If you've been enjoying Fields of Ash, rest assured, I'm still working on it. One of my other hobbies is creating AI's to compete in strategy games and I've been getting back into programming my bot in preparation for a tournament held at the end of every year. Even if I have enough time on any given day, it's difficult to work on both writing and coding at the same time. My brain is pulled in one direction or the other. The past few weeks I've been on the coding mindset and not so much the author's mindset. When coding burns me out I'll be right back to the author grind. That's the nice thing about having two projects, you can procrastinate one by working on the other.
On a side note, would anyone reading this be interested in reading a story about a professional gamer being sucked into a futuristic world and tasked with fighting for humanity by piloting a robot, paired with an AI companion? Let me know.
As always, thanks for reading.
i would totally read that , although not sure if you would have time for 3 projects at once lol
What tournament?
Student Starcraft AI Tournament. I've been a part of it for a couple of years now and the submission deadline is early December.
@JTNestman Ok. Do you guys have Vex Robotics?
@cheesepop No. It's an online tournament all about the RTS game Starcraft Broodwar. Basically contestants create a bot to compete in the game and they hold a massive tournament at the end of each year.
@JTNestman Yo I haven’t played that game in a decade. Awesome.
