouch down and look at it.

The grey ball could be basically described as a 3d figure of a grey Pacman with yellow eyes. Its skin was glossy and smooth, and no flaw could be spotted on it. If he didn't know better, he would have mistaken it for a miniature toy.

Hungry.

Suddenly, an androgynous and immature voice... A primitive thought sounded in his head. Eli instinctively understood that it was the Grey ball that spoke to him.

Glancing at the grey ball, he couldn't help but ask, "You are hungry?"

Yes. Hungry. Food.

It was apparent that the grey ball, the Grey demon, understood him too somehow. Also, it was hungry. At the same time, he himself also felt hungry. Perhaps he was affected by his familiar, or perhaps it was his need to regenerate his lost mana, or maybe both.

"Either way, let's get both of us something to eat... By the way, what do Grey demons eat?"

{Their kin.} - Asmodeus answered his query.

"Their kin?! They're cannibalistic? Like baby sharks or tadpoles?"

{Exactly. However, they can also eat other things such as meat or vegetables. A cooked egg would do the trick.}

"I see... Oh well. I'll cook some eggs, I guess."

Eli picked up the little grey and hungry ball. There was no resistance or fear. It just curiously looked at him like an innocent baby. After placing it on the table, he couldn't help but ask, "Are all grey demons like that?"

{No. It simply doesn't sense you as a threat. If it did, it would either try to run, fight, or freeze, as its base instincts dictate.}

"And why doesn't it see me as a threat?"

{For two reasons. One, it is a newborn. It is like a young child not afraid of the big bad wolf. Second, it is contracted to you. The sense of intimacy you feel towards it is a two-way street.}

"Makes sense."

After he cooked an egg thoroughly, making sure that the yolk was also cooked, he let it cool down a bit before placing it on the table. The little grey demon looked at it and seemed to hesitate a bit.

This. Food?

It was understandable that it didn't realize it was food. It wasn't in its instincts to eat eggs. Only it's kin.

Eli smiled and said, "Yes. Its food. Go ahead and eat your fill."

The grey demon took a hesitant bite at the cooked egg.

It then said with a jubilant voice - Tasty.

It then started to eat the egg with relish.

Eli took out one of his sandwiches from his inventory and started eating while looking at the small ball eat the egg over a dozen times larger than itself.

After a bit, however, he got bored and decided to check his status and new skill.

After Eli read through everything, even checking the details of the contract, he nodded to himself. It was just like how Asmodeus told him before. He then asked, "How do I check my familiars status?"

{Focus on it, and think about its system menu.}

"Alright... Got it."

"Eh? Wait, why are the item shop and inventory missing? Oh, right. User privileges... But why is [Quests] missing too?"

{It does not need it. You both count as the same entity now. Point-wise.}

"Makes sense. Oh well, let's check its status."

[Familiar Contract - Familiar(Rank G)]

"Eh... It's pretty different from my status. It's missing every other stat except for vitality. It's genderless, its level is Nil, and it has two racial skills. The familiar contract is understandable, though. I wonder why its vitality progress isn't zero... Oh well, let's check things one at a time."

Grey demon: The weakest creature in the infernal plane of existence. While they are weak and are at the bottom of the food chain, they have immense potential, allowing them to evolve into all types of infernal creatures. Race grade: K. Racial skills: Infernal Creature, Consume. Natural Attunements: None. Available unique skill slots: 1. Base Point value: 0.0001 points.

"I see... So it only has one skill slot, and the skills are also part of its race. Because of the contract, it doesn't have any more skill slots."

Infernal Creature: You are a creature that belongs to the infernal plane of existence. As an infernal creature, you are resistant to the negative effects of infernal energies and can harness them, but at the same time, you are vulnerable to heavenly energies. As a creature that does not belong to the main plane of existence, your existence will be rejected and thus weakened in it. The only exception to this rule is when you are contracted to a summoner from the main plane. Side effect: Slightly more prone to sin and has less guilt. Skill Grade: Nil. Not upgradeable.

"In other words, without the contract, it would be even weaker here?! Christ... Would it even be able to stay alive?"

{Nope. It would die just like a rat immersed in concentrated sulfuric acid. And please don't mention the beautified name of an over-glorified Jewish preacher.}

Eli wanted to retort on the second half of what she said. But then realized he would be arguing with an ancient demonic god of unreasonable power who probably knew more than any other scholar in his world about history, or gods, for that matter.

He couldn't help but ask an age-old question that only a god could probably answer, "Does GOD even exist?"

Asmodeus sounded amused and said derisively, {If you mean the Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnibenevolent GOD in that poorly written fiction book called the Bible that was written and edited by abjectly ignorant and/or self-centric assholes over the span of 1,300 years, then no, he doesn't exist. No god in the entire multiverse fulfills any of those criteria. However, if you mean the Primordial God of order that rules over "Heaven",  IE, the heavenly plane, then yes, he exists. However, he has absolutely no relation to this backwater universe or its creation, and he is certainly not a benevolent being.}

Eli wanted to ask more but then decided against it.  He had enough brainfuckery for one day. He then checked the last skill with the ominous name...

Consume Kin: When the user eats any food, it will convert into stat growth until it is capped. Efficiency is maxed when eating same-race members. Efficiency is only at 1% when eating other foods. Possessors of this skill are unable to use refining. Skill Grade: Nil. Not upgradeable.

"Hah... That explains the vitality growth, I guess. Still, this skill is literally screaming Siblicide and Cannibalism. Are all demons like that? Will It stay like this forever? I have second thoughts on keeping it if that's the case."

He cast a glance at the hungry grey ball munching on the egg, now already a third finished, wondering how the hell did it fit everything inside its small body.

{Just grey demons and a few other types of basic demons have it. It will be removed once it mutates once or twice.}

"Alright, I will take your word for it. So... From the looks of things, it would be stuck as a grey demon until it eats about thirty eggs, hah?"

{Correct.}

"Alright, fair enough. Do you have any advice?"

{Yes. I suggest you use this time to bond with it. Currently, because it is an infant, it is the easiest time to bond with your familiar. Use this time to your advantage to raise your familiar contract grade. Also, how many seconds can Time Stipend generate now?}

Eli answered unconsciously, "36... Wait a minute... How do you know about it? I didn't tell you about it yet, did I?"

He had a look with squinted eyes, suspicion oozing out of him. No way Saturn would reveal his trump card so easily.

Asmodeus calmly replied, {I told you before that I have a complicated relationship with Saturn. Ask him at your leisure when he wakes up. Besides, if I had any ill will towards you, I would have turned you into a crazy naked streaker and get you to jump into the middle of the highway.}

When he heard that, he paled and asked in fear, "W-Wait a minute... You can control me?"

{Yep, and just about every other living being on your immature planet if I so wished. I can basically create a global sex orgy on a whim. All it would take is just a small Lust inducement spell. Want me to prove it to you?}

His precognition screamed that, as long as he said yes, she would actually do it. He then said with cold sweat dripping on his forehead, "N-No, there is no need for that... So, can I have that advice again?"

{Ah, yes... My advice is to start looking for an alternative source of points. The amount you are earning right now from killing crabs is drearily small in comparison to your needs.}

Eli had a strange look, "Small? I get 72 points per week! That's like 72 human lives per week. I would only need less than two months to raise Time Stipend to 60 seconds. I don't see why I should change such a cozy source of points."

{For a simple reason. It won't take you two months to wake up Saturn. It would take you over three years, at least at your current rate.}

"...What? What do you mean?"

{When you reach 59 seconds, there would be a bottleneck. It would require 10,000 points to reach 60 seconds.}

"... Ok, fuck. That's a good reason, alright..."

This revelation threw a wrench in his plans. At first, he wanted to work and accumulate points at a leisurely pace. Now, however, he had to consider things a bit more. Unless he wanted to wait for a whole three years until he could wake up Saturn, that is.

{And this concludes my free advice. For the rest, you will need to think by yourself. We will speak another time. Good night, Eli.}

"Good night."

And with that, Asmodeus went silent.

Eli started to contemplate Asmudeos's words and what he could do to improve his point gathering ability. He considered himself lucky that she was willing to give him free advice.

He started to contemplate for a bit on what could garner him the most points.

"Killing a crab gives me an average of 0.001 points. A human gives me around 1 point. Obviously, I can get so many points in the factory because of mass killing. As for killing humans, while I can technically do it, It is immoral and wrong. Wait... While it probably isn't the only factor, size has a big role in the number of points I can get, right? How many points will a fully grown cow give me? If it is 1 or 2 points, I might consider working in a slaughterhouse..."

As he was contemplating it, he suddenly heard the voice of his familiar in his head.

Full. Sleepy...

Looking at the plate, where a whole egg was previously, it was now gone. In its stead was a slightly bigger grey ball. Still, it was far smaller than the egg it ate. This sight stunned him.

"... wow... That's one hungry grey ball, alright..."

He checked its status...

He nodded to himself, "Yeah, it would take another thirty eggs for it to grow to its maximum size, alright."

Turning his gaze back at the sleepy glutton, he frowned a bit, "If I lived alone, it wouldn't be a problem to leave it outside. Because Trinity can come in at any time, however, I need to hide it. I believe I can un-summon it into my so-called inner realm, right?"

He focused on the tiny familiar and tried to think Un-summon.

With a flash of light, the familiar disappeared. He knew that it was safe, however, as he sensed its existence inside his head. He felt that, with just a single thought, he may summon it again.

Yawning, he said to himself, "Alright, I have work tomorrow, let's go to sleep."

He put 16 points into Time Stipend, raising it from 36 seconds to 38 seconds, and went to sleep.
