The next day at 6 AM...

Saruhiko is sleeping on his fluffy bed peacefully but then.....

"RISE AND SHINE, SLEEPYHEAD!"

A light brown-skinned girl with pointy ears and white hair busts through the door

"What the-"

"A dark elf?" HE thought

He looked at the clock next to his bed

"Oh come on, its only 6 o'clock in the morning!"

"Her majesty asked me to get you into shape and I sure wouldn't dare to disappoint her. NOW GET THE HELL UP!"

 

He got out of bed unwillingly and followed her to the cafeteria after brushing his teeth

 

After having a quick breakfast, the two arrived at the training ground where a large group of knights are already training.

The female knight opened a big box, revealing a crate of nicely organized weapons

"Take your pick"

"Aren't we going to at least use training weapons for this?"

"Bah! Only pussies use training weapons!"

Saruhiko sighed and looked at the crate of weapons.

"Lets see....saber, spear, claymore, mace..."

Out of all the weapons, one in particular caught his attention.

A katana

Saruhiko grabbed the weapon and unsheathes it, inspecting the blade

"Yes, this will do just fine"

 

"Hah, so you are picking that weapon huh?" She snorts 

"No-one here was able to properly use it so I can't see you doing it either, but whatever."

She points at the knights

"Your first training is to defeat every single one of the knights here, a summoned one should at least be able to do this much right?"

He chuckles and lets out a terrifying gaze.

"Aren't you underestimating me quite a bit?"

His eyes glowed red without him noticing

"If you want to beat me....you better bring a whole f*cking army"

The 34 knights that were present drew their swords and got into formation

Saruhiko got into his combat stance and leaps forward towards them.

"WOAH-!"

He appears behind the knights unintentionally, cutting the legs of two of the knights unintentionally 

"It looks like my physical skills are much stronger than before" He thought to himself

 

The rest of the knights let out a battle roar and charged straight towards him

"Haha, I almost feel bad for you"

Sarukiho swung his blade towards a knight's direction

The said knight thought he blocked the strike but the attack still landed

"What the- how?! I was sure the attack came from the left!"

He points his blade at them with one hand

"I'll give you one more chance to forfeit, its impossible for you to negate my skill"

"HA! You are asking for the impossible here. As the proud knights of the Artnis Kingdom, we will not forfeit!"

Saruhiko shrugged

"Well, suit yourself'

The "Saruhiko" in front of them suddenly disappeared

"What the- argh!"

One of them was knocked unconscious by the real Saruhiko

The knights scattered and surrounded him

"How did you-"

"I believe you are asking the wrong questions. You should be asking yourself 'when did you fall under the influence of my skill'. Moreover, is the 'me' in front of you even real?"

"D-damn you! Fight us like a real man, you coward!"

"As you wish"

He vanished from where he stood and hit the knight's stomach with the hilt of his sword, knocking him out.

 

Saruhiko then focused his mana into the sword, reinforcing it with water magic

"Since my water magic is only level one, this is the most I could manage for now" He thought to himself

With the enhancement, he easily split the knight's one-handed swords in half

Thanks to all the times he spent with the student council vice-president and all the Isekai anime she made him watch with her, he knew the basics of mana and how it works in a fantasy world

 

"There are only 2 simple steps, really: visualization and manifestation" He thought

"Lets put this theory to the test, shall we?"

The mana surrounding his katana suddenly intensifies 

"Cutting Torrents"

Saruhiko launched several blades of water towards the knights

 

The female knight suddenly stepped in and managed to block the barrage of water blades with a simple mana shield

"Thats quite enough, wouldn't you say?"

"Why are you stepping in? Wasn't this supposed to be a test?" He flashed her a cold look

"That attack was powerful enough to kill them, you know"

"Huh? I thought I held back quite a bit"

"Well, I like my men in one piece so learn some restraint will ya?"

She snapped her fingers, several healing mages rushed into the training ground and healed the injured.

 

"Anyways, you've proven your strength adequately enough. Some self-restraint is needed but your strength is much needed in the front lines"

She turns around and starts to walk away

"Oh right, I haven't introduced myself have I?"

The dark elf turns around and smiled brightly

"I am Estel Othanar, ranked 3rd amongst the 5 great generals of the Artnis Kingdom!"

She reached her hand out for a handshake, Saruhiko returned the favor

"I'm looking forward to working with you, Estel"

"Likewise"

 

She then threw him a dark golden badge with scarlet-red outlining

"Her majesty wanted to give you this. We originally wanted to make you the replacement for the general who recently died in battle, but rising in ranks too quickly will spark conflict within the army, You'd have to settle for the knights' vice-captain for now"

Estel pats him on the back

"So until you've proven your strength as absolute, you are stuck as my subordinate. Call me boss from now on!"

"No way in hell"

"Bahahahahaha! I have a feeling we'll get along just fine!"

 

After a long and relaxing bath, Saruhiko put on the cloths given by the maids and saw Edwin standing on the other side of the door

"Your majesty demands for your presence in the throne room, Mr. Himejima"

"Alright, I'll be going there immediately"
