Walking around rustoboro cities, Elias was subjected to the view of skyscrapers and a bustling economy. He read in the library once that Hoenn was second place on the Most powerful region scale, only being topped by Sinnoh, who was the most powerful 

There wasn't a lot to do in rustoboro city, since most of the land was occupied by private companies that didn't let insiders in

After Debating in his head, Elias walked into the gym, ready to take on the challenge 

"Welcome to the Rustboro gym! Leader Roxanne is in the room to your left, waiting for challenges" The lady said, pointing to the room

"Thank you," Elias said, walking towards the gym room. He wasn't planning on beating the gym today, but he had 2 hours to burn.

After his Amnesia, he Looked towards the Power system in this world. Although it's Possible for a caterpie to beat a Geodude, it takes miraculous training and strategy. A Bulbasaur can defeat a venasuar  , but it has less than a 1% chance. 

Pokemon evolve when they feel like they reached the limit, and not based on the level. Most pokemon like to delay the evolution, because the more time they delay it, the stronger they will be for evolution. Pokemon like Gible seem to have a harder time reaching the Limit for evolution, however, making it harder to evolve. Pokemon like Caterpie, tend to reach the Limit faster. That was a key factor for bug type pokemon. they liked to reach the limit faster, trading evolution for speed. of course, there was an exception for this and Elias is confident in his ability to boost the power of Bug and Grass-type pokemon

"I'm Roxanne, Leader of Rustboro Gym! " A Lady the same age of Elias Said

Elias finds it impressive that she became a gym leader at his age. She is apparently a commoner, so she didn't get there by Family connection, only pure strength

Elias didn't know why she wanted to become a gym leader. They are not allowed to use their main team, and only use Alliance provided pokemon

"Wimpod, Come out," Elias said,  throwing out the Pokeball

"Geodude, come out!"  Roxanne threw her first pokemon, A Geodude 

"Geodude, Start this! Use Rock throw!" Roxanne said as Geodude Used its strong hands to rip up the ground and curl it like a snowball

"Wimpod! Use rollout! Ricochet off the Rock throw and Bounce into Geodude! " Elias commanded 

"Geodude, Respond with a rollout of your own!" Roxanne needed to think fast. Wimpod would Gain more momentum from the rock throw, But she something to neutralize Wimpods rollout speed with.

"Wimpod, steer away from geodude and hit the ground!" Elias didn't want the risk of getting hit by a natural talent Rollout by Geodude 

If A pokemon typing matches a move that they perform, it's stronger than a pokemon that doesn't have the same typing as the move. They call it natural talent

Wimpod  Hit the Ground, Making a massive dust cloud

Elias plan was to Create a field of dust, where the Incoming Geodude won't  be able to see wimpod and ricochet off the walls

The incoming Geodude couldn't see Wimpods direction, so it focused on hitting the walls and trying to build momentum for when it does see wimpod, to one-shot it

"Wimpod, Use substitute!" Elias said. He Came across a TM store in Rustboro when he was walking about. Protect was wayyyy out his price range but he managed to get Substitute, which sacrificed 25% of wimpods Hp

Seeing the plushie come on the field, Geodude Targeted the plushie with the intent to quickly break the Substitute and then knock wimpod out

Quickly Destroying the Plushie, Geodude was about to go for another attack when 

"Wimpod, Use Bubble beam!" Elias said as the off-guard Geodude was hit by a point-blank natural talent Bubble beam, Instantly knocking out Geodude. Elias didn't want to bubble-beam at the start due to the chance Geodude had a trump card. He needed to wait for Geodude to Be off guard for him to feel comfortable using it and it paid off

"Geodude, You fought well. Return" Roxanne said "Well, well didn't expect something like that from a Rookie trainer, But the Battle is far from over. Nosepass, come out!"
