Hello! I bring exciting news! A few chapters of Forgotten are currently being turned into a manga. This patch are the first five pages of the ~30 planned. The content is from chapter 161-163. It is illustraded by SilvaSphinx and paid for by TRM. The script and characters for it were provided by me (duh).
The manga will be done in patches of five pages with a few weeks of time between them. I will post the pages when they are done.
I hope you enjoy it!

okay now I understand why everyone is super intimidated by Aperio- she scary
I mean, I did describe her as a 220cm (7'2") Amazonian Elf. If you want a real world reference, it is very likely that she is taller than your door and basically as wide.
Or look up Shaq next to random people and know that she is a bit taller than Shaq.
@GamingWolf so about the same size as Master Chief
Cool
That guy on the throne matches the mental image I had of him and is similar to the mental image I had of inara empire Emperor
Glad to see buff muscle mommy rendered.
Shouldn’t Ferio have human ears?
Yes, but I noticed it to late to have it fixed, so she is now an Elf for the manga. In the end, it doesn't really matter all that much as she can choose how she wants to look as a Goddess.
Huh so her wings come out at a lower spot than the standard shoulder-blade area.
Yep, under the shoulder blades, upper middle back. It's mainly so that when she has them at rest, they are draped over her shoulders and don't stick up like typical "angel" style wings. Here she has some up cause intimidation is important.
It's a more realistic position for non-magical flight, and her wing span has gotten a more realistic ratio to her height than in some of the art, I'm still undecided if they are jointed properly though. I'd need to lookup what range of motion the wing joints have to figure out what I'd expect them to look like folded. Might be fun
@kaithar Her wings in the manga will always be just an approximation as I cannot reasonably ask an artist to draw them correctly every time here. They would also fill out most of any panel if we do them too size.
As for the joints, you can see a very old rough sketch of how they work here:

Yes, I spoilered a link. It's really long :P
@GamingWolf oooh, useful *clicks*
Ok, yeah, I'm seeing a problem here... that looks like a modified human arm joint?
First problem is from the length... if she's a bit over 7 foot, we can approximate hip to shoulder at 3 foot for the middle bone, add a foot either side for the other two bones and figure 5 feet supported by bone and another 5 feet of pure primary feather for 10 feet on each wing. That makes the jointing on the first page's panel troublesome, since the total bone length there doesn't look much over one Ferio, so short elf or wrong bones? The picture in the glossary and Crusade cover have the 10 feet length but can't be anatomically right since both have the top of the wing aligned with her shoulders (knocks a couple of feet off each for angled joints anyway) and both have the wrong ratios between joints. Advent's art is completely off on wing anatomy, they're too long and jointed weirdly.
Second problem, support and flexibility... I can't figure out if there's supposed to be something after the short "hand" part of the wing, but it looks like 5 foot long feathers, so the outer half of the wing wouldn't articulate. Could be muscle doing some things, but they wouldn't hold that length horizontal to the ground at that pivot point. I don't think the "wrist" joint has that much flexibility... I'd be tempted to say she needs a skeletal base that's somewhere between wing and snake, add enough segments to bend while still being rigid?
Blue hearts has a couple of nice really nice anatomy guides for wings, I'll link them below... moving the base down trades upper arm to forearm length, which is fine, but in a normal wing the three bones are similar length... and while I prefer your placing of wing "shoulder" joint a little lower, due to the mass distribution being centred lower than a bird's, it's gonna need something more creative to explain the rest :/ I'd argue the scapula would extend further down without connecting to rib cage, using the lower part as a base for the needed limb strength.

Really though, I quite like her wings and that she is using them so much, so I'm happy nerding out over how they'd work
