As they wandered the dark forest.
They soon saw a young girl wearing a cape with glowing crimson eyes.
(Lit currently applying mana to her eyes to see in the night.)

She was smiling with glee while dancing and hopping as though she had experienced something fantastic.

"Kahahaha, I can't believe it!"

"This is amazing!"

"To think that I can finally do something like this!"

Their eyes shook as they gazed at her in horror.

"Well...
Now that I can summon you guys, I got nothing to fear."

She then yawned...

"It's getting late.
Good night you guys."

"Disband."

The blue light in their eyes faded as fell to the ground like dolls.
Lit thought of what to do with the bones and simply hanged her head in laziness.
She had so many bones that it wouldn't be much of a loss if she left it on the ground for some monsters to chew on.

Her eyes then turned towards the knights whom she had only recently noticed.

"Thanks for the help, Sir.Knights."

They felt a chilling sensation as she gazed at her.
It was dread as they saw a necromancer before them...

"Why are you guys staring at me like that?"

Their expression were grim...
Almost as though she had commited a grave crime, their swords was drawn as it shook.
Lit eyes were glowing crimson as her hood and visage doesn't look like an ordinary girl but a visage of destruction in the dark.

Their own fear's got a hold of them and they began to drew their swords

*Blip* *Blip* The map had showed them as hostile.

(No way...)

They made one foot forward then...

"Bone-"

Their swords were aimed to stab her in two sides but thankfully their distance wasn't close enough.
"WALL!"

A wall rose from the ground and repelled their sword as it was pushed upward but they didn't let go of their swords like true warriors.

As Lit thoughts became chaotic she felt pressured.
(They didn't even hesitate...)  she thought.

They saw her as some evil creature to be slain while young.
As Lit saw the murderous gaze in their eyes she could only grit her teeth.
She was aware... that she didn't have much time to waste.

Lit who fled "Bone Edict!",
One of the horses manifested while multiple bone knight stood and surrounded her.

The two knights had pale expression as they saw a horde of skeletons in front of them.

But they didn't retreat.

"You two are making a big mis-"

A dagger flew as quick like the wind, but one of the bone knights moved forward to guard her.

*Twack!* the dagger became stuck cleanly on the shield.

"understanding..."

She had placed (Defend Command.)

They will now sacrifice themselves to protect her.
Lit was also aware, they will also sacrifice them if necessary.

"Stop, if you continue this!-" but they ignored her words.

One of them charged forward from the side.
While the other pulled out his bow.

"You IMBECILES!" She cried out.

But it was all too late.
Whether it is her who erred or they thought she was evil.
It didn't matter...

They felt fear and horror when they saw her control the bones as like her own minions.
To add to that fear...
Her crimson eyes appeared evil to them...
Despite everything she had done.
Despite all she had shown...

She was betrayed all because they feared the evil that they thought she was...

At the end...
The Bone knights raised their bone swords and shield to protect her from harm.
As they didn't hesitate to protect their master as Lit had adjusted the AI to do.

As the first knight who charged was blocked and was forced to back away.
However, the command defend was not only just for defending.

It was also to create a counter move where an enemy cannot escape.
Lit had no time to edit anything in her commands.

The strategy was to abuse an error of the opponent when they try to aim for her life.

And so... that's what they did.

Without realizing it, the knight who tried to retreat was surrounded.

The Bones Knows No Fear Of Death.

Much more so, are the machine imprinted commands she had placed on them.

As they carried no will of their own.

The knight who tried to back away was cornered by swords in mere seconds as they lunged in for the kill.

*Splatter!*

Lit could only turn her head and close her eyes at the accident unfolding before her...
She didn't want it to happen, yet it did, then she cried out to the last knight.

"Why... why didn't you idiots listen to me!"

"I WARNED YOU!"

"At least tell me why!" she scratched her head in frustration.

Her bone knights that she struggled to obtain.
Now had blood in their hands.

Eventhough she never intended it to happen.

She removed her hood.
Revealing her purple hair a young girl was crying as one of the knights fell to ground as she realized who it was...
It was the blond man who had saved her when during the ogre's assault.

Lit grimaced at such an ending.

Not once, but twice they tried to take her life.
They were reliable guards of Roel and she took one of their lives to protect herself.

(I could have done better...)

(i could have placed them in a cage of bones, instead!) She thought to herself.

But they acted so quickly that there was no room for such creativity.

"Why? why are you suddenly attacking me!"

"Answer me..."

Lit eyes glistened in red as she was now furious

A new command was given out. "Surround."

"This is your final chance!" she shouted.

The dark haired knight glaced at the blond who died with multiple sword wounds from the bone knights.
Then felt overwhelmed by the number of bones that has now surrounded him.

Five bones was around him, while five protected her like skilled minions that would act as a shield for her.

"I cannot heal people." Lit words were somber and cold.

"I can't save him." Her tone grew colder and colder.

"Tell me." she wanted answers. "WHY!"

The dark haired knight then shouted.

"You... Deceiver!"

"How... dare an Evil Child Pretend to be Human!"

"You must be a Lich incarnate trying to fit in human lands!"

(Ah... it was pointless) Lit had these thoughts as she heard him.

Once more he drew his sword as he tried to get close.
Slashing one of the bone sword as it was torn apart in a single swing from his hand.
As he broke through the circle he was in directly aiming for Lit herself.

But...

Aiming for her life however was a pointless act.

Lit gave a command to three of her bone knights.
The three bone knights directly acting under Lit's commands as their action perform a simultanious act as he tried to parry both swords.
But this time their swords didn't break as it merely cracked altogether.

"No matter how strong your sword is..."

"It cannot block the strength and toughness of three."

The command was... "Unified Assault."

An attack where they strike all together.

It was a strategem used in the game.
If an opponent is too strong for her, she utilized a technique where all three minions would strike.
Dealing three folds of the damage plus impact of the attack.

This causes most of her opponents to get knocked back or stagger.

But when the knight realize his desperate action had gone awry.
With deft hands he threw a dagger heading straight towards her.

Once again evasion mode didn't activate.

But the Bone Knight beside her raised it's shield to block it as though it was some kind of petty trick.

"Is see...
I should have known."

Lit knew it was a criminal act to use the undead.
But the magic she had used was a far cry from using the undead.
She was directly in control using a system.

There was no time to talk anymore.
Since he was desperately trying to kill her.

It was best to put an end to the fight before things got any worse.

[Defend] was command that could kill those who approached her.
But [Surround.] was merely a fun command of playing with her opponent during a duel before she finishes them off.

"Bone Sacrifice."

Floating sphere floated as his eyes shook as the knight looked at them.
Lit then commanded she pointed with her finger.

"Attack."

...

...

...

Morning came once more.

The group who had finally awoken...
Saw her with one dead body and one knight who looked as though he was beaten half-dead.

As they saw her...
Lit's eyes were hollow and looked tired.

There was a pile of bones beside her.

"Looks like everyone is finally awake." when she said those words.

Their eyes turned to the dead body and the half-dead knight.

Lit hadn't aimed to kill the dark haired warrior, but instead aimed to crush his limbs.
So he wouldn't have a chance to fight anymore.

[Lock on System] possessed an option to target a certain body part as it would prove crucial when dealing with bosses within the game.

Which is why...
Lit who knew how to use this often aimed for the head.
For a critical strike.

Roel who was the last to wake up, then saw them.

"Orbal! Derek!..."

"But... but how!"

Shock and confusion as he rushed to see his knights in such dire straights.
When he realized one of them had died, he grimaced and gazed at Lit for answer.

"Your two knights tried to kill me last night."

A gasp is heard, as roel expression froze into horor.

"What?"

Lit then showed them her skill.

"Bone Edict."

The pile of bones that dragged their bodies from where she now stood arose.
As gleaming blue light shone in its eyes.

Everyone swallowed their saliva as they stepped back in surprise and fear.

"It doesn't possess a soul...
Nor did it require a life of another to create it.
Magic from my own mana."

Lit's explained as her eyes gazed at Roel.

"Your men saw me as an evil entity calling me some kind of evil existence.
Am I suppose to stand still and let them kill me?"

Roel who saw her explanation became silent her actions were justified. "..."

The half-beaten knight in front of him, his eyes then began to slowly open as he saw his own master. "Young... Master?"
His limbs were broken as Lit ruthlessly crippled him leaving only one leg able and moving.

Lit sighed then said with a pained expression.

"Your knight was the first person I have ever killed in my life."

"I never intended for any of this to happen!"

Lit then stood as she jabbed her staff downward.

(Lit had used [Soul Tap] for the very first time, then utilized [Bend Spirit] to obtain her answer from the dead knight.
She later discovered that the necromancers pillage villages and wanderers with the intent of turning them into tools to extend their research of the undead. They also intrude in graveyards and dig out graves which descrates the graves of famalies of those who had lost their loved ones.)

After lit discovered this facts, she could understand why they would see her as an evil entity.
However, her creations were different.
No... it was vastly more different.

  • Lit had commited no crimes similar to other necromancers.
  • She was completely innocent, yet they deemed her evil.

"I found my answers and all i can say, is I am not familiar with the necromancers that pillages your homes.
I've been with you all for a week or so now... it's ridiculous how even now I am still being doubted."

Lit made deep breaths and exhaled to calm herself.

"Because I learned to control the bones I create, someone had to die for it, ridiculous!" she angrily cried out her frustrations.

Ralph who was gazing at the scene in astonishment then asked.
"How were you able to?"

Lit answered him with honesty.

"You once asked me why I wanted to join the orc battle in Palia.
It was generally for me to train and learn more of my skills.
In a sense, I grew as I took the lives of those monsters..."

"That's... quite unique and strange, don't you think?" Ralph was surprised while others was showing concern.

"While you may not believe me, this is the proof i can show you." Lit said to him.

"It is a unique magic as Sir.Roel had said.
Killing monsters seems to make me remember my past abilities." Lit confessed to him and explained it in a confident manner.

She lied about losing her memories but...
It was the only way for her to hide the level system in place.

But then Roel asked a different.

"If you can truly control them...
why couldn't you stop them from killing one of the guards?"

Lit then gritted her teeth as she heard roel's intelligent question.

"Tell me...
Can you stop spells from being cast once they are unleashed from your hand?"

"That's..." Roel wasn't a sorcerer but even he studied magic and was faintly aware of this fact.

"The answer is clearly like that."

Lit sighed.

"The command I placed into these creation is not only to protect me.
But it's commanded to kill the opponent, that tries to harm me as well.
Be it monster or human, they will retaliate..."

Roel then said. "So... it was an accident."

"That's right..." Lit answered him.

"But your guards had full intention to take my life.
Sorry, Roel but I can no longer accept your offer..."

"That's diff-" Roel then got cut off.

But Lit continued.

"If i see another of your people wearing that armor.
I'd would feel uncomfortable being near them."

The armor which Roel knights had a symbol of a Swords and staff with a shield on top of both with a beautiful intricate design around it.

Lit then clenched her her hand into a fist.

"They tried to take my life three times.
No matter how many times I plead them to stop, they just ignored me."

Lit turned to the bones beside her. "Follow." she said to it.
Then turning to the group.

"I'm tired after a horrible night, so i'm going to rest inside.
Just so none of you make the same mistake.
Let me tell everyone this one fact.

Rest assured that this thing will attack.
However...
If anyone tries to pull something.
This thing won't hesitate to take your life."

The skeletal bones followed her, though it did not carry a weapon.
It's size was as big as a grown man which made them distance themselves from it.
While Lit openly stated her concerns and returned to the carriage like nothing had happened.

As she slept she recalled the knights ghostly figure which she had called forth using [Soul Tap].

...

"Release."

It's eyes that were control took life on it's own as it slowly dissapated...
But instead of rage that would try to attack her, it was a gentle smile of it's ghostly figure.
The word it uttered surprised Lit as half of it's body began to fade.

"I'm sorry, kid." Lit eyes went wide as she began to cry while holding her staff to keep her from falling she kneeled and replied.

"Me too... I'm sorry! *hic*"

"I could have done better!"

"You didn't have to die, if I just..."

Regret filled her chest.

If she had calmed herself or prepared for such an encounter.
So many If's flowed into her head.
But it didn't change the things that had already happened.

Lit became aware that those she controlled using [Bend Spirit] was keenly aware of what they had said and done.

She also became aware that their belief on the necromancers was and were definitely justified.
Lit who knew only little of their evil deeds could only accept and understand the ripples of cause and effect.
The knights carried grudges as they were once victims of the onslaught of such necromancers who sought the power of the undead.

A holy order once aided them in the quest to quell the problem in their territory as the soul of the dead knight explained to her.

They had brought pestilence and destruction across the lands and now live in the north of the empire.
Where they keep themselves hidden while lurking in the darkness of those lands.

And so...
as Lit tear's fell as she slept trying to grasp what had occured that day.

Their journey continued...
Whilst Lit understanding of the world increased grew...
As did her wariness towards the people around her rose.
