Thirteen and Aizawa had called for reinforcements after everything was over. It was anticlimactic, boring, annoying. They were weak. One thing to note is that there seem to be quirks that can deal with my abilities, like that teleporter. There must be weaknesses, so I suppose I’ll just have to figure out what it is. I’ll have to go over the fight later.
All Might and a few other heroes arrived shortly after with the police, and they took away the villains before turning to me.
“My name is Kenji Tsuragaeme, the Chief of Police. I would like to ask you a few questions.”
I give him a nod and follow him over to a more secluded area, I notice the gazes of the girls, and some of the boys. There are mixed reactions. Fear, awe, respect, anger.
“Eraserhead and Thirteen gave us their statements. Were you really planning to kill them?”
I look at the man in front of me, and I’m having issues focusing because he’s a fucking dog. I want to growl and scratch his face, but I can’t.
Instead of opening my mouth and letting out hostile sounds, I give him a nod.
“Erm, are you okay?”
Just now am I realising my tail and ears are standing on end.
“Cat. Instincts. Dog, enemy.” I growl at him. I really have to do something about this issue.
He looks perplexed at me for a second, before nodding and calling over a colleague. The colleague comes over, and the dog man explains the situation before retreating. I can feel my instincts fading, but they are still there and I’m tracking his scent and keeping him in my peripheral vision.
“Interesting case. It seems you have very strong cat instincts.”
I look at the man in front of me, and he reminds me of a bird. Red feathery wings, yellow hair and yellow glasses.
“My name’s Hawks. Pro hero. I often assist the police in their work. Now then, the Chief were asking you a question before uh, the situation, right?”
“Indeed. Yes I was going to kill them. They were making threats towards the lives of everyone here, and personally towards All Might. This was a plot to kill him, and they brought some kind of shock-absorbing puppet to deal with him.”
The bird guy, Hawks, writes down a few things on a notepad. “I see, I see. You are aware that Heroes aren’t supposed to kill villains? There is a particular law stating it is possible, but only if necessary.”
I scoff at his statement. Facade. Hypocrisy. “So you mean to tell me that we should just let them kill civilians, heroes, family members, only to do nothing? Did you not learn anything from All For One escaping prison after what he did?”
Hawks flinches at my statement, I forgot that was supposed to be confidential.
“How do you know about that?”
“Does it matter? I do. Now, unless there is anything else I’ll be leaving. If you have any follow up questions you will have to wait for my father to arrive.”
A look of understanding replaces his surprise. Is my father that famous? Almost every hero knows about him?
“A word of advice. Stop with the facades and hypocrisy. The only way to make sure someone doesn’t remain a threat to come back for revenge, is to put them down, permanently.”
It's not Tsugaraeme, it's Tsuragaeme...
Also, why did he not make any dog innuendos when talking?!
Wait, he does those?? I’ll have to admit I haven’t seen the series in a while. I’ll look up a clip of how he’s talking and I’ll do a retcon of the chapter! Also thanks for name mistake...I swear Japanese names are made to confuse you when written in romaji.
Thank you for the chapter!
I've always hated the "No killing" rule Hero's always have. If the dude is a mass murderer, f*cking Ice that sh*t bag, and be done with it.
Yeah that’s going to be a big focus here. My personal view on using deadly force is a bit muddled. While I agree some people may be better of dead, it’s always the “what if an innocent person dies, then to later be revealed they actually hadn’t done the thing they were accused of”. It’s a hot topic generally, and I honestly think at this point I’m going to take this series a bit more seriously than I did when I started writing it, maybe try to project some of societies issues onto it, while also revealing my annoyances with MHA. (HOW THE HELL DID BAKUGO ENTER UA WHEN HE USES HIS QUIRK NONSTOP OUTSIDE OF THE ACADEMY AND HE KEEPS THREATHENING TO KILL PEOPLE!!!)
Yea. I've actually watched very little of MHA over all, but even I know that Bakugo shouldn't have been able to be anywhere near anything hero related other than Jail honestly. I think it's just a massive case of plot armour doing its thing for him.
As for the deadly force thing... I guess. But for someone like AFO, I would not let him live. Or most of the "top end" villains for that matter.
@Mira_Zenon Yep, which is why I’m trying my own spin with inquisitors, as well as Luxie being a little chaos cat throwing the public into uproar down the line.
@Mira_Zenon OFA, One For All, that's All Might...
AFO, All For One, that's the bad guy...
Yea, my bad hahaha. I was replying to 2 people about the same topic, and mixed up BOTH the names. It happens. Fixed, thanks! (This is why I am jelly of all the MC's who get parallel thought )
@Mira_Zenon NGL, I keep mixing them up aswell, I have to think about their actual meaning to figure it out. I mean, canonically iirc, the only difference is that one quirk is passed down and absorbing quirks/power/stockpiles to the next holder, while the other is just one user but can do mostly the same?
I think the quirks are kinda like the Klyntar (The race Venom is.) But one is symbiotic, and the other is parasitic with the intention to take over. I think All For One can steal quirks, but One For All just keeps getting stronger and stronger as it gets passed down?
@Mira_Zenon I think they're the exact opposite of each other. One quirk gets stronger by taking and the other by giving...
Just looked it up, and a quick skim is like this:
One For All absorbs and merges the quirks of it's users, and "cultivates", becoming more and more powerful as time goes on / users are passed too.
All for One just simply steals shit.
@Mira_Zenon Aaah. That’s the part of. OFA I missed. Yeah that makes sense and IIRC they do mention that each new holder becomes stronger than the previous.
Yea, but at a huge cost. If the new user has a quirk their life span is dramatically shortened, and it got worse as the quirk grew in power. Deku think's he's the last one able to use the Quirk because he suspects that it'll just quickly kill any other person now really fast. (Since most people in that world have quicks after all.)
@Mira_Zenon
I actually came to that conclusion just from seeing the damage Deku did to himself at the start of the manga and I thought that was because the quirk was simply becoming too strong for a regular, previously quirkless body to handle. It was basically beginning to overwhelm the regular body.
My opinion on that matter is that they could probably fix this problem if they gave it to someone with a regenerative quirk. Since OFA merges with the quirks of its wielders and passes onward together, it might merge with that too, then it shouldn't be much of a problem anymore, right?
From what the wiki break down says, I think it would have to be a VERY powerful regeneration quirk. We're talking near immortality levels of regeneration here. That's just how much of a burden a foreign quirk places on the body if you already have one.
And the reason why One For All will always hurt it's users at the start of the syncing is because it's not naturally yours. So you don't have synergy with it. Like how that idiot doesn't blow off his own hands with his explosion quirk.
It's actually ideal for the One For All to be placed in a quirkless body, since it's an empty vessel. That's why All Might lived the longest out of all the users. The only other users who didn't die to AFO, died of "old age" at 40 or something.
