7 years later

"Miss? Miss wake up"

"Yeah... give me a few minutes"

"I already gave you 10 minutes miss, wake up!"

"..."

*Swish*

*Swish*

"Nooo Sara give me back my blanket.. alright, alright I'm up" I sighed

"Miss, you cant be late today. Today's the Introduction" my maid warned before going over to my closet to pick out a dress

Right. Introduction day. The day I dreaded for 7 years, the day I meet the Crown Prince- the first male lead. The Introduction is actually the day my magic get revealed and also the day when I get eligible for engagement.

This happens every once in a month every time a child reaches the age of 7, but its not usually this grand. Nobles who have enough money usually host parties in honour of their children's Introduction. But today is way more important because the Duke's daughter and the Crown Prince are having their Introduction on the same day.

So the original villainess met him earlier but since I tried to delay it as much as possible, I'm meeting him right now.

I walked to the washroom and freshened up before walking out and seeing the nightmare Sara was holding. A bright pink dress with few rubies stuck here and there randomly

"Sara, what is that?!" I almost yelled

"Oh this? Something that made me question your dad's tastes in clothing" she said look with equal disgust towards the cloth

"Phew. I thought you had gone blind or something" I sighed in relief, I thought she had picked that hideous thing for me to wear today.

I walked down the long halls and went downstairs to eat breakfast. I finally pushed open the huge doors leading to the huge hall. Light flooded into hall from huge windows around it, there was a long table that could seat at least 20 people in the middle of it. And now, about half of it was filled with all kinds of food.

"Yum" Everything on the table looked absolutely delicious as it did every single morning

"Sweetie!"

"Dearie!"

Both my parents rushed at me to engulf me in a huge bear hug that almost choked me "Yeah. Good morning to you too"

"Come on! Let's go eat!" my father said, skipping away to the table like an excited 3-year-old

"He's really excited to see his friend after a very long time, sweetie" mom said, ruffling my hair and grabbing my hand to lead me to the table

"And he really doesn't hide it" I mumbled

My mother chuckled. "He's seeing the King in a long time you know"

Yup. My father is the King's close friend. Back then, because my father was the Duke's only son and him the Crown Prince, they saw each other a lot so they quickly became close friends. Then one day my dad met mom and after they were engaged; my mom introduced her friend to the King and then they got engaged...

So basically, the Queen's my mom's friend. And I can tell my mom's happy too to meet her friend... just isn't making it so obvious as my dad.

But.

These pancakes are the best. No lie.

.

A few hours later

.

"No!"

"What about these?"

"Definitely not!"

"Krystal you have to wear something there" argued Sara

"And I will but that something will not be.... that" I pointed to the pile of extravagant, unhealthily bright frocks that all had one thing in common.

Lack of good design.

And to think these are the 'best' in the kingdom. If these are the best the worst must be a curse.

I walked over to the closet to check if I had at least one decent dress. I searched and searched... to the end of the world- I mean the closet, then suddenly-

I saw a light, a shimmer... hope at the end of the dark tunnel- I mean I found a pretty nice looking frock that was better than all of the frocks in the pile on the bed

It was a deep purple so it matched with my eyes, and that frock had the right amount of frills in the right places it also had a sapphire sewed in the middle of the collar. But the strange thing is that I don't remember it being in my closet-

"I'll wear this"

"Wow. Now that is the first thing I liked that came out of that closet" exclaimed Sara looking at the purple dress like it was cleansing her eyes after those... hideous pieces of cloth she saw.

hideous pieces of cloth she saw

I mean- in a way it was.

"I know right"

After I had a long, warm bath that I never got in my last life, I put on that dress and looked over to the makeup table...

...and ran

Cut that, I mean- tried

Sara picked me up and put me infront of the table before I could get out of the room.

"Sara I tell you, this is going to make me look absolutely horrible" I protested

I've seen few women in carriages and I wish I could unsee what I saw; Dark pink circles on their cheeks, too pale foundation, their whole eyelids looking like a 5-year-old coloured it-

Basically, they didn't look human

So no thanks, I'll pass

"Miss, I promise you won't look anything like that"

But I didn't feel comforted, if anything I felt more scared

"Calm~ down" she chanted

Finally, what felt like years, Sara let me open my eyes and what I saw blew my mind- in a good way, thankfully.

Putting it simply- I didn't look anything like those women in the carriage. I look almost like an angel and I'm not kidding. I actually looked awesome.

I looked over to the clock-

6:45

Shit. When am I not late for anything?

I rushed downstairs to be met with 2 more angels that were my mom and dad.

"You look beautiful, sweetie" my mom smiled.

She wore an off-shoulder, light blue gown which showed off her eyes and highlighted he hair in the prettiest way. And she wore a clip with a red stone in it, not the best combination but it strangely went well together.

Now, if it was the normal me I would reply something like, "I know, thanks" but since I'm a noble now and I have to answer elegantly- "You too mom!"

"My princess looks absolutely stunning!" my father shrieked picking me off the ground and twirling me around before putting me down

He wore a dark black suit with only the tie being a deep, shiny purple. Almost like he was going to a funeral or something.

I just giggled in response.

"Are you going to steal something in the palace?" my mother suddenly questioned

"When did I ever-?

"Your outfit I mean"

"It has purple in it!"

"Sure," she said picking me from my father "Let's go now, shall we?

Much to my and the carriage driver's dismay, my mom and dad continued their argument about my dad's clothes all the way to the palace.

"You almost wore funeral clothes to our wedding if I didn't stop you then!" my mom said furiously

"But I didnt wear them did I?!"

"But you were about to!"

"But I didnt!"

"But you were about to! And thats the end!"

"Humph"

"Humph"

"..."

"..."

"But you were about to...."

"Krystal!"

"Krystal!"

"I thought you were on my side!" my father protested

"I never to you so-"

"But how can you do-"

My father probably wanted to protest a bit more but he was cut off by the driver. Thankfully.

I took one look at whatever was in front of me and it blew my mind. When I tell you that the whole palace looked very, very fragile and delicate, trust me, it really was. I could sense that each, tiny carving was done with as much care and precaution as the big ones. The soft moss creeping up from the bottom of the palace indicated how ancient this place was.

Almost giving me the creeps for some reason.

My family slowly got into the palace, and I saw an excited glimmer in both my parents' eyes like never before

My family slowly got into the palace, and I saw an excited glimmer in both my parents' eyes like never before. They didn't even pay any attention to the amazing interior carvings and decoration as if they deserved little to no attention.

We soon entered the huge ballroom.

I was absolutely astounded at the number of people in that place and how huge it was but my parents quickly went towards the King and Queen to say their greetings

I was absolutely astounded at the number of people in that place and how huge it was but my parents quickly went towards the King and Queen to say their greetings. Sadly, I had to leave the last piece of the limited caramel cake and greet my parents' oh-so-precious friends (my cake..........(;′⌒') )

"Wishing everlasting glory and Honour to the Royal Family," we all said in unison

With a smile, the Queen took my mom away and not a minute later I heard a high pitched squeal and lots of laughter from the other side of the room.

"She never once smiled like that in front of me," the King said sounding hurt

"Neither did she in front of me," my father said wearing the exact same hurt look on his face too as he looked at the two women talking

"It's my wife! How dare y-"

"I was talking about my wife," my dad said with an eye roll

"Ah"

And off they both went with arms on each other's shoulders talking indiscernibly about a lot of things that I couldn't even care to try and listen. Anyway. I could feel the food calling to me.

So I went too.

You all must be thinking that I ran to the nearest food table and filled my plate with all the sweets and food I could get my hands on but no. I was a noble lady. So I had to take one at a time and eat slowly and carefully.

I had a reputation to maintain.

That supposing I have a reputation-

After eating exactly 1 red velvet cake, 1 chocolate brownie, 1 piece of lasagna, 4 sweets I decided it was time to take a walk, as I was feeling quite suffocated in a place filled with people.

I went out of the ballroom and kept wandering around until I found a small exit that led me to the most prettiest garden to ever exist.

Nothing very special. But something was quite magical about this whole place. There was just something about the rhythmic way the trees swayed as if dancing to music only they could hear. And the stone pathway in the middle that led deep inside the place adorned with a tranquil silence...

"HOW DARE YOU EVEN LAY YOUR FILTHY FINGERS ON US!"

Ok nevermind, someone just ruined the 'tranquil' silence.
