“No dreams today,” Ella yawned.

She stood up and stretched. She fixed her bed before walking around the house. Good, nothing amiss.

She took the blanket that were on top of the desk and took a bath. After bathing, she went back to her room and wore the hanged clothes by the window.

Ella took the chainmail from the stand and looked at it.

“I should buy a new one.” She donned it and fastened the sheathed sword on her waist, the quiver on her back, and the short bow inside its bag on the other waist

She took the bag on the dinner table and went outside. It is still dark. Ella locked the door.

“Alright then.” Ella walked towards the village center.

… … …

Upon reaching the village center, Ella saw four people standing together near the fountain. The captain and Greta were talking with two other people, the priest and the priestess.

Ella approached them, “Hello there.”

“Ah, you’ve arrived,” the captain replied.

The priestess walked forward, “We wanted to thank you in person.”

She bowed slightly.

“Is that so. Don't mention it,” Ella replied.

The priestess smiled at her. "It seems you have found a purpose."

Ella was startled, "Uh, can I ask what you mean?"

Thr priestess just smiled. She brought a small box, a letter strapped on top of it.

“Here is the package you are to deliver. I thank you once again,” the priestess handed it to her.

Wow, how mysterious. Ella retorted on her head.

“We will pray for your safety and success,” the priestess continued

“Thank you.”

Ella put the box inside her bag.

“I’m afraid we can’t send you off. We need to prepare the children’s breakfast.”

“It’s okay.”

“May deities protect and guide you.”

The priestess and priest left after thanking Ella for a third time.

“Is that all you have?” the captain asked. He pointed at Ella’s bag.

“Yeah, I was surprised myself,” she answered.

“Oh yeah, here. Take care of my house for me,” She took out a key.

“I’ll take it,” Greta took the before the captain.

“I’m a better caretaker than him.”

“Doesn't mean I can't take care of one. Let’s go,” the captain said.

… … …

The three was standing in front of the pillar.

“It wasn’t that long when John left,” Greta said.

“That’s true,” Ella answered.

“The two of you will return, right?”

“Why’d you think a left my house to you? As for John, I don’t know.”

“I’m sure he will,” the captain interjected.

Greta smiled, “I see. Then we better take care of the village right captain?”

The captain gave her a thumbs up.

“Alright then,” Ella placed her hand on the pillar. I’m going.

They walked to the village’s gate.

Upon reaching the gate, Greta hugged Ella.

“Here.” Greta handed her a lunch box.

“Thanks. I’m gonna miss your food.” Ella took the box.

The captain patted her shoulders. “Just don’t think of this as pointless. Something will happen.”

“Yeah. I’ll try.”

I’ll try.

Jonathan just finished a session of LoL when his phone rang.

“Hey Jonathan, we were thinking about taking a trip to the mountains. You should come,” a man talked on the phone.

“This weekend?” Jonathan lied on his bed

“Yeah.”

“Sorry, Uncle. But I’m busy that day.”

“… I see. Is it your project?”

“Ah? Uh, yeah. We, uh, need to pass it by next week.”

“I see. Next time then.”

“Yeah, sorry.”

“Don't worry about it.”

“… Thanks…”

"Jonathan."

"Yeah?"

"If you want to go out, call me."

"I will. Thanks, Uncle."

The call ended. Jonathan sighed.

“…”

“I’ll get going then,” Ella waved at the two people.

“See you!” “Goodbye!” The two waved back.

Ella walked, following the dirt road leading to the capitol.
