Chapter 44 – First Peek to Emanuel’s Background

The introduction of these two inheritances shocked Aurora to the core!

“Impossible!” Her head dribbled from side to side, making Emanuel know she self-circuited.

“Everyone knows that every inheritance can only reach up to 50%! There’s no precedent!” Aurora stood up and confusingly roamed around her room.

Emanuel followed her with his eyes before feeling dizzy. He reached out to her to stop and massage his throbbing head. “It’s not impossible. You just don’t know it.”

“It’s the same as the commoners not knowing about the inheritances. They only knew that the world was increasingly getting high-tech. And yet, it was only less than 10% which already amazed them!”

“Above them, these people only know up to 50% and just like the commoners, they aren’t well-informed about stronger inheritances.”

“As for those who knew above 50% inheritances, it won’t be exaggerated to say they are as lofty as the clouds in the sky. They are too few but they are also the most domineering! They are like gods to people!”

Aurora stared at her father. She felt she was looking at him for the first time. If what he said was true, then wasn’t it him saying that he was as strong as a god?

“How about your Cloning Technology?” Aurora asked timidly.

Emanuel faced her. It was the first time she saw him being this serious. He was always lanky and comedic. People always underappreciated him and only his family knew how special he was. However, he always hid himself deeply.

But right now, the pressure he was emitting was even stronger than the leader of the Secret Federation!

“100%.”

After tucking in his excited daughter, he went downstairs and saw his wife waiting for him. There was a dark cloud shrouding her face and he couldn’t help but feel scared for some reason.

“Alas…”

In a dazed manner, she asked without looking back. “What happened to Illinois?”

True enough. She would still ask him about it.

“He couldn’t remember anything.” Emanuel sat beside her. He was trying to look straight into her eyes so she wouldn’t suspect him lying.

“It's true good to be true.” Cleo clenched her fist. Shadow shrouded her face. She was all smiles just earlier. But the moment her children fell asleep, her weariness couldn’t help but show. She just saw her daughter dying in the news. She also saw Illinois’ dying roar. Fortunately, they were alive. But what if… What if they did die? She couldn’t bear such truth.

“Tell me, will it finally stop?”

Emanuel bowed down and looked at his hands. He closed his eyes, struggling with himself.

“Hahahaha! Let’s do it! Emanuel! Let’s kill a god! There’s a god in Secret Federation!” The shadow guffawed to his heart’s content, seeing Emanuel suffering a setback. But his laughter was cut short when he heard Emanuel’s next word.

“Okay.” The shadow’s eyes bulged. His shadowy figure became frantic. He thought he was dreaming! Is this the Emanuel he knew?

The shadow almost cried. “Finally… Finally, I-I can get my revenge!”

Emanuel opened his phone and called a few numbers. The latter was confused. She waited for her husband to explain.

“Let’s meet some people.” The duo went out in the middle of the night. It wasn’t a long drive as they arrived outside a tall building.

“The MS Group?” Cleo blinked. She followed beside him in confusion. She even saw the manager welcoming them. She was greatly surprised!

“We are here, Sir, Madam.” The receptionist guided them to a seemingly important room. The latter opened the door and gestured with respect.

There were already people inside. Cleo’s eyes widened! She knew some of them!

One was the current Chief Justice of Kimininas!

The other was the Secretary of Defense!

She looked at the others and knew they were also big shots for sitting with these two.

Cleo looked up at her husband. Emanuel held her hand and smiled as he guided her to the foremost seat.

Tak. When Emanuel was finally seated, everyone stood up respectfully. They stayed silent but they couldn’t hide the fiery heat in their eyes!

What reflected in their eyes was their own… God!

“I hope this will bring you confidence.” Emanuel helped the dazed Cleo into her chair. He snickered before scanning his subordinates.

“Paul, James, Eduard.”

“Sir!” Three people bowed and shouted. This trio was the ‘managers’ of Kimininas. The others were also powerful but their influence was on the different countries.

“Chief Justice Paul Cayetano is the tumor of the country. He manages the bad things, circulating them, and letting them infect the system as a whole.”

Paul chuckled. “I am humbled by your compliment.”

“General James Bato is the sharp sickle hanging above the country’s head. He’s responsible for terrorism and counter-terrorism.” Emanuel gave him a playful look.

“It’s a little hobby of mine. I actually dreamt of being a movie director. But to think that directing events is much better.” The bald general scratched his head and felt a little shy from Cleo’s widened eyes.

“Magician Eduard Elric. He is…” Emanuel paused because even he had a hard time describing this competent yet weird subordinate.

“Well, he creates opportunities.” Cleo peeked at Eduard’s head and saw nothing but emptiness. It alarmed her because no person didn’t have any thoughts!

“As for the others, it’s better not to know them at the moment. Maybe if there’s a chance.”

There were still six people whom Emanuel didn’t identify. But Cleo’s ability managed to unravel some of their thoughts and characteristics. They were truly characters with capabilities and this shocked her realizing once again that these people were following her husband!

“When did you come?” Emanuel asked the others.

“As soon as we heard that your family got in trouble.”

“Pfft. Weak! As soon as I heard Young Miss Aurora smuggled herself to attack City Q, I immediately boarded a plane.” They quickly explained themselves as if the first one would be awarded.

Emanuel nodded. “Okay. Anyway, I’m just boasting to you guys to boost my wife’s confidence.

Seeing their weird expression, Emanuel felt rewarded. Chuckling, he said. "Give me a report about the incident. Dismiss.”
