“How could you Nick?” Nat scolded Fury, furious beyond belief at her benefactor action

“You of all people should understand that his was necessary”

“I know but…”

“I’m sorry” Fury said gently

 

“It turns out better then I expected” Tony grin stupidly beside me

“You like this sort of stuff?” I asked Tony

“No” Tony smacks his lips “But seeing THE SPY apologized?” Tony laugh “I love it”

Sharon shakes her head “Is he always like this?” Sharon asks

“Pretty much, yeah” said Steve

 

“Let’s get straight to the point” Fury said, after recovering from Nat mighty slap “We need to stop the launch”

Maria Hill then takes out a holo-projector “This is the PROJECT INSIGHT” Files about project INSIGHT are displayed right in front of us “HYDRA was going to use this for their whole endgame. To eliminate their potential threat using Zola Algorithm”

“But” Tony interjects “Thanks to Surr quick thinking of using JARVIS, I – well, me and JARVIS manages to reverse that algorithm” He then projected a list of known HYDRA agents, target, base of operations, etc “We use this to our advantages”

“That’s right” Fury affirm “We need to somehow notify the loyal SHIELD agents. Rally them up to fight with us”

I nodded but then I notice Steve expression “What’s wrong Cap?”

 

Steve looked at me, smiling wryly “Is this the right thing to do? SHIELD has been standing for how many long but they grew right under our noses” He slammed the table “We need to get rid of it. SHIELD, HYDRA, everything goes” he voiced his opinion, silencing most of all in the room.

 

“No” I said “No, we cannot destroy everything”

“Surr?” everybody looked at me weirdly.

 

“I know it’s not my place to say, I’m only been here for a couple of months anyway. But, secret organization like SHIELD? The world needs it” I looked at Steve “Look, if Nick didn’t find me, I could end up differently. The same goes for most people SHIELD saved. Although HYDRA managed to infiltrate SHIELD, SHIELD purpose, the one that Ms. Peggy Carter envisioned back then” I paused for a second “It still lives until today” I stare at Steve intensely

 

Steve looks down, pondering for a bit before I continued “What we need to do is to rebuild. Takes in what works and build it into something new, something better than SHIELD as it is”

 

“Alright, enough of this depressing shit” Tony quipped “I understand your frustration Cap, I do but people need to be kept in check. SHIELD has been doing a very good job so far protecting people like me, like you, like Surr, people who has special abilities and keep them from ambitious bastards like Stern. We need something like SHIELD” Tony patted Steve shoulder “We had the Avengers, yes. But do you really think the Avengers is enough Cap?”

 

Wow, I expect someone to agree with me, but not Tony

 

“Just… let me think about this” Steve said, heavily

“Right, now we need a plan to stop the launch of the Helicarriers” Maria Hill said, she opened a suitcase, revealing 3 chipset “We’ll use this”

 

“What’s that?” Sam asked

“Our very own targeting blades. We need to breach those helicarriers and replace them with our own”

“If that doesn’t work?” Tony asks

“Then, we’ll destroy them to kingdom come”

 

Hidden Base, Armory

 

I look at myself in the mirror before turning around, watching Sharon suit up into her SHIELD agent suit

 

“Looking good”

“Hush” Sharon smirk “You’re going just like that?” She looked at me funny

“T-shirt and jeans? Why not? I don’t have uniform like you do” I shrug my shoulder

“You do realize we’re at SHIELD armory, right? You can take what you need here”

“Nah, no thanks” I said, leaving Sharon to her business

“Suit yourself. Wait, your staff. Does it need to recharge?”

“Place it under the sun for 30 minutes and pray to the sun god”

“Seriously?” Sharon’s eyebrow raised

“No”

 

I walk around the base, curious of what SHIELD hidden facilities was like. I see Black Widow together with Maria Hill and Nick Fury, talking about something. I walk further ahead, approaching the exit and I found two suit of armor, talking to each other

 

“Yo” I waved at them

Rodhey and Tony looked at my direction, opening the lid on their face “Hey” they greeted me back

“Ready to cause havoc?” Rodhey said to me

“Thanks, by the way”

“What for? That’s what friends are for” Tony said

“That is so corny” Rodhey said

“Hahaha. Hey Tony, can we talk for a sec?” I ask Tony

“Sure, I’ll just get coffee somewhere” Rhodey said, before leaving us alone

 

“What’s up?”

“About your parents…” I said, hesitantly

“I know”

“What?”

“I know. I read the files. They use some brainwashed assassin, right? And that supposed assassin is Cap friend”

“Then…”

“I’ll have a talk with him once this is over. Stopping HYDRA is the priority, my business can come after” he said cheerfully but I could see that he clenches his hand tightly

“You want me to come with you?”

“Thanks, but that’s our problem”

“Okay” I left Tony alone

 

I went to the bridge and found Sam Wilson talking to Steve Rogers. I waved at them “Yo”

“Hey Surr” Steve waved back

“I better go prepare” said Sam as he leaves the both of us alone

“Listen, about your friend Bucky…”

“I know”

“What?”

“About Bucky and Stark. I read the files” Steve sigh “My best friend killed my other friend who’s the father of my friend. Complicated, isn’t?” He cracks a smile, a sad one “And my current friend, who’s my roommate, kept secret from me, a lot of them”

“I’m sorry”

“I understand. If I’m in your position, I would’ve done the same” Steve said in understanding “But let me ask you this, after this is over, will you tell me everything?”

I listened as I observe the expression on Cap face “I… Uh… Sure” I didn’t know what to say. Seeing his sincere expression towards me, somehow, I felt guilty hiding things from this guy. I never had any friends before; all this is new to me, guilt about hiding things. Friendship, is this what it’s like? Not wanting to disappoints another? To be opened to someone?

 

Steve patted my shoulders before saying “Come, we’ve got a long day ahead of us” before leaving me alone, pondering.
