Hey Guys!
A lot happened this past week and this little hobby of mine became more and more demanding as real-life situations made the need to actually earn from this hobby more and more.
Thankfully, opportunities follow pressure. I received a contract with Webnovel and signed it in hopes that this opportunity can greatly help our situation.
Webnovel is a pretty big site and the opportunities in terms of viewership in that site are great. Even now, that site contains more views and followers than on all the other sites I've posted on combined (this site included). The contract will help me get better views as Webnovel will be the ones doing the advertising on that site. Not to mention that the most famous stories hosted and written on Webnovel's China counterpart had anime and even live-action adaptation. (Netflix's The Kings Avatar)
Although I'm not THAT optimistic, still, the future prospects of New Game+ are sure to have a brighter future there
So what does this entail?
Chapters of New Game+ that I declare to be premium will become exclusive on their sites. So I will retain up to chapter 85 here while deleting the rest as agreed in the contract.
With that, I invite all my readers to continue to follow me on Webnovel.

It's a complicated feeling to be a former reader and to now be a formally contracted writer of light novels. My journey continues and it's fun. I hope that you, my readers, will journey with me on this adventure. I really hope to see you at Webnovel. Please continue to support, by voting for my stories there, sharing it, talking about it, or simply by loving it.
UPDATE: New Game+ is nearly 400 chapters long in Webnovel.
Thank you so much, and hope to see you in Webnovel!
Seems my stop is here
This is where we part ways
Safe journeys to you
Thanks man!
another quidian slave joins its ranks, it was fun while it lasted
well... what can I say? gotta pay those bills after all... sad how WW bans gore. couldn't post my story even on their original creation forums. I did try, mind you. As I said on this post... I was there those days when "it" happened. I did have my own opinions which are similar to yours... but alas... life hits you hard. And when things hit the ceiling, you gotta find ways to make ends meet. And prostitution really isn't my strong suit. lol. I understand how you feel. Really I do. This was the entire point of stating that shout out about "old light novel veterans " and you know how it is with the NDA and contract signing.
However, just the four-month support would already be triple and even quadruple the amount of what I get working and selling on Amazon for these past months. To readers, they may have been a bane, but honestly, for authors like me, who hope for a better tomorrow, it really is an opportunity.
Thank you for giving this story a shot though. I hope you really enjoyed it and hope you still will even when this pops up on webnovel. Regardless of your opinions on my choice, I still hope you'd wish me the best of luck!
Thanks!
@Rapture_edge All I can add to this is well-whishes to you. This is just like when people complain about evil profiteering companies, so I understand where @shinikage comes from and respect that since I have my own reservations about qidian.
But like you've said, the novel scene is so different now with actual business investing money in author's like yourself giving hope and changing the scene from where it used to be coming all the way from the Specnet forums and RR largely due to WW but not all. Now, all of this means is more author's can actually write resulting in more novels for us to read. No complaints there.
You dont have to like webnovel and don't have to support them (and I don't) but that doesnt mean they havent brought good to our community. Credit has to be given where it's due.
A lot of publisher wouldnt have even thought about licensing with tranlators and by extention supporting original works from authors like Rapture if it werent for the precedent that qidian thought it could make money out of the novel scene.
So congratulations Rapture, I like your story and I hope you make enough money out of this so that the only thing you have to do from now on is to slave away for your readers and write, write, write!
Yeah, we know that qidian is evil, but, well, if you need them. <3 Good luck with them and your novel.
Thanks!
It's a shame I'll be able to only read 2 chapters a day (I'll never spend real money to read web novels) but I guess it's alright
Thank you for writing and sharing your story.
It's pretty remarkable how the abandonment of this story has lead to my own Giant Robot Reincarnation becoming the top-viewed mecha series on this site. I take no joy in this, as I would much prefer more mecha content for everyone to enjoy... but I guess the leeches at the walled garden of WebNovel sucked the life outta #2. How sad.
but to me as an author, it's going well in webnovel. I transitioned from having a job to writing novels full time. The pay is good and what earn pretty good that helps me pay the bills and i'm not even anywhere near the top yet. whatever I earned here through patreon on the entire time I wrote here wasn't even half of what i earned in the first month there. so i wouldn't go so far as call them leeches cause they pay well. and those guys at the top ranks earn 30k USD per month and that's a very very very conservative estimate. honestly, if i could just have 10k i'd be ok. lol. but thats still a long, long way out of here. it was a nice experience here when it was a hobby. but hey, life happens. especially now in a pandemic I'm glad i made the switch.
@Rapture_edge I doubt WebNovel would accept my LGBT content on their site anyway, so I will keep my stories free for all, never behind a paywall. That's just my own personal preference.
Wish you luck. Since you went to webnovels, I won't bother reading unless you one day make it to print. I won't bother with patreon either as from experience authors drop thier updates as the no longer own rights to the story. Good luck to you though
Hobbies are supposed to be fun, so long as you have fun it's fine!
I will be forced to complete the 40,000 Word count ever month so I can get the promised amount
This worries me though, can the muse be forced?
It is fun even now when there's a goal. I honestly see this as a transition. I do hope I can do this full time. As for the muse, I really haven't really relied on it yet. I began writing this story about 4-5 years ago. And I could only complete about 2 chapters a year because I waited for the muse. When I stopped waiting for it, I pulled of 70+ chapters last year for New Game+ and a couple for my other stories. It might be because I'm not writing a normal traditional novel, and some authors may disagree but because of the "format" of webnovels where you write and to provide an almost "daily" 2k word at minimum (this is based on all active and successful Chinese Webnovel in Qidan), you really can't wait for the muse but you have to find your own muse. So i'm quite confident in completing this 40k. It will be a challenge but perhaps it's a challenge that will only make me better.
What about ebook publishing? I've been reading your writing off kindle.
It will continue, but the publishing of ebooks starting volume 3 will be published by Webnovel. So I don't know when exactly they plan to do that or if they plan to follow the volume divisions I intend.
@Rapture_edge Alright then. Although I don't agree with all of webnovel's policies, it is nice how they make sure money does go to the author. I'll probably wait for your ebook or for like a whole arc because I BINGE READ. XD
@Evelyn Thanks!
